Seraph was a natural born tactician, he always thought ahead, he always knew what was going to happen next. However, during his time back on earth. He could only use this superior thought to do good in school and to know when and where he was going to get beaten.
He always had a plan, to get out of the beatings he received, however, all those plans inside of his head ended with a bloody ending. So he stuck to enduring, but now.. In this new world. He had more knowledge and more options, which of course led to more plans with a less bloodier ending.
…
Sela led Seraph around the school, showing him all the faculties of the gigantic school. Sela mentioned how the school was open to both noble families and poor families, as long as the child had some form of talent the school took them in to train.
Which is the reason why there were dorms outside of the main school, which were for the nobility who were too far away from the school in the outer regions of the kingdom and also for the poor families who couldn't afford to send their child to school via carriage everyday.
"Some of the more high end nobility despise this, however, there is a little student body to prevent these high nobility from causing too much trouble for the commoners." Sela carefully explained to seraph as they moved throughout the school.
"So I guess, even you have some class differences." Seraph, after reading the book, thought that the dark elves were a lot more diverse and happy.
"It's not like that. The Commoners are naturally weaker than the born and bred trained noble warriors at this school, we respect strength here. If a commoner proves that they have the strength no noble will get angry at them. It's also not uncommon for strong commoners to get married to the nobility." Sela continued to explain before stopping abruptly in front of a class.
"I see." Seraph looked at the classroom in front of them.
Sela went on to explain each and every single class in the school. The time she took to explain took an hour, in the end seraph was able to understood that there were four classes that he should attend.
He was going to attend all of Sela base classes, which was sword and spear, with also some magic studies only available for the nobles and commoners who could actually use mana. However, he veered from her course here. Instead of attending some more magical theory with Sela he insisted on going to Alchemy.
"Alchemy takes a long time to learn, you don't have enough time to learn if you were just starting now." Sela attempted to persuade Seraph.
However, Seraph with a wave of his hand spoke softly, "Alchemy is not the only reason why I'm attending this class."
"What? What do you mean?" Sela was taken aback.
"I think there might be someone there," Seraph remained mysterious. He then looked around, "I'll tell you at the castle, not here though." Seraph wanted to tell her, however, he thought that telling her in this school might be too inappropriate.
Alena and the Maid looked at each other, Seraph had really accumulated himself to this new environment too well… He was already making plans although he had been here for a few days.
Sela only sighed, "Alright, you better tell me in the carriage ride back home."
Seraph only nodded his head, then continued to follow her in each class. He was keen on observing people, he noticed the maid always followed Sela but didn't do much of anything at all.
After the three classes were finished, Seraph asked for the maid to follow him so he had someone to talk to. Sela agreed to the request immediately.
The school was very large, it was also a beautiful sight both in and outside the school. The floor was marbled like the palaces and inside each Instructors room it was like walking into a different world. Everything would be different, including the flooring and ceilings…
This was the same for the Alchemy Class, He entered the class and immediately he recognized that it was warmer inside. It was gentle and hugged his figure like a nice blanket which made him feel calmer than he already was, the maid behind him didn't react to sudden change in temperature.
"Why are you here?!" Seraph turned around to see a familiar Grail Quinn. The idiot he had beat in the library a few days ago.
"Who are you?" Seraph feigned ignorance.
"What the hell do you mean? 'Who am i!?' Wood elf!" Grail was already walking forward to beat Seraph up.
"I really don't know who you are." Seraph continued to feign ignorance.
"I'll show you, Who i am!" Grail kicked off the ground and lunged at Seraph.
Seraph's mind was calm, he tensed his body ready to move at a moment's notice. However, the second Grail lunged, he was thrown to the wall by an invisible force.
"You dare fight in my class?!" The teacher, a middle aged man, stood up from his seat, he had a floppy wizard hat and very long and thick black robes. He was a very recognizable man, he was tall standing at 6'1 with a fit body despite being a mage.
Grail gasped for air as he struggled to make a response, "N-No…"
Seraph looked to the teacher, "I'm sorry, sir. It appears that I've caused some trouble." Seraph then bowed his head to the teacher.
"You didn't do anything, just go to your seat." The teacher saw the entire situation. He also knew that Seraph was backed by the royal family… so he couldn't do anything at all to him no matter what he tried. He had to be fair in his judgement and he knew for a fact that grail started it so he sent grail out and continued the class.
Seraph swept his gaze across the class and smiled. He already knew that she was going to be here, but he was even more happy that his assumptions were even correct. Min Elong stood in front of a desk accompanied by her two butlers.
The Elong family, once held unbelievable status in the kingdom, holding many fortresses and businesses outside the kingdom but descended after the war with the high elves.
They were all very adept Alchemists, so they had to rely on the protection of the royal family, however, with most of their estates outside of the capital… they would've lost too much.
Seraph knew this all because of the book, the elong family were also once royalty inside the kingdom that fell from favor with the noble and people. The book may only mention their estates, Seraph had to do the mental work and connect the dots to understand their current position in the empire.
The Elong Family was a very good business family. However, they weren't good at war type classes. Which Seraph recognized when he barely saw Min in any other physical class.
'That history book really is detailed... ' Seraph was happy that he found it in the library.
Seraph approached, hands behind his back and a careful gentle smile plastered on his face. Min was able to recognize the signature black hair and dark eyes as soon as he entered the classroom, but she didn't expect him to approach her.
"Can you get me some water?" Seraph leaned to the side and whispered into the ear of the maid. She immediately nodded her head and then went off to get some water in the class.
She flusteredly put away some of her alchemy items, then cleared her throat, "Hello, Sir Morningstar."
Seraph let out a small chuckle, "Lady Elong, please do not call me that. Seraph shall do fine, we shall become the best of friends in the future after all."
She was taken aback, Seraph's elegant speech then his bold statement that the two of them shall become friends made her feel awkward. She cleared her mind and continued speaking , "What do you mean by that?"
"I have something to offer you, after class is over. How about attending the carriage with me and Princess Sela after school has ended?" Seraph was direct about his offer. "If you don't have time today, we can always reschedule it for some time inside the palace."
"I'm sorry but i can't atte-" Min was interrupted by seraph as he carefully received a glass of water from his maid.
"However, I think that you might really want this." The water in his hand slightly glistened after a slight touch.
"No- No Way!" Min almost screamed out, however she caught herself at the last moment and covered her mouth with her hands. Some people looked over here but Seraph didn't mind at all.
Seraph immediately placed the water down on the counter, in the next second it stopped glowing. He had only put in a slight bit of holy mana into the water, making the purity of the water of lesser quality and also last less longer.
The Instructor also wasn't looking over here, he was too busy writing down something for Grail's send out.
"Shh," Seraph placed a finger above his mouth, as he pulled closer to min while whispering into her ear "Let's speak of this more inside of the carriage ride home."
Min was frozen stiff, shocked that he could produce such a high level alchemy item and also shocked that he was so close to her… However, she didn't push him away, she shyly looked to the floor as she nodded while saying "Yes."
"Great!" Seraph clapped his hand together, "See, I told you we shall become the best of friends!"
