Chapter 2 - The animal thing

"Dear Robin wake up" Susan said as she opened Robins door

"I'm up mom, Good morning" He replied as she turned sluggishly to the other side of his bed.

"You are not up Robin" Susan said again still standing by the door

"I am mom, at least my eyes are open" He replied raising his head to confirm he is awake.

"Alright, do get off the bed for the day's activities" She asserted.

"I'm sick and tired of waking you both up every morning" She thought as she proceeded quickly for Molly's room.

"Molly is just worse, heavens help me" As she opened Molly's door, she beckoned on her angrily "Molly will you be responsible for once and get your ass of the bed" Not getting any response she quickly traced the bulb's switch, with her right hand to the left side of the wall and switched it on.

"Oh my God" She shouted in fear with her eyes wide open.

"What is it mom? "Molly asked curiously as she jumped up from sleep.

"Why in heavens name will you keep this scary thing in your room?" She asked pointing at the wall.

"Oh, mom you scared me , that's a lion's head mask, there's nothing wrong with it" Molly replied as she laid back on the bed sluggishly.

"Molly, it's scary. You should be mindful of these things" She said with concern as she sat down close to Molly. After a while of starring at her daughter.

"How are you dear?" Susan asked touching her cheeks.

"I'm fine mom, how was your night?" Molly asked as she turned to her mom.

Molly is ta 23 years old, Fair complexioned young lady. Her facial arrangement and expressions always gives a weird outlook that makes her different from everyone else. Her eye balls are bulgy and rolls round freely in its socket like a pinball whenever she wants it to, her eyes are separated by a nasal bone pointing fort her nose which is flanked by her puffed cheek whenever she laughs.

Her dentition looks clustered with little or no gap separating her semi-white teeth from each other. Her laughter always seemed different because her middle two incisors always comes out first like that of a rabbit followed by other teethes in a jam packed arrangement. Her upper lips push up her nose to contrast the eyes a bit when she laughs giving her a rare look. Her milk colored hair can be spotted from anywhere. In her fifth grade she got a part of her hair colored with ink which made her look less ordinary.

Everything about her seems unusual. One wouldn't say she ugly or beautiful because of her beautiful soul and awkward face. Her less concern and insignificant attention to fashion makes her appear shabby and naive most often. Although, Margie helps to sharpen her fashion sense, little or no difference is always achieved. It's either she misses her color combinations or the cloth is way bigger than her. "On a very good day you will comfortably wear an unprocessed animal skin as clothes." Margie will tiss.

Molly's love for animals over shadows everything that needs to be looked into in her life. Socially she is dumb, financially unstable, spiritually not recommendable and physically below the zero line. The only thing that impresses or entices her is animals. Her love for animals made her go to school and obtained a Bachelor of science degree certificate in Veterinary medicine at Tokex science college. Love for animal's trait in her father is not missing, she has it all.

"I'm fine dear" Susan replied looking round Molly's room in amazement.

"Where in God's name do you get all these wild life pictures" She asked again in curiosity.

Molly looked up and then to her mom smiling "It's very easy mom" she replied as she moved her head to the left very close to her cat.

At the sight of Molly's room, one will declare it's an animal's gallery. Close to the door, from the right stands the statue of a giant tiger. Her cat will always mew at every sight of it. The reading table is just at the comfort sight close to the tiger because she always loves caressing its hairs while reading.

Close to her bed stands a head lamp that has animal stickers stamped all over it. Directly over the head of her bed stands a very big parrot statue she named Chokey which means its throat is choked that's why it can't talk. Her wardrobe stands close to the lion's mask Susan saw while she stepped into the room this morning. Every part of the wall has a large album of aquaculture, mammals, wild animals, birds, reptiles and insects all over it except one, the family picture. Her life seems to be stocked with animals.

All her actions, vocal signs and behavioral gestures radiates that of animals. She got absorbed into the similarities with animals over time. At the end of each day her conversations are either with Margie, Chokey or the giant tiger. Even though she gets no response from them, she has no one else to talk to.
