Chapter 10 - Ch.10: Confrontation

A shadowy figure that gave off a murky and dangerous aura appeared from the ground in front of me.

'What the actual f*ck? I swear if I live past today I better be able to do that!' Although I was facing danger, I was still amazed by the shadowy figure.

"Why have you intruded upon my sacred garden?" Although it was a question, it was more like the shadowy figure was making a statement. I could feel the dangerous aura coming from it growing larger and larger. Ever since I broke through to the Spirit Warrior realm, I became more sensitive to energies and other strange things in the air.

"I-I...my friend!" If I could see my own face right now, I bet I'd be as red as a tomato. Instead of feeling terrified, I felt incredibly embarrassed that I could only manage to say 3 words. I couldn't even circulate my own magical energy to try and form a phoenix, and even if I could I wouldn't dare to do it. The shadowy goop figure might pop my head off like a 5-year-old playing with Yarbie Dolls.

"Is this your friend?" The shadowy figure questioned as a bubble of goop came from the ground. The bubble of goop turned out to be none other than my possible friend Lillia. She looked stressed rather than scared when I looked at her.

"Yes-s," I responded as I looked at Lillia then the shadowy figure. It seemed like he wasn't in a good mood so I didn't want to anger him anymore or he might kill Lillia.

After responding to the shadowy figure, the dangerous aura around it that started to encompass my feet started to recede, although rather slowly.

"Hmph, you have two choices. Sacrifice yourself for her to live or sacrifice her for yourself to live." The shadowy figure said in a menacing tone.

'You're kidding.' I could feel my heart beating nearly out of my chest as I listened to the words of the shadowy figure. Neither of the choices was good, for obvious reasons. If I sacrifice myself, then I die. Simple. But if I sacrifice Lillia, she'll either die or be tricked into thinking I betrayed her after I leave and then come for me and kill me.

After not answering for a minute or so, the shadow figure started to chuckle.

"Perhaps there is another choice. If you help me with my garden then I'll let you and your friend leave scot-free." It said while laughing.

The dangerous aura from earlier was receding at a faster pace now.

"Hm? Repeat that last sentence?"

"If you help me with my garden then I'll let you and your friend leave scot-free." The shadowy figure said as he dropped Lillia on the ground.

There was no choice but for me to take that choice so I pitifully wheelchair-ed over to Lillia and hit a specific button on my wheelchair.

'Hehehehehehe! Duplication!' I yelled in my head as another wheelchair connected to mines appeared. I pulled out the leg rest and painfully lifted Lillia up onto the wheel...okay, okay, I dragged her across the ground and put her on the wheelchair the best I could. What am I to do with crippled legs?

Then I pitifully wheelchair-ed behind the shadowy figure as we made our way through the creepy forest. To my surprise, I didn't see any shadows or feel anything looking at me the entire time I followed the shadow figure.

'I guess this guy really is the master of the forest or something... I MEANT WOMAN HOLY SMOKES!'
