"Sela, Dearest. It's been so long since we've had some proper mother daughter time!" Queen Jezebel cuddly tilted her head while clasping her hands together. She was covered head to toe in foreign items and the latest fashion.
"We had tea last week, mom." Sela lips curled. She elegantly held her tea in hand and took another small sip as they were conversing with each other.
"It felt like an eternity! You had me worried the entire week about that hero and you even went to your father!" She gasped dramatically, "You never go to your father for anything!..."
Seeing her mother, the queen. Begin to recount all of her actions for the entire week. Sela slowly remembered how attentive and carrying her mother was and how it was a blessing to have a mother like her but also scary how her mother-like stalker monitored her every single action she took for the entire week.
"Mom!" Sela had to practically leap out of her chair to get mother to stop, "I'm fine! Everythings fine."
Jezebel paused, then frowned as she began to mopily speak, "Once I heard that you encountered a hero I nearly wept myself to sleep. So I just had to monitor the entire situation…"
"I heard mom, I also heard that you almost ran away from work again" Sela stared daggers at her mom causing her to jump. "So I had to set up this tea party with you to stop you from…"
Sela flipped her wrist a few times before completing her sentence "Destroying half of the castle."
Jezebel merely laughed it off, while opening an elegant handheld fan in front of face to cover her embarrassment. "You can't blame a mother for worrying about her daughter, eh heh heh."
"This is a repeat offense! You almost did it last year when you didn't see me for two days!" Sela firmly placed down her tea causing her mother to jump again.
"Let's forget about that!" Jezebel immediately attempted to change topic, "I heard about, 'Seraph' the hero… I also heard that your relationship with him isn't common either."
Jezebel had a bodyguard. Thouten, who was the youngest of the royal guard and considered a genius within the empire, he was currently being treated like a third wheel in the conversation. He was teetering between the lines of listening to the conversation and daydreaming.
However, this line of questioning made him peek up. Every man in the empire wanted the Princess, he for one especially believed that the princess and him were meant for each other but he couldn't overwrite the rule for her arranged marriage. So he intently listened to their conversation now.
Sela immediately beamed, "Yes! He's amazing, mother, you should've seen what he did today!"
Jezebel, who had only mentioned it to change the conversation, was stunned when she saw her daughter react like this. She was never before interested in Seraph, she knew heroes better than she did her own race.
She even considered herself an expert on them. She could barely sense Seraph's presence and thought that he was a very weak thing. However, now it turns out that he had done something amazing?
"What did he do?" Jezebel responded with real genuine curiosity.
"He has done something that has taken me years to do! Do you remember the crow family?" Sela began to explain, with jezebel doing an affirming nod. Sela took the opportunity to explain everything that had happened today in the carriage.
Sela didn't hold back on her detailed story either, she even explained when she made moves toward the hero much to the surprise of Jezebel and Thouten. She gushed about his looks, praised every single minute thing about him. She ended it with a sigh, "He's perfect, however, I wish he was just more bold in his approach toward me."
Thouten was shocked in the background, his face went through a mixture of colors before stopping to a tinge of red. He didn't know what seraph looked like but he wanted to humiliate them. He had incredible control over his body though, he was able to conceal his harsh rage and appear indifferent.
"Ahem," Jezebel had to clear her throat, "He sounds amazing dear, but don't place all your trust into him. He's a hero and he could just be using you…"
"I don't think so, he's loyal and he has already proven to be enemies with the high elves." Sela began to recall when she had found Seraph in the first place. Alena had brought Sela back with him.
Alena had gone to a raided village to see mostly everyone dead, she went into the forest to find the culprits, however, she had mistaken seraph for the culprit and attacked him only after the pleading of the children did she realize her mistake.
"He sounds amazing, dear…." Jezebel spoke with a tinge of disbelief. "Wait, is that why your father went away from his bed?"
"Yes, I wanted to keep him. Daddy went and ordered a few maids to heal him then looked at him and only gave him a nod." Sela sounded proud.
"I want to see him." Thouten finally spoke, his relationship with the two girls here was friendly. That was also the only reason why he was even able to witness the conversation.
"Me too!" Jezebel exclaimed then pleading looked toward her daughter, leaning forward and grabbing her hands in between her own clasped hands, "Please?!" She pouted her lips as she spoke.
Sela slapped away her mothers hands, "Yeah, I want to see him to."
Jezebel now with permission, hovered her hand over the glass ball in the middle of the table. A thick fog extended from beneath the ball like smoke, it entered the air and formed a huge gassy mirror in the air.
They peered through the mirror and found Seraph casually reading a book.
"You're right… he's a bit handsome." Jezebel bit her bottom lip.
"Mom!" Sela immediately sent a glare toward her.
"What?" Jezebel pretended to be confused.
"He's mine and only mine! No one else's!" Sela affirmed her stance.
Jezebel pouted, "Come on… You know that you can't hide such an amazing person from everyone."
"Don't continue, he would never cheat on me anyway. I heard from katie-" Sela was stopped by her mother.
"The maid?" Jezebel interest peaked.
"Yes! She told me that when she entered Seraph's room, Seraph avoided looking at her and even went to the extent of controlling his emotions around her." Sela sounded proud.
"O-" Jezebel opened her mouth when she heard an abrupt slam from the large smoke screen.
Looking up she saw that someone had entered seraph's room and had slammed the door right behind them. Seraph hadn't moved an inch, instead he continued reading his book like nothing had happened at all.
However, what was more interesting for everyone there was that the figure that had just entered his room was a woman.
"Are you sure, he won't cheat on you?" Thouten could immediately recognize the figure on the screen.
Seraph's head in the video suddenly jerked, he looked directly into the screen. His eyes were dark and almost pitch black almost fading into the darkness of his room. His face contrasted against the warm feeling of the room making him look like eternal ice.
Thouten immediately jumped back, "Can he see us?"
Jezebel didn't say a word instead, she raised her hand and the dense fog hovering above the glass ball thickened and hardened. However, Seraph still stared in their direction. His hand was even slowly lowering the book as his lips parted, "What did you do?"
Each word was laced in malice. Which threw Alena who was in the room aback, however, she didn't respond and instead began to contemplate what she was about to say.
Jezebel, poured mana into the glass orb and after another second. Seraph stopped looking in their direction. She breathed out a sigh of relief.
Sela and Thouten who were in the room were surprised, Thouten asked first, "What just happened?"
Jezebel gave a very vague answer, "He has very keen senses…"
Sela and Thouten looked at her in confusion. Having keen senses couldn't completely explain it. The spell was a very high classed spell, most people wouldn't be able to sense it and even if they sensed it they would only know that someone was watching them, they wouldn't be able to guess from which direction.
Alena, who had kept her back against the door, held her head down and finally opened her lips, "I'm sorry."
The Trio began to listen intently, Sela almost couldn't believe the people in the video was Seraph and Alena.
Seraph didn't say anything, instead, he got up from his chair and approached her with easy and even steps. Each of his steps sounded measured and orderly. HIs expression didn't change either.
He stopped in front of her, "What do you want?"
Alena felt the need to squeeze herself into the door and disappear, she had never felt like this before. She felt her chest squeeze together like a rope was tied around her heart.
Seraph sighed, "If you have nothing to say, leave." He turned around.
Alena looked up shocked, she suddenly leapt forward and grabbed his hand. Seraph turned around and looked at her, her other arm cutely cuddled his bible. His expression lightened as he also was able to see her face.
She looked like a child who had done something wrong. Seraph turned around and pulled away his hand from her grasp with a gentle smile forming on his face.
"I-I'm sorry… I really didn't mean to... " Alena was stuttering over her words. An odd sight for Seraph to see.
"Just forgive me… please?" Alena presented the bible to seraph.
Seraph took it from her hand, looked at it for a moment before looking back at her, "Why are you giving this to me? I thought you won it in a battle?"
Alena seemed to wince at his words, "I…" she shook her head, "When you first met me, I put you into critical condition… Then I learned that you saved those kids. I regret that- I carried you all the way back to the princess and pleaded for her to save you."
She let out a deep sigh, "Then after that you saw me for the first time again, not on the battlefield. you weren't angry at me, you didn't even want revenge for what i did… instead you were shy and scared, nothing like the warrior I fought on the field.."
Seraph had led Alena to the coffee table and sat her down, he even placed some tea in front of her because the poor girl looked like she was on the brink of tears. For what reason he didn't know.
She continued on with her story, "However, I know that wasn't the case. You didn't care that I fought you and you lost. You didn't care that I was the one who injured you…You were just that nice of a person. so I wanted to make you hate me… It felt good at first, but I couldn't do it in the end."
Seraph had sat down and patiently listened to her.
