The noise attracted attention, considering seraph slammed a girl's head full force into a wall… The bang echoed through the hallway and the whimpers and screams of the girl in Seraph's arms attracted a lot of attention.
The moment Princess Sela came toward the door, the maid yelled out for help "Help! He's gone mad! Help me please, princess!"
"Bastard!" Seraph's hold tightened, pushing his forearm harsher against her neck. The dagger in his hand went lower and poked against her gut, "Answer my question! Who the hell sent you!?"
Sela walked inside with a shocked expression. She stayed silent, her eyes drifting to the maid on the floor traces of blood came from her head, with a trace of blood that fitted in a dent on the wall.
As Seraph attempted to interrogate the maid, the maid continued to plead for help. Sela finally looked at seraph's back. She saw blood, the blood flowed down to his leg. She slowly came forward, her hand hovering above his wound.
A green light appeared in her hand, the light extended to the wound where the wound promptly sealed up completely. From the moment she came into the room, she was silent including the moment she healed him.
The guards arrived.
They were heavily armored, they all had spears in hand accompanied with a sheathed longsword along their waist. Their black armor could almost make them invisible in the shadows.
"Seraph, let her go. Please. Allow the guards to take them." Her voice was soft. This shocked the guards on their arrival, they recognized the princess at a glance but that voice sounded like it came from someone else. Seraph had heard her voice before but it was never this weak either… but he pulled away from the girl anyway.
The princess continued speaking to the guards, "Interrogate her. Use all methods to discern what she wanted to accomplish."
The maid dropped to the ground, then the guards grabbed her and pulled her away.
The maid went manic. As she was carried away she begged the princess and the guards to believe her.
"..." Seraph watched from his door as the maid was dragged away. Behind him, the princess stood motionless until the guards completely disappeared from view.
He pulled out the dagger from his hand, allowing it to clatter on the ground.
She embraced seraph from behind, her hand touching the place where he was previously wounded, She healed his hand. "I'm sorry."
"It's fine…" Seraph was sure that the maids didn't follow her orders. If the princess killed seraph, everything that she had done for him would go to waste. To pull him from the dangerous forest when he was exhausted, then to care for him and allow him to touch her. Then to kill him would make no sense at all.
Seraph felt the princess's head rub against his back, he closed the door.
Seraph attempted to comfort the princess, however, he had never done this before. The only time he remembered comforting someone… were his little step sisters when they first came into his life. Making him feel tense at the small memory…
She kept on holding onto him. When he got a sudden idea, however, the idea made him slightly nervous but he still was going to do it… Not too far, but far enough.
Seraph pulled the princess to his bed, she was still in her nightgown. The nightgown was elegant, it revealed her neck and accentuated her collarbone. The princess was startled, seraph had carefully placed her on the bed lying on her back as he stood over her.
"This shall make up for it." Seraph got on the bed and knelt above her face.
Sela closed her eyes preparing for a kiss, then she felt the sheets move around her making her heart race even more. Then seraph's warm body hugging along her waist…she waited for a long time for seraph to do something.
She peeked, only to find seraph. Resting his head on her tummy, his eyes gently closed. She felt the urge to protest but as if seraph could sense it, his mouth gently opened, "Become my pillow for tonight, then i might forgive you."
She opened and closed her mouth for some time. In the end, she could only abide by his childish order. However, she felt a little displeasure that he only asked that from her… 'You could've been a little more pushy…'
However, she didn't want to ruin this. Allowing her drowsiness to reach her eyes, she slowly fell to sleep.
…
In the morning, Seraph woke up before her. Getting dressed he picked up his book and began to read. The book really was filled to the brim with nice history about the dark elves, it didn't mask the good from the bad nor did it obscure history with vague lines. It was direct, informative and unbiased.
Something Seraph absolutely loved as would most historians. However, during a small section about an upcoming war in history. He read something about the king at that time, the king was recorded to be the strongest in the history of the dark elf kingdom. The author went deep into this king's life describing them more as an emperor than he was a king.
Seraph had learned of the many places, kingdoms, and people within the world through this book. The Dark Elf king of this time owned 40% of their known world… an achievement considering there were six other kingdoms at the time…
As he continued reading there was a small description saying how the dark elf king used martial arts. Accompanied with a page number, flipping he found a more detailed and lengthy description of the dark elf king's martial art. It was 4 pages long, continuing to flip along he found that there were other descriptions and techniques…
However, this section was completely biased. The author appeared to vent out his rage, in this section as when describing these techniques he called them 'trash unfit for the salmon and the insects of dark caves. The Barbarian to ever create this technique, deserved utter destruction, to even have called this a technique is an insult!'
Seraph eyebrows raised, he read this word for word from the book. Flipped back to where he left off, 'Did the author's personality change?' he flipped back and forth between the pages.
While describing history the author was completely elegant, However, when describing the actions of martial arts his words deformed to an elegant madness.
Seraph paused, looking at the martial arts section. Although the author's words were biased, he still had the decency to describe how to perform the martial arts.
He suddenly had an idea, 'System, can you look at this?'
The system gave a small ding sound. Then in the corner of his eyes, he saw a little progress before going up rapidly.
Seraph sped it up by reading the entire martial art which was only four pages, even though the author insulted the technique over and over again he was able to explain the technique accurately.
The technique, as described in the book, was defensive. It was called ' Church's Walls '. An odd name for the times, however, back then the dark elf kingdom had a good relationship with the church and the king was most likely a follower of the time.
It was focused on protecting the body. It was best utilized with a sword, it required a high endurance and utilized its mana defensively. The author described in further detail saying, 'Once fully learnt, it could barely block a single attack of mine. However, within the kingdoms it's best to call it a bigger ant among mere ants.'
The systems bar reached 100%, it then relayed a message.
[ D Class Skill, 'Church's Walls' Understood]
[ Mastery of skill allows User to block incoming attacks. 3 times. Cooldown 1 minute.]
'That's it? I can already block attacks…' Seraph felt disappointed.
[ Don't be an idiot. If the high elven guard had this technique when fighting you, your attacks would've never hit let alone touch him. ]
'What?' Seraph looked at the pages.
'What do you mean?' Seraph asked as he looked at the pages a little closer.
[ If user learns this skill, blocking attacks impossible for user to block will be blocked. ]
'Then why does the author call it trash?' Seraph looked at the skill in a different light.
[ The skill can still be overwhelmed with power. If a user fights a person ten times stronger than the user. That person will die because even blocking wouldn't even work. ]
'I see.' Seraph looked at the skill, 'Can I learn this skill?'
[Yes, System may allow user to learn this skill. User still has to practice skill in order for full mastery.]
[Church's Walls 0% Progress ]
