"Tell me, Montecillio, why are you doing at the other side of the town?" I asked as we walked to the bus stop.
"Visiting an old friend." He answered, nonchalantly. "Why were you wandering alone at this hour?"
"I drove my cousin home. He was drunk." I replied, slipping my hands into the pockets of the hoodie Toby lend me.
He yawned. "You know, you shouldn't be walking around at this hour. It's dangerous."
I smirked. "Are you concerned about me, Montecillio? That's sweet." I teased.
Rhys scoffed. "Just saying. Less tragedy, the better. I'd very much want to graduate without everyone mourning a death of a classmate because she was dumb enough to walk around at the middle of the night." He commented a bit too harshly.
"I won't die, you idiot. I've survived worse." I murmured. "Worst than a teenager should ever experience."
"What was that?" Rhys asked, his brows slightly furrowed.
"Nothing." I said, stopping in front of the bus stop. "Thanks for walking me. I appreciate it." I gave him a small smile.
"Can you go on your own or are you a child that needs to be chauffeured home?" he asked with a lazy smirk plastered on his face, glancing at the bus that was stopping.
I rolled my eyes at him. "Good bye, Montecillio. I'll see you on Monday." I said before hopping inside the bus.
Before I knew it, it was already Monday and I was inside of Harry's car. We were heading to the nearest coffee shop to get some coffee before heading to school. We just went to the drive thru, so that it doesn't have to be a hassle.
"Hey, thanks for recommending me to Robin. That club is gold." I sang, happily.
Harry shrugged nonchalantly as we entered the High School Department. "It's no big deal. They needed someone who's good at organizing and someone who is bossy."
I grinned, ignoring the part where he told me that I was bossy. I wasn't even that bossy, just average.
"Thanks." I said. "You have basketball practice later, right?" I asked.
"Yeah. Want to watch? We can eat afterwards." Harry suggested. "Before you ask, yes I'll drive you home. I'm your personal chauffeur." He said, sarcastically.
"Hey! You offered to drive me to school and drive me home. You can't take back on your offer, Harrison Lincoln." I shot back.
"I know." He sighed." Anyway, you watching later?"
I shook my head. "I have a club meeting and Robin and I are going to be planning for the feeding program." I replied. "Next time. I missed watching your games."
"Of course you do." He said, smugly. "You missed my talents."
"No, I miss the fact that you get pissed every time you lose." I said, smirking as I reminisce the days he would throw the ball away because he lost.
"I hate you for bringing that up, Ali." Harry glared at my direction.
"Please. You love me." I said, patting his shoulders. "I'll see you at lunch."
Entering the loud classroom, my eyes wandered down to the raven haired boy who walked me to the bus stop. Walking over to him, I pulled out a container filled with brownies inside. I placed the container on top of his desk, discreetly before sitting down on my armchair.
"What's this, Walker?" he asked, turning around with a smirk plastered on his face. "Is this your way of confessing your love for me, Walker?"
I rolled my eyes at his comment. "Take it as a thank you and an apology for what happened." I answered. "It's brownies. It'll be the most amazing pastry you'll ever taste." I bragged. "It's one of my secrets recipes." I added.
He looked hesitant before putting the container inside his bag before mumbling a 'thank you'. I just gave him a nod before placing the front as our teacher came in.
Moreover, when lunch came, I grabbed my lunch from my bag before meeting up with Harry. I didn't get any far since someone grabbed my wrist.
"Robin?" I asked, pulling my wrist back.
"Harry wanted to say that he couldn't make it to lunch. He had to leave the school for some emergency." Robin informed me.
"What happened? Is he alright?" I asked in a worried tone. What did he do now?
"He said he'll tell you tomorrow or later." Robin answered before smiling. "On the other hand, wanna talk about what we're planning for the feeding program?"
I pursed my lips. "Sure." I said. "Where are we going to eat? The cafeteria must be fixed with students by now."
Robin smiled. "I got you covered, Callie."
Robin brought me inside the club room of the Helping Hands. It was located just below the roof top deck, so we have access to it. Robin explained that we, this club, only have access to the rooftop.
"Why would the school give the club such a big club room and a privilege to go up to the rooftop?" I asked, curiously as I sat on one of the chairs.
"You can't tell anyone, alright?" Robin exhaled. "Almost my entire family are the board of directors here, but they didn't give us this out of favouritism or nepotism. They gave it to us because we deserved it."
"Must suck to have family members in this school." I snorted. "I get what you feel. My parents used to be the lawyers of my previous school."
"Sucks, doesn't it?" Robin asked, grinning. I nodded, making him chuckle.
"So, the feeding program? Orphanage if I'm not mistaken." I asked, politely.
"Yeah. This Sunday." Robin answered. "The food we will be bringing them will be cooked by the club." He informed me.
"At the same day?" I asked. "Aren't we supposed to be there at like eleven in the morning? How are we going to cook food when we have a three hour drive ahead of us?"
"Simple. We cook the meals at round three in the morning. Then, we'll leave around seven." Robin answered. "Hard, isn't it."
"Where are we cooking the meals?"
"My house." He informed me. "Also, be informed. All of the members of the club have to sleep at my house. To make things simpler, better, and much more fun."
"That seems logical. Everyone needs to help. This helps prevent it. You are so smart, Robin."
The week went by in a blur before I knew it, it was already Saturday and I was packing my belongings for the little sleepover being held at Robin's house.
I already got the permission of my brothers to let me stay there since it was for the club, they gladly said yes. It was kind of weird that they allowed me to sleep somewhere so easily. Usually, they won't allow me until Sky asks permission for me.
"Have everything you need?" Alison asked as she stepped inside my room.
I nodded. "Yup. I'm all packed." I answered before yawning. I glanced at the clock. It was already 6 pm. "Harry should be here by now." I huffed. He's late.
Alison chuckled. "You know him. He likes to be fashionably late." Alison reminded, making me chuckle.
"Anyway, how are you feeling with the whole planning the wedding?" I asked. "Are you and Cole fighting yet with the planning? If that happens, I suggest you break off the engagement. Cole gets so annoying when he wins an argument."
Alison nodded in agreement. "Sometimes I hate that he's a lawyer. He is really good at arguments and I can't win most of the time."
"Please. My brother is so whipped for you, he'd let you win all the time." I pointed out.
"That's what you think, but it's not." Alison retorted.
Hearing the doorbell rang, Alison gladly accompanied me downstairs which I told her that it wasn't necessary.
"Hello, ladies." Harry greeted with a smirked plastered on his face. "Sorry I'm late."
I rolled my eyes. "No, you aren't." I pointed out.
He snickered. "Yeah. You're right. I'm not."
Alison chuckled, amused. "Both of you better get going. Now. Drive safe."
"I haven't seen you all week. Is everything alright?" I asked as we drove away from the house.
Throughout the entire week, I had Connor drive me to school since Harry was nowhere to be found. He didn't answer my text until last night. Something is definitely off about my best friend.
He nodded, not taking a glance at me. "I'm fine." Harry muttered. "Everything is fine."
Lies. Harrison Bryce Lincoln has been my best friend for years. I know what he sounds like and looks like whenever he lies. He can't look at my direction whenever he lies but I know better than to force the truth out of him. Still, I don't know why he lied to me.
I nodded. "Okay." He'll tell me when he's ready to tell me.
