"Did Yoona do something wrong again?"
"No Yoona, you are fine..." Vanity was soft with her words. She's dealt with Gnolls before, and almost all of them have the emotional intelligence of children. "Mordeki just doesn't deal with females well."
"So Yoona's savior is not mad at her?" Vanity ignored the 'savior' part.
"No, no. Not at all. He's just a little frightened. Give him some time and I'm sure he will warm up to you."
Yoona took on a really giddy look as they both then saw Gala getting led by a servant through the hall. "Princess!" She yelled down the hall waving.
"Oh gods not her again... Yoona you can go back in just stay away from him for just a little bit, okay?"
"Alright! Yoona can do that!" Yoona returned to the room. Vanity then reluctantly turned to the approaching bird. "So, aren't you gonna greet me, princess?" Gala asked unaware of the several royal offenses she's been making.
"That's 'QUEEN' to you, peasant."
Gala stood in a stunned silence. Both of them stood there in the quiet for a good few seconds. Vanity slowly moved her hand in front of the bird's face. "Helloooo. Did I break something?"
"Could..." Gala looked up to Vanity with a sudden heavy breath. "Could you do that again?"
"..." Vanity had no idea how to respond other than a disgusted look. She turned and went back into the room with an exasperated groan. "Why do I keep attracting the weirdos?" She thought.
Gala took a moment to compose herself as she adjusted her silken, forest green shorts and cowl. "Calm down girl. You're getting too far ahead of yourself. The event from this morning is still messing with you. Curb the thirst." She quietly reprimanded herself, as she then went into the room. She sat on the floor next to the Gnoll girl who seemed to be hiding off in the corner. "Hey, are you okay?"
"Yes. Yoona is fine." She said a little dejected.
"Please, I've been around girls long enough to know if one's sitting alone in a corner things are in fact; not fine."
"Don't worry about Yoona. Her problem can only be solved with time, so she just has too wait." Yoona said getting a more determined look.
"Ooookay, I get it now. Don't worry, I understand." Gala actually did not understand. "That time of the month around the church can get real bitchy." Yoona looked over to Gala confused, but Gala hardly noticed.
"So until your 'problem' is solved..." Gala continued. "Why don't us 'beastly beauties' stick together?" Gala offered a wink and a hand to shake. Yoona simply nodded, much to Gala's chagrin.
Reggie was the second to last to enter the room. He recognized Zackaria and Garam, which meant everyone else were his fellow 'summons'. "It's a fucking zoo in here!" He thought. "One... four... eight... alright there's one more after me. Gods, please let it be something normal. A human, an elf, a dwarf. Hells, I'll even take a goblin if I have too. Just anything without fur, scales, or horns." He took a seat on the vacant couch across from Ag, the only seemingly normal one of the whole menagerie. Ag nodded towards him before going back to his discussion with Vanity.
Ave sat up slightly as he felt a disturbance. His concentration shattering as Reggie took his seat. Ave blinked as his silver eyes took on a slightly more purple color, at which he then noticed, if for the briefest of moments, a woman dressed in a tattered white nightgown snuggling gently into Reggie's chest as she sat across his lap. "I'm going to have to deal with that later." Ave thought, before sitting back more comfortably. He no longer heard the ringing in his ears as he was too focused on Reggie's every move.
Finally, Dian made her entrance. She sat at the other end of the couch with Reggie. At which he let out a quiet yet shocked gasp. "I've never seen an elf so tall! Even high elves hardly reach 5' 6"! She has to have some giant blood in her. That's the only explanation." Reggie thought, as he adverted his gaze once Dian realized she was being stared at.
"Paint a portrait, it will last longer..." Dian bit back. Reggie was mid thinking of a witty retort when Gala sat down in between them. She had a completely difference series of thoughts. "Oh my Gooooooooods! She is an absolute beauty! The height! The style! The ~mystery~! Past me was dead wrong; These are prime thirst hours!" Gala tried to think of something to say suavely as she looked up to the elf who was almost two feet taller than her.
"Do you actually have something to say, or are you going to just stare like everyone else on this couch?" Dian said trying not to be as insulting to the bird as she was to Reggie. At which she would immediately regret this decision.
"Oh no no no! I was just thinking you're really pretty!" Gala tried to save herself from the sudden high tide this is good first impressions.
"Are you sure that's what you think? Because you've only seen one half of my face...." Dian took on a more serious look.
"Well then... Could you show me?" Gala was actually genuinely curious. Her horniness overwritten by innocent ignorance. Dian, however, was simultaneously relieved and pissed off. Relieved as someone actually asked to see under the mask instead of just assuming what was underneath. From where Dian came from, her family was know to be "monsters that hunt their own kin." The Cecht made their living and noble claim slaying all manner of things that go bump in the night. Many wore masks as it was the family's symbol, and also a manner of protection on the field. Dian was also pissed, as it took going to a whole different world for someone to finally ask her. Her anger took the lead on her response.
"Only those I consider family get to see under the mask. If you were too look now, I'd have to kill you." She said leaning over Gala, giving her an intimidating smile.
"Challenge accepted!" Gala smirked.
Dian smiled as she leaned back into place. "This bird is either stupid or brave. I might start liking her if she's the latter." She thought, as she closed her eyes and let out a singular quiet chuckle.
