Chereads / An Analyser's System / Chapter 6 - The Level-Based System

Chapter 6 - The Level-Based System

"I'm fine..." Said Ray while panting heavily

As his vision returned to him, he could see the shook and worried expressions on their faces.

"Do you need help going down the stairs?" One of the teachers asked

"I'm good, start going without me" ray replied with his head hung down

"But..."

"Sis, I'll be fine. I'm going to need some time alone..." Said ray while forcing a smile to reassure her that he's fine

"Time alone, do you not see or hear what's happening outside?!" Asked Tina as she got up and going downstairs

"Sis, please... Trust me, It may lead to our survival..." Ray muttered

"Two minutes... You have two minutes..."

She then walked down the stairs while clenching her fist. Her brother was an idiot but at the same time he wasn't an idiot.

Ray felt bad for doing that, but he didn't have a choice, he needed to be alone

"Don't take too long." Said the teacher before heading downstairs

"I won't..." Ray replied

Now that ray was all alone, he could finally get to what was bugging him

"A robotic voice... Experience points... Level up..." He muttered

Ray used to play MMO games at home, so he was familiar with the term level up, he was also familiar with the term experience points. But that left the question, why did he get the experience points? He didn't directly kill the ogre

After thinking about it deeply, He understood that he gained experience points from being the last person the attack the ogre. These were all similar to features of a game, ray couldn't believe it.

"Am I going crazy? If this is really a game then... Shouldn't I be able to see my stats?" Ray asked himself

The instant he muttered the word stats, a screen popped up right in front of him

<190/700 Exp>

---------------------

[Stats]

HP: 55/55

MP: 75/75

---------------------

Vitality: 5

Sense: 7

Strength: 3

Agility: 4

Intelligence: 15

<12 Stat points Available>

---------------------

[Skills]

[Shop]

A smile was formed on the face of Ray who saw this, his heart started to beat, faster and faster, for the first time in a while, he felt excited for something

"Haha... A game user's interface... Sort of like the ones on the games I played online... Ha... It really is the end of the world..." Muttered Ray as he stared at the screen

Ray didn't like how all the information was in one single tab, he wanted each section to be split into different tabs

The instant he thought that, the systematic voice came back.

"AH-" He nearly shouted

The fact that the voice came out of nowhere nearly gave Ray a heart attack, he was afraid he'd have to relive all of that pain again

Shortly after the message, Ray's status screen closed and then opened again. Only this time, it was different. It opened up on a tab called [User]

<190/700 Exp>

Next to the user tab, there were other tabs. The Stats tab

[Stats]

HP: 55/55

MP: 75/75

---------------------

Vitality: 5

Sense: 7

Strength: 3

Agility: 4

Stamina: 5

Intelligence: 15

<12 Stat points Available>

The skill tab

[Skills]

And finally, the shop tab

Ray could freely alternate between the tabs just by thinking on what tab he wanted to be in, he could access all tabs except the shop, it was locked, and he had no idea on how to unlock it. But that was the least of his worries

"12 stat points huh..."

Right now, Ray was interested in his stats, if it worked like how he assumed, then Vitality decided his health, Durability decided how much he durable he would be, Strength is how strong he was, Agility would be his speed, Stamina would be how much energy he would have but intelligence, he wasn't sure how it worked

Intelligence already stood out from the beginning as it was in the two digits and the highest stat. Ray assumed that it might have something to do with memorisation or just simply being smarter. However, seeing that his intelligence was 15 gave him another sense of accomplishment.

"Strength is 3... What the hell, I've won fights before... Sometimes..."

Ray wasn't too happy about his strength, but he couldn't care less, he had 12 stat points available, and if his guess was right, he'd be able to get stronger just by adding the stat point to it.

But instead of simply strengthening himself up, he decided to wait. First he didn't even know how strong 1 stat point would make him, and he didn't know what the limit of 3 strength could do. Furthermore, he hadn't even checked out what his skill analyse could do

"Well, it should be fine to just use 3 to even them out" Ray muttered

He thought of placing 2 stat points in strength and a system message popped up

With a smile on his face, he replied "Confirm"

He did the same to his agility stat and added 1 point on to it

[Stats]

HP: 55/55

MP: 75/75

---------------------

Vitality: 5

Sense: 7

Strength: 5

Agility: 5

Stamina: 5

Intelligence: 15

<9 Stat points Available>

Seeing his stats evened out, made him quite happy. Knowing that he was running out of time, Ray decided to check out his skill

"Analyse..." he muttered while staring at the wall

The sudden message didn't jump scare ray this time, he felt like it was coming

<6...7... 15… 35... 50... 65... 70... 75... 80... 90... 95... 99... 100% Wall has been analysed>

The moment the wall was analysed, a different screen appeared beside Ray's status screen

The skill didn't seem that impressive, or useful, but ray knew from experience that you shouldn't judge something solely on your first impression of it. There might have been something more to the skill than meets the eye, not to mention, being able to analyse something in itself would be extremely useful

Shortly after, ray received another message

Without thinking too much about it, ray replied

"Confirm"

The status next to Title changed in the user tab

<190/700 Exp>

Shortly after he received another notification

Suddenly a tab called [Quest] Was highlighted in his screen. It was right next to Shops yet he hadn't noticed it earlier

He alternated into the quest tab and there he could see the daily quest

Rewards: 1 Stat point + 40 exp

Ray wondered why he only received this quest now, then realised that it it probably had something to do with his title. Knowing this, he felt like choosing the title was the right choice, it gave him a rather easy quest, after all.

[I guess I'll start off by completing the quest, but I better get going... I spent too much time here... ] He thought to himself as he stood up

Today, September 21st in the Year 2022, Ray discovered that humanity had hope of fighting back.
