"How can this be dependent on my father and the king?" Min sat at attention. Her previous notions about Seraph had been changed, he was now more than a simple hero in her mind.
Seraph eyes drifted outside, "The king's estate is in need of money, especially after the many losses suffered in the war with the high elves…"
"With our deal, I'm sure the king wouldn't mind taking a little portion of the proceeds. If this was the case, I'm sure the nobility wouldn't look into our smaller contract and would look more into the major contract signed by the king and your father." Seraph began to rub his chin as he spoke, as if he was thinking things out as he spoke.
Sela interrupted "With this in place… What about your sovereign eldership?"
Seraph shrugged, "In order for this contract to work everything needs to be implemented in very inconspicuous ways. Which is the reason why I also need your father…" He looked at min as he spoke.
"Your father is a businessman, I'm sure he has dealt with these sorts of contracts" Seraph let his implication stay as he observed min's reaction.
She had pulled her head down in deep thought. Her butler, previously aggressive, had become docile like a kitten, looking at his master with shifty eyes and a drenched forehead filled with sweat.
"I understand, I'll ask my father when the time comes…" Min conceded in the end. Much to the surprise of her butler and to the happiness of Sela and her friends. Although the deal was not over yet and had to be discussed with both the king and her father it could be considered to be a done deal. As both parties would most likely agree.
"You surprise me, hero." Min spoke again, "You are way more intelligent than what my childhood stories say."
"What did your stories say?" Seraph asked with a puzzled expression.
"Heroes were brutes, without brains and without a clear plan or strategy. They only used pure and absolute power to overwhelm us dark elves…" Min recounted a few childhood stories and then even some real accounts of heroes. Seraph's impression of his predecessors didn't change.
He wouldn't say it out loud in front of all the dark elves present, but he viewed the heroes of the past as unparalleled geniuses. They were both strong in battle as they were cruel tacticians… What the dark elves mistake for barbarism, seraph saw surprising detailed acts of planned out events.
Seraph didn't say a word after her accounts of heroes. Min immediately thought that she had offended Seraph in some way so she began to stammer to fix her fault, "I-I mean! You're nothing like those heroes, you are better than them in all aspects."
Seraph finally showed some interest as he nodded, "No, we are the same. I have no interest in these types of matters…."
Min seeing seraph respond perked up and pulled him into some gentle small talk. Sela also joined in on this action, she couldn't tease seraph because they were seperated by alena so she resorted to breaking him down using her words…
However, after an entire minute… she couldn't break him down, his face barely moved an inch while Min who was enjoying small talk became a strawberry. Seraph mediated the situation until they arrived back home.
The carriage jolted. Clarifying that the carriage had fully stopped. Seraph was about to get out when he saw min, clear her throat and give him a meaningful look.
"You've hinted that you had no interest in politics and business, is that really true?" Her words played between the lines of seriousness and an eerie playfulness. Min was not the lady of the Elong House for no reason.
Seraph froze in place. His mind began to turn. Then a strange fascination made his way to his eyes and a gentle smile graced his face. He tilted his head as if Min was an exotic object, "Not entirely…"
The change in expression, even the tone of his voice was caught by everyone there. Min was about to follow the question up with another more serious question but his sudden change made her pause.
Seraph then left quickly. Sela watched Seraph's back as he left the carriage and a smile crept up on her face. She looked toward the surprised min and gave her some parting words before exiting the carriage.
Sela's interest in Seraph only increased. In under a week he was able to pull off something that had taken her years to achieve. He even controlled the entire conversation and didn't give up an inch. Sela never regretted her choice to save Seraph from his poor fate. To her it was the best thing that she ever did.
The only problem now was… He has changed too much! What happened to the shy and cute seraph on the first day? After he started relaxing his guard, he became more bold and his speech cleared. She only wished that she could tease him like before.
On their way inside, Seraph didn't speak to them. Sela was still thinking of ways to catch Seraph off guard and surprise him with a gift. She suddenly thought that it was better to ask seraph himself because she still knew basically next to nothing about seraph… even though she knew that seraph was a normal student.
Everything else seraph said to her was a mystery and was clearly a very extravagant lie. She didn't take it to heart because it was clearly a very obvious lie and seeing how good Seraph is at 'business' offers she believed it was a poor joke.
Sela leapt forward and wrapped her soft mountains around his arm.
Seraph paused as his face turned bright red like a tomato.
Sela looked up at him and was frightened, her arm looped around his while her other hand was pulled to his chin. She grabbed his chin and looked at his face more closely.
Seraph couldn't pull away from her. He was exhausted after so much social interaction on this singular day. He was also still recoiling mentally from that severe teasing he received on the carriage. Seraph opted to evade her eyes and looked away from her in a very embarrassed manner.
Sela's eyes peered at him in slight surprise, her teasing on the carriage clearly had an effect on him. A playful glint flashed in her eye, something Seraph wasn't too keen on seeing, she pouted her lips and spoke in a very mocking tone, "Poor baby…"
There were only four people in the hallway. Seraph was being slyly pulled into the wall by Sela… leaving the other two amazed and embarrassed. Amazed that Seraph could end up in such a state after that deal and Embarrassed that their princess was being so lewd...
Seraph was backed into the corner, he was played with by Sela to her heart's content. She had kissed him many times and urged him to devour her right here, however, Seraph thought about his plans, he wanted his bible back and this might delay it.
So he rejected the princess. Who respected his wishes.
….
Seraph had walked back to his room after the event, Sela's maid seemed to accompany him all the way to his room and stayed with him as he picked up the history book about the kingdom and began to read it.
Her actions gave him some suspicion that the princess might be spying on him so he asked her directly, "What are you doing?"
The sweet and gentle maid smiled and spoke softly "You asked the princess, if I can follow you. She agreed so I have to follow you."
Seraph looked at her oddly, she wasn't lying… but he expected for that to be temporary. He cleared his throat, "Sorry, you can leave now…"
"You don't need to apologize." The maid bowed her head. Her clothes stuck tightly to her chest and when she bent down her cleavage was revealed to seraph who instinctively looked away to preserve the maids modesty.
He coughed into his hand, "It was my fault for not realizing it…" Seraph kept his gaze away from her. Her figure was seductive and she was a beauty in all regards, just a little bit different than Sela.
The maid looked up, " …" She stayed silent for a bit, before saying "Mr Morningstar, Can i tell you something?"
Seraph nodded his head, he glanced back and saw that she was no longer bowing so he looked her straight in the eye. Seraph was very loyal, after taking the virginity of the princess and receiving her constant trust and affection he thought that it was improper of him to look at any other woman like that.
Seraph raised his hand before she spoke, "By the way, you don't need to be formal with me... "
She nodded before carefully saying, "My name is Katie…"
Seraph's eyebrow raised, that name didn't sound like it was dark elven enough. However, that could only be the case for dark elf nobility…
She stayed silent for a long time, before abruptly bowing down again, "That's all I shall take my leave…"
Seraph accidentally got an eye full of her chocolate smooth mounds. Causing him to cough and nod his head, "Alright…"
…
After, Katie left. Alena came in. She didn't even knock on the door, she just opened the door unannounced then immediately locked it behind her with her hands behind her back. Her face was obscured by a thick shadow…
A thick long silence descended the crescent room. Alena didn't speak, she was like a swift shadow that came into the room on a whim and Seraph didn't look none the wiser. In fact, it seemed that seraph didn't even notice her arrival.
Alena however, knew that Seraph knew that she was there. The library incident proved that Seraph can easily sense out people watching him. She still didn't move though, she didn't even make a slight noise.
She stood there quietly. While, seraph carefully flipped through the pages of his book with some tea on the table. He had turned off all of the lights in the room except for one of the corner lights which he dimmed down to a golden brown color that clung to the table and him.
…
Sela was seated on an elegant chair. She held a tea cup with her pinky extended, while her other hand cupped a small little glass coaster that rested on her thighs. She pressed her lips on the edges of the tea cup and took a small sip of it before returning it to her coaster.
She looked in front of her at a very big glass ball, she was as nearly eye-catching as the bombshell of a beauty right next to her. The beauty next to her was more eye-catching in the fact that it looked like a more mature version of Sela…
If Seraph was here to see it, he would probably mistake it for her. However, they were noticeably different in the fact that they were some sizes bigger than her… with dark purple eyes and she wore purple lipstick that sela never wore.
Next to this beauty, was a royal guard. However, he looked different from the rest in the fact that he had his helmet off and his armor was spikier.
