Chereads / PINK LEMONADE / Chapter 9 - Going Home

Chapter 9 - Going Home

I wait by the mansion's entrance for the possible 2nd piece of my heart. Sometimes you just don't get to choose the puzzle piece. Sometimes it's solely based upon the composition, the carving, if it fits perfectly with another. Geez MaeMae! Now you're talking weird.

10 minutes later, I hear footsteps so I turn around to see Hyun-ki in sweatpants, a long sleeve shirt, black hat, and Timberlands. This guy literally makes everything look good. MaeMae snap out of it!

Thank GOD I'm not one of those girls that freezes up around guys, because that would totally be happening right now if I were someone else.

"Are you ready?", Hyun-ki asks with one hand in his pocket. Is he trying to act cool or is that just his stance? Nevertheless, I nod my head and grin brightly. Hyun-ki returns a grin, and goes in front of me to open the gate.

Hyun-ki exits the property, and opens the door of his gray truck for me.

"Thank you", I bow my head and get into the truck as Hyun-ki closes the door. Hyun-ki also gets in, and that's when the setting turned weird.

3 minutes later, and it's just awkward silence.

"How about some music?", he suggested as he activated the radio.

The first song that came on was Red Velvet's "Bad Boy". Of course I immediately start singing, but as quiet as possible. I went on my phone, and scrolled through Instagram trying to not pay attention to this unusual setting. 20 seconds into me singing the song while on my phone, Hyun-ki comments on my voice while we're at the stop light.

"You can actually sing. You sing so prettily", Hyun-ki smiles and waits for me to look up from my phone.

"Really I wasn't even trying, and you can hear me? I was being super quiet", I hide my face in embarrassment using my hands.

Hyun-ki grasps my hands, pulls them down on my lap, and tightly holds on to them.

"I'd like to hear what you sound like when you try. You should sing for me", Hyun-ki rubs my hand.

"Are you flirting with me Mr. Kim?", I tease and raise my eyebrow.

Hyun-ki imitates my eyebrow, and we both end up laughing.

We eventually arrive at my apartment. I unbuckle the seat belt, and get out of the car. Hyun-ki follows behind me. We reach the top of the entrance's steps.

"Would you like to come in?", I ask oblivious as to how intimate it sounded.

"Sure. I got an hour", Hyun-ki steps into the apartment. I lead him up to the second floor.

"So how many rooms are in this apartment building?", Hyun-ki wonders as we go up the steps.

"Well there's only two rooms and two floors in the entire building. Kallie and I have the top floor, so we have the best view", I explain as I get the keys out of my purse.

"Oh, is it a private apartment?", Hyun-ki asks as we head inside.

"Yeah. It's only a 10 minute drive from Seoul National University", I close the door to my apartment.

As soon as I turn around, Hyun-ki is already sitting comfortably on the couch.

"I see you're already comfortable", I chuckle and set my purse down on the table. Hyun-ki chuckles too, and messes with his hair.

"Wanna see my room?", I tug his hand.

"Sure", Hyun-ki complies and heads with me into my light blue room.

"Aaaawww. It's so pretty. It matches your personality", Hyun-ki grabs my teddy bear off of my bed, and touches its nose to mine.

"How do you know my personality? You've only known me for a day", I grab the teddy bear and hit him on the head with it.

"But you would be right", I admit while setting the bear back down on my bed. Hyun-ki shakes his head while holding back laughter.

"You must also have a really dark side, because there are also a lot of black things in this room", Hyun-ki smacks my black pillow.

"Did you just assume my race?", I cross my arms sassily.

"Ha ha. You know what I mean", Hyun-ki smirks.

"Doesn't everyone have a....dark side?", I think logically while looking out of my curtains.

Little did I know how little distance there was between him and I. I turn around and Hyun-ki is 1 foot away from my face. He places each of his hands on either side of me on the window.

I start breathing fast, because of how badly Hyun-ki scared me. I put my hand on my chest to slow down my breathing.

"What the heck Ki? You scared me!", I stare into his eyes but Hyun-ki looks sneaky. He better not try anything. Wait, he's not like that. Wait! What am I saying? ALL guys are like that! But Hyun-ki is not that kind of guy. Then again, I truly just met him yesterday.

"I didn't mean to scare you", Hyun-ki chuckles.

"Well then....could you move so I can breathe my own air?", I push his chest but he doesn't budge.

"Only if you give 'Ki' a kiss first", Hyun-ki makes a deal moving his face closer to mine.

"Not until you ask me on a date dude. I'm not that easy", I inform him.

"Yeah, I know", Hyun-ki laughs stepping away from me, and I join in.

Hyun-ki checks the clock.

"Hey MaeMae, I gotta go. I have dance practice with the guys in 45 minutes", Hyun-ki scratches the back of his head.

"Yeah! Of course! Go ahead", I smile happily.

"Bye", Hyun-ki partially appears disappointed. He heads out of the room.

Before he could exit my apartment, I stopped him from leaving.

"Wait Hyun-ki!", he stops immediately and turns in my direction. I kiss his cheek, and slowly back away. He just.....smiles as if he were expecting it.

"I was wondering when that'd happen", we both stare at each other blushing.

"MaeMae....do you wanna....come see our dance practice?", Hyun-ki invites me putting both hands in his pockets.

"Sure I'd love to see you dance at practice", I respond while opening the door.

"I'll text you the address", he bows his head and winks at me. Leaving me with an odd aura.

Did I get infected by something? Why do I feel so weird? Hyun-ki what did you do to me?
