Rachael had called Trinity's father to inform him about what was going on. She requested that Amara meet her at the football field at the school so that she could explain in more detail as to what was going on. This way they would be far enough away from the school. Since it was increasingly becoming more and more aware to the other students where this oddity was originating from.
Rachael did her best to avoid eye contact as Trinity came around the corner. She knew that Trinity would be upset with her.
Heart racing, Trinity looked at Rachael in panic. How could she do this to her? She knew exactly how much she distrusted Amara.
That's when she realized the predicament she was now in. If Amara was able to sense her emotions now because of her suddenly being able to broadcast her emotions, then Amara would soon learn just how much she was pretending around her. This wasn't gonna be good.
Amara raised an eyebrow at the waves of emotions she could feel radiating from Trinity. "Interesting!" she commented. Her eyes gleamed with shock, surprise and interest. She looked at the principal and nodded while thanking him for bringing Trinity to her so promptly. She then looked at Jessica and Rachael. "The two of you can either choose to stay here with your friend, or you can go back to class."
"I would appreciate it if they can stay." Trinity replied nervously, while staring down at the ground.
Amara smiled. "Of course. I'm sure this must be a bit of a shock." She looked back at the principal. "Please excuse these three girls from the rest of their classes today. They will all be coming with me."
The principal gave a swift nod and bowed towards Amara before leaving back towards the school.
"Now, first things first, is the process of elimination. We must first figure out how this originated before we can figure out how to manage it better. Do you happen to know what happened before this started?" Amara asked.
The three girls shook their heads.
"According to Rachael and Jessica, it started this morning in class. I didn't even notice it was happening until they brought it up to me." Trinity whispered, trying her best to control her panic. Amara was the last person that she wanted helping her with this issue.
"So you didn't sense anything that was happening, yourself, until the others brought it up to you?" Amara asked.
Trinity shook her head slowly. "No, I didn't."
Amara looked at Rachael and Jessica. "But the both of you were able to sense what was happening with her. Can you please explain to me in as much detail as possible, exactly what occurred? Don't leave out any details, no matter how small it may seem."
Rachael went into detail on the progression of their morning. How the day started off normal, to the students all beginning to sense something odd, but no one knew exactly what was going on. She explained as best as she could, everything that happened, leading up to the moment with them at lunch when they realized it was coming from Trinity.
"So, nothing had happened to her while at school?" Amara questioned, confused.
Both Jessica and Rachael shook their heads.
Amara circled around Trinity, eyeing her up and down. "If his spell didn't prevent me from touching you, I would be able to attempt to direct my energy into you and figure out where this is coming from."
Jessica and Rachael looked at each other confused. This was the first they were hearing about Amara not being able to physically touch Trinity. They began to wonder just what else had she not told them?
"So let's start from what we do know. You are manifesting a projection of your emotions. Have you been under a lot of stress or emotional distress?" Amara asked, as she continued to inspect Trinity.
Trinity's eyes widened at the question. Yes, she had been bottling up a lot of her emotions lately, trying to hide her feelings and emotions from Amara after finally discovering the truth that she already knew inside. But she couldn't admit that!
Nervously, she stared back down at the ground. "Well it would be weird if I wasn't, after what you showed me! It was... very disturbing to see." she whispered.
Amara stopped walking and thought about her words. "Yes, that would make sense. But that wouldn't explain the sudden ability to project your emotions. Is there anything else that you can think of that would have caused this? Did he cast a spell on you in any way?"
Trinity shook her head. She couldn't think of anything. "No, nothing. This wasn't something that Zyxel did at all. I don't know what caused this!" she replied.
"What about a surge of energy? Were you ever exposed to an influx of energy of some sort? Something that may have overloaded or shocked your system?"
Trinity bit her lower lip. Was it possible? A nervous feeling began radiating out from her.
"There was, wasn't there?" Amara exclaimed, as she noticed Trinity's hesitation. She opened up her mouth as realization struck her. "The forest, of course! What happened there?"
Trinity shook her head. "You've already tried influencing me before. I can't control this right now, so you can easily sense my emotions. You know I'm not lying to you when I say that I don't know what happened. All I remember from that day was feeling a rush of energy, burning, and pain."
She looked Amara in the eye. "But the energy left my body. There's nothing left of it. Why would it suddenly be causing an issue now?"
Amara stood with both hands on her hips, tapping a lone finger on her hip as she listened to Trinity. "Yes, I can sense from you that you aren't lying. Therefore, no amount of trying to influence your mind will be able to unlock what you were too distracted to notice." She continued tapping her finger as she studied Trinity. "And while I do not sense any energies still lingering in your body, I do not believe that it didn't negatively affect you in some way."
Before Trinity could open her mouth to speak, Amara quickly continued what she was trying to say. "I think that whatever you were exposed to out there in that forest, changed the cells in your body. And due to the emotional distress you experienced, your affected body reacted to that experience and amplified your emotions, allowing them to be broadcast and felt by others around you."
"Is that even possible?" Trinity asked, worried.
"Has it happened before? Not to my knowledge. But is it impossible? I do not believe so." Amara commented. "Energy is energy, and can be unpredictable at times if the intention of the user is not clear when it is being manipulated."
Trinity frowned at hearing this.
"I would need to run a few tests though to verify my theories. Would you be willing to help me with that?" A smile spread across her face, which sent a shiver down Trinity's spine, and caused Amara to laugh from the wave of emotion that was sent out.
Sensing Trinity's nervousness pouring out of her, Jessica and Rachael raced over to their friend, and each of them held her hand, trying to comfort her.
"Don't worry! I will take very good care of you! For you to have survived a surge of energy like that, there does seem to be something very interesting about you. I'm beginning to understand why my brother chose to take such an interest in you. You don't have any reason to worry." Amara said with a sweet smile.
Trinity glared at Rachael once more. This was the last thing that she wanted was being put under a microscope, which was being conducted by Amara.
