"Robin where did you get this money from?" she shouted
"It's none of your business" he shouted back. Immediately, she slapped him twice for shouting back at her and he turned away holding his left cheek with his right hand. Then it dawned on Susan that she missed it somewhere in their upbringing.
"Molly makes things easier for me than you do Robin" she lamented in a high tone. At this time Molly overheard her name and thought Susan asked her to make fried eggs for her, then she proceeded and places oil on fire.
"Now it's all about Molly right?" Robin asked angrily
"Yes it's all about her Robin" she replied "Despite her silly behavior, she still gives me peace of mind than you do. Molly wouldn't earn this amount of money and not hesitate to tell me where its coming from" she added
"Oh now you worry about the source of my money mom?" Robin asked as he opened the door and walked out and Susan followed him quickly.
"Where are you going Robin" she asked "Where are you going to I asked" she questioned as he pulled him back. As Molly poured in the eggs into the frying pan, she heard Susan and Robin raising voices at each other. Then she rushed out to know what's going on.
"I'm leaving your miserable presence mom" he shouted as he turned and rushed down the stairs. Susan rushed to the door before him and locked it. Now Molly can hear them clearly and interpret something is wrong.
"You are going nowhere Robin" she said as she sat down in the sofa holding onto the door's key angrily
"Mom, what's wrong?" Molly asked
"Your brother rubs banks and stores the money in his room" she replied
"Robin what's the matter, what money is mom talking about?" Molly asked calmly
"Oh shut the fuck up" he shouted at Molly and turned away still fuming in anger
"Mom, Robin bought some foodstuffs for the house" Molly said
"What foodstuffs?" she asked and paused for a while but got no reply "Robin get yourself to that kitchen right now and take those foodstuffs out of my house before I'm back" Susan said angrily and left the house Leaving just Robin and Molly.
Molly tried to walk away calmly but was prompted to talk to Robin while he went back to his room.
"You know; I think you should give mom some peace of mind. Tell her how you got the money and she will let you be" she advised
"Molly, mom lost her job, what am I supposed to do" he turned and replied
"I know about that but telling her the source of the money wouldn't make you less human" She said
Then he shook his head and said "I've got no explanation for anyone" and headed back to his room
"Oh really" she said and followed him suit "You know your attitudes can be hazardous to mom's health right?" she asked as she followed him into his room. "So now I've got the attitude" he asked angrily
"Yes Robin, you should be mom's fortress and not some sort of…" she tried to clear her point but he interrupted her immediately
"Oh spare me that blames, you have suddenly forgotten how I carry most of the responsibilities her, handle the bills and all that I do?"
"Maybe that's not enough, you don't care about how one feels towards your silly attitudes. You pull up stunts like everyone should deal with the dusts you raise. It's not just about paying bills and carrying responsibilities but showing how much you care" she replied carelessly with her arms crossed underneath her breast.
"Really" he said in amazement
"Yeah" she replied
"I see" he concluded raising his eyebrows.
While they were lost in arguments, Margie came into the house unannounced. But was chocked by smoke all over the place.
"Oh my God what's going on here" she asked coughing out loud. Then she noticed it was coming from the kitchen.
"Ah" she shouted at the sight of fire on the gas cooker. She quickly stretched her hand to the fire extinguisher on the right side of the wall covering her mouth and nose with the other hand and put off the fire. She still coughed as she left the kitchen and staggered her way through the stairs.
"Oh God I can barely see" she said "Who's here?" she asked still coughing as she opened Robin's door unnoticed
"You think you are worth it with your weird character and looks huh?" Robin asked angrily
"Yes I am Robin" she replied meanly
"Can you guys stop this" Margie shouted but was ignored
"Interesting" she said laughing "So tell me why mom still doesn't regard you as anything openly? Tell me why you have no friends since you care so much?"
"Robin stop" Margie warned but was ignored the second time
"Tell me why dad has to die four months into your conception Molly" he still asked meanly "Everything you come in contact with goes wrong, why?" he added
"You see Robin, no matter how awful you try to portray me, you can never be better than me" she said in a low tone and left in disappointment.
"You are wrong about her" Margie said and left as well
Molly rushed out of the house in tears. Margie tried to catch up with her and calm her down.
"It's ok Molly" she said but she cried the more
She went straight to Douglas's lab where she worked to cry out her eyes. Molly narrated all that happened to him, he felt bad and tried to console her.
"You know he is right" she said sniffing "I am disastrous" she said as tears rushed down her cheeks heavily.
"You are not my dear, you are amazing Molly" he said looking intently at him "if anyone will be proud of who you are today, its Donald. Wipe your tears and do not let this get to you" Douglas advised. "Always know I will be there for you" he assured
"Same here dear" Margie added as she hugged her tightly "please wipe your tears" She said smiling. Molly listened to then and wiped her tears.
"I really want to make my dad proud, even if nobody appreciates me"
"Be strong dear" Margie chipped in while rubbing her back
Then she continued "I want to take up dad's cloning project but" she said sadly
"But what?" Douglas asked curiously
"Mom said she doesn't know what happened to the project after his death" she replied
"That's not true" he said
"What?" she asked
"Picasso, Donald's friend took up the project in the memory of your father. But because the government lost interest in the project he left Gozax for Losuzy city to earn a living and probably continue with the project over there. And Susan knows about it." he explained. Molly seemed lost for a while.
"Why will mom hide this away from me" she wondered.
"I don't know" he replied
"How do I get anything about the project to start with and consequently search for Picasso?" she asked
"Maybe you should check out his library" Margie advised
"I think that will help" Douglas affirmed.
