Chapter 19 - Inheritance II

Inside the bus-like vehicle in a black color, Kirt and the girl entered along with Eyles.

The seats were only for one people and had been separated from each other to the two sides. The lighting was dim and the inside of the bus gave a gloomy aura with there not being much to see out the window. At the moment, there was only 2 people within the bus, two boys like Kirt.

One was definitely older than him while the other seemed to be around the same age as him. They looked rather similar, making one think whether they were related by blood or not.

The expressions they had weren't sad at all, cold, if one will say.

At the start, they only glanced at the two of them before one directed his gazes away, continuing to look out the window. However, the other's eyes were situated on the girl next to him.

He looked at her for a split moment before asking surprised.

"Hale, is that you?"

"Yes... Do I know you?" Hale replied back.

"Ah, right. I saw you somewhere before and after that, coincidentally came to know that you're one of my father's coworker's daughter so you might not know me" the boy said in realization.

"Ah, I see..." Hale weakly replied back while looking down at the floor.

"Here, take a seat next to me. We can talk" the boy said and invited the girl to the next seat.

Noticing them, Kirt took a note and slightly glanced at the girl while passing by her naturally. Now that he noticed, the girl was indeed pretty. Fair skin and big eyes and along with the redness within them made her have a unique charm.

Kirt passed by them before taking a seat at the back of the bus. Since he had nothing to do, he just looked out the window while listening on the two's conversation.

"You're Hale right? Your father was a nice..." the two continued their talk as from it, Kirt learned of a few useless information such as that the girl was actually 15 years old and just looked younger while being also a good student with a high power level.

Power level of 3.5.

The other also had a similar power level but was one year older than her, 16 years old.

...

Soon, kid after kid came into the bus as all of them had the general similarity of having become dark. They took different seats and it wasn't much long before the vehicle came to a location.

Once Kirt stepped outside, he first saw the large building outside.

It was a three-floor building; it looked rather grand.

Following the man, they entered the building and directly went to a room. The room's inside was mostly made out of dark wood. It looked just like a courtroom.

There was a person waiting for them, an old woman wearing a dark red robe and a square black hat on her head. Behind her was the symbol of the Eternal Phoenix, representing the nation.

The old woman wore a gold-rimmed glass and had a stern face as she told them, "Go to the seat corresponding to your names on the table"

They finally knew that they were going to inherit the legacy their parents left behind.

So, they did quietly as they were told to and each went to their places, 16 of them in total.

Finding his own place, Kirt saw his name 'Kirt Kouteli' on a piece of paper on the table.

In front of him was currently a piece of paper, which he read following the instruction of the woman.

The paper described the properties his parents owned and the total amount of property he would get.

It wasn't much in quantity but definitely not low in value.

According to the piece of paper, with the various legal debts deducted from it and the insurance money included, he would receive a total of 1.15 million Ekters just in money for the inheritance. As for the apartment and other properties, they were another matter.

1.15 Ekters were definitely a lot of money, but if he wanted to upgrade his abilities and equip himself with good weapons or enter a university, it was just a passable amount.

However, he assumed that when he sells other things, he would receive much more.

Of course, he wouldn't need much things concerning his ability. After all, he had his system and was thinking of developing in the direction of seals, not the pathway of espers, mages, nor martial artists.

And the sealing pathway shouldn't have much of a problem for him.

After reading the terms, he wrote his name on the piece of paper before waiting patiently.

Other than the 10% term, there wasn't anything extra.

After all the children had done signing the papers, they were each taken to their homes by the bus-like vehicle once again. As for how they will retrieve money, it would be transferred to their bank accounts which will be automatically opened for them under their names while the various properties their parents owned will be transferred to their name.

...

After getting off the bus along with the girl Hale Coelt, Kirt knew he had successfully completed his task as a normal person.

All he needed to do was enter his apartment and today's matter would be done.

So, standing in the elevator, a silence ensued between the two of them. Neither of them took the initiative to talk and even when there were signs that the girl wanted to erase the silence between them, Kirt directly ignored the attempts.

He was just like a cold statue, except that the light in his eyes was gloomy and dark.
