It's now Saturday. A day since I joined the club. I'veĀ been searching for a few things for the club and regarding where we will first go. Robin informed me that he'll be the first one to choose our firstĀ destination and I'll pick the next one, then we'll takeĀ turns. I'm kind of excited about this club.Ā
I glanced at the clock. It was already 6 pm. Family dinner was in an hour. Getting off my bed, I went to myĀ wardrobe, grabbing the black dress sleeveless beforĀ changing into it. I wore a cream colored cardigan overĀ it because Connor would throw a fit if he saw meĀ wearing something a bit revealing for his taste. I woreĀ flats before tying my hair up into a ponytail.Ā Ā
As I was turning off my laptop when my phone vibrated. I glanced at this, checking if someone important messaged me.Ā
ššæš¼šŗ šØš»šøš»š¼šš» š”ššŗšÆš²šæ: Hey, it's Robin. Save my number.Ā We have a lot to talk about the clubĀ Ā
š§š¼ šØš»šøš»š¼šš» š”ššŗšÆš²šæ: How did you even get my number?Ā Ā
ššæš¼šŗ šØš»šøš»š¼šš» š”ššŗšÆš²šæ: Lincoln. Save my number. I'll seeĀ you on MondayĀ Ā
I shook my head before saving his number. I slipped my phone inside the bag before heading downstairs.Ā
My brothers were dressed up nicely. They were bothĀ wearing their suit and their hair was combed nicely asĀ well. We always do this whenever we have a familyĀ dinner. It was our tradition every month.Ā
"Where's your girlfriend, Cole?" I asked as soon as weĀ stepped out of the house.Ā
"I'm picking her up. Both of you go ahead and meet up with Charlie at the restaurant." Cole ordered before walking over to his car.Ā
"What's up with him?" I muttered to Connor as soon we drove away from the house. "Why is he such a sourpuss today?"Ā
Connor shrugged. "Maybe he was forced to take a case again." He said, bitterly.Ā Ā
"I hope not." I frowned. "The last time he did that, it caused a lot of trouble."Ā Ā
"Let's just hope that he doesn't take it because weĀ know that it won't end well."Ā
Taking the car to valet, Connor and I went to the tableĀ where we were reserved to be where we found Charlie talking to someone on the phone. He looked annoyed andĀ mad. He ended the call as soon as he saw us approachingĀ the table.Ā Ā
"Is everything alright?" Connor asked before sitting in between Charlie and I.Ā
Charlie nodded. "Just exhausted." He muttered. "I hate calculus."Ā Ā
I rolled my eyes at him.Ā Ā
After a few minutes, Cole arrived with his girlfriendĀ for five years, Alison. I am still surprised that ColeĀ hasn't popped the question yet after getting back together with her.Ā Ā
"Something is up." I pointed out. "Your auras are intense today. Is something wrong?" I asked a bit worried. "Oh, you took a case you didn't want, did you?" I asked.Ā Ā
Cole furrowed his brows before bursting into laughter.Ā "No. It's noā"Ā
"Did Cole cheat?" Charlie asked, suspiciously.Ā Ā
Connor waved it off. "He isn't like that. We all knowĀ that Cole is so whipped for Alison, he'd jump in front of a bus for her." He said, making Alison blush.Ā Ā
"He proposed." Alison announced, showing the shiny ring on her ring finger. "I'm engaged. We're engaged."Ā Ā
"Congratulations!"Ā Ā
"We need champagne!" Charlie announced.Ā Ā
An hour after eating, they began to drink. I couldn'tĀ drink because I was still a underage, so I settled with iced tea. After an hour, Charlie was drunk andĀ unconscious, causing us to laugh.Ā Ā
"You guys go home. I'm driving Charlie to his dorm." I said after we successfully placed the unconsciousĀ Charlie inside the passenger seat of his car.Ā Ā
"You sure, Callie?" Alison asked, concerned. "We canĀ ask someone else to do it."
I nodded, eagerly. "Yup" I said, popping the 'p'.Ā Charlie wouldn't want us to let someone else drive his precious car. "Don't worry about me. I'm a big girl, IĀ can handle myself. I still have the pepper spray you gave me."Ā Ā
"Good." Connor said. "Spray it in Charlie's bestĀ friend's face." He said with a grin.Ā Ā
"Stay safe, Ali." Cole said, waving off before enteringĀ the car.Ā Ā
I grabbed the keys from Charlie's pockets beforeĀ hopping inside the car and starting the ignition. I started to drove away from the restaurant.Ā Ā
I haven't driven since the day I passed my driver'sĀ license test. I kinda miss driving. I should ask myĀ brothers if I could drive again.Ā Ā
After about thirty minutes, I arrived outside of theĀ dormitory buildings of Qetsiyah Academy. I pulled outĀ my phone, dialling Toby's number.Ā Ā
"Hello?" Toby asked in a raspy voice.Ā
"Toby, I'm in front of the dormitory. Charlie's drunk.Ā I need help." I said, poking my cousin to check if he's still alive. Fortunately, he moved and grumbled. "He'sĀ unconscious and drunk."Ā Ā
Toby chuckled. "Is he going full on emo mood?" heĀ asked, curiously. I could hear him getting off bed and putting on his shoes in the background.Ā Ā
I snickered. "No. Not yet." I muttered, glancing at my cousin. "Hurry please. I don't want to miss the bus." IĀ said before ending the call.Ā Ā
After a couple of minutes, a knock on the window made meĀ jump and making Toby smirk in amusement. I got out ofĀ the car, pouting.Ā Ā
"I hate you, Toby." I stated.Ā Ā
He rolled his eyes, pulling me into a hug. "I miss youĀ too, Callie. '' he cooed before pulling away from theĀ hug. "Let's get your drunk cousin up before he starts going emo mood."Ā Ā
I cringed. "You have to take him. I need to help home.Ā I have to take the bus. I have multiple quizzes coming up and I need to study." I said, making Toby frown.Ā
"It's almost eleven, Calistine. Are you sure you wantĀ to take the bus? You can take Charlie's caā"Ā Ā
"No." I quickly said. "He needs his car. I have to goĀ now." I smiled, handing him the keys. "See you soon,Ā Toby." I gave him a small wave before walking away.Ā Ā
"Stop." He said, pulling me back. He pulled his hoodieĀ over his head before handing it to me. "Wear it. It's freezing."Ā
"Thanks." I mumbled, putting the hoodie over my head.Ā "Take care, Tobias. Don't hurt yourself." I sang beforeĀ walking away.Ā Ā
The bus stop was a but far from the QetsiyahĀ Dormitories Building, so I had to walk. It was dark andĀ thee street lights kept blinking. I'm kinda regretting not taking Charlie's car.Ā Ā
I heard a ruffling sound from behind, making my headĀ turn around. No one was there. I could've sworn I sawĀ someone from my peripheral vision. I took a deep breathĀ as I continued walking. I slowly slipped my hand inside my bag, gripping the pepper spray.Ā
Once I heard footsteps again, I pulled out the pepperĀ spray, spraying it on the person's face. My eyes widened in shock as the man fell to the ground.Ā Ā
"What the hell, Walker?" Rhys seethed.Ā Ā
"Montecillio?" I exclaimed. "You were the man following me?" I exclaimed. "Why the hell are you following me, you creep?"Ā Ā
Rhys was groaning in pain as he held his eyes. Huffing, I helped him up and we walked over to the convenientĀ shop that was close by. Gosh, what on earth is happening?Ā Ā
"Here." I muttered, handing him an ice pack and water.Ā Ā
He shivered and winced once he rinsed his eyes with the cold water before placing the ice pack onĀ his eyes. "Are you crazy, Walker?"Ā Ā
"What?" I asked, furrowing my brows.Ā Ā
"Why did you spray that on my face?" he asked, glancingĀ at me. "Please don't tell me it's pepper spray orĀ maze."
I sighed in relief as I saw that it wasn't pepperĀ spray. If it was, I have to take him to the hospitalĀ and that'll be a long process.Ā Ā
"Relax. It's Perfume." I answered. "What were you even doing? Were you following me?" I narrowed my eyes atĀ him.Ā Ā
He scoffed in disbelief. "Do you actually think I'dĀ follow you?" he asked. "I was walking by when you sprayed me with perfume!" he hissed.Ā Ā
I sighed heavily. "Sorry. I just don't have goodĀ experiences with walking alone at night." I muttered.Ā Ā
He raised a brow at me, curiously. "Then, why walk at night?"Ā Ā
"How am I supposed to go home if I don't walk to the bus stop?" I huffed. "Are you alright now? I really need to get home."Ā Ā
He moved the ice pack away from his face beforeĀ speaking. "I'm walking with you." He said, standing upĀ as he threw the ice pack in the trash. He started walking and I stared at him in disbelief. "Well, areĀ you waiting for an invitation?" he asked, side glancing.Ā Ā
"If you try anything, I won't hesitate to spray you again."Ā I warned, walking next to him.Ā Ā
He rolled his eyes at me. "Are you always thisĀ cautious, Walker?"Ā
"Only to the people I don't know very well,Ā Montecillio." I answered. "I don't trust people whoĀ just casually walks behind someone during night time."Ā
"You don't need to worry, woman."
