"I'm home." I announced as I entered the household.

No one responded.

I shrugged, heading up to my room to change my uniform.

It was normal for me to be left alone since Cole was busy being a lawyer and Connor was busy becoming a lawyer. I couldn't blame them for reaching their dreams.

After changing into something comfortable, I went to the kitchen to cook myself some dinner. I was too lazy to cook, so I decided to cook ramen.

As I began chopping up ingredients, the doorbell rang. My brows furrowed, glancing at the clock. It was already eight in the evening.

"Who would be ringing the bell at this hour?" I grumbled to myself, peeking through the window. Upon seeing a familiar face, I quickly opened the door and headed to the gate of the house. "Look, what the cat dragged in." I smirked.

Charlie rolled his eyes. "Shut up and let me in." he said, playfully. "I'm staying for the night."

I arched a brow. "What did you do now?" I asked, frowning. I opened the gate for him as he entered the house with a duffle bag over his shoulder.

"I couldn't stay in my dorm. My roommates are too damn noisy and annoying." he complained, sitting down on the dining table.

"Go wash up. I'll call you when dinner is ready." I said, shooing him away from the food.

Charlie is my cousin. He's a year older than me and goes to Qetsiyah Academy like I did. I haven't seen him much during the summer since he's been away for basketball camp. I doubt that I'll be seeing more of him during school because he'll be busy studying. I honestly don't know how he can manage to balance out his studies, basketball training and games, and going to bars.

"Charlie." I knocked on the door before opening it. "Dinner is ready. Let's eat. I'm famished."

"Sure. Let's eat." he said as he walked with me.

"Heard you caused a fight because of me." I muttered. "Thank you for that. Very well appreciated." I chuckled, softly.

Charlie shrugged, nonchalantly like it wasn't a big deal when it most certainly was. "No one should ever talk bad about our family. Only the people who are in the family can." he snorted. "Anyway, how was your first day?"

I shrugged. "It was fine. The students are nice but smug, including Harry." I replied, casually. "They all look very smart and intimidating."

"Have you met Rhys yet?" Charlie asked before eating his ramen.

My brows furrowed. "How do you know him?" I asked, curiously. "Is he famous or something?"

"He was my classmate during the first year of grade school but he stopped a year and came back after a year." Answered my cousin. "Still don't know the reason why he left."

So, Rhys Montecillio was supposed to be a freshman. Wonder why he stopped a year.

"He's the smug one. He assumes that everyone knows him." I said. "He's a poppycock."

"He is famous, Ali." Charlie pointed out. "He's parents are one of the most famous civil engineers in the country. They are my hero." Charlie said, his eyes filled with admiration.

"Are they the couple engineers that work at Sky's father's company?" I asked, curiously. "Engr. Devon Montecillio and Engr. Clara Montecillio, am I correct?"

Charlie hummed in response. "Almost everyone in that family is an engineer. It's amazing."

I rolled my eyes. "Almost everyone in our family is a lawyer." I stated. "Our parents, our uncles and aunties, your cousins and my brothers."

"Expect for me." Charlie said, proudly.

Charlie was always the rebellious and outgoing one in this family. I always admired it and wished that I had it. He's parents wanted him to be a lawyer so bad. Charlie being Charlie, enrolled into being a civil engineer. Although he didn't do that to tick his parents, he did that because it was his dream.

"Are you still planning on becoming a lawyer?" Charlie asked and I nodded.

"It's always been my dream. Whenever I saw mom and dad going to court, it was heaven." I sighed, loudly. "I miss going to court with mom. Cole won't take me now."

"It's for the best, Ali. Not everything is like before."

I shrugged. "Perhaps." I said. "The first day went fine. I'm waiting for the tragedy to hit me."

Charlie rolled his eyes. "It won't happen this year. Trust me."

A week into my new school was refreshing. Students treated me so nicely, so did the teachers. They would help me whenever I needed help with something. It was weird how everyone was so nice to me.

Upon walking back to the classroom, I stopped walking upon hearing someone call my name. I turned around to see a guy standing over me.

"Callie Walker, correct?" he questioned.

I nodded. "Yes. Can I help you with something?"

"You don't have a club yet?" the guy asked a bit stern.

"Not yet. I didn't know that I needed to join one." I muttered. "Is it required?"

"It's required. You need to have a club." The guy with brown hair smiled. "I'm Robin and I'd like you to join our club." Robin said, coolly. "Are you willing to join our club, Miss Walker?"

I snorted when he called me 'Miss Walker'. "No need to call me that, Robin." I said, slightly amused. "What club is it anyway?" I asked, curiously.

"Helping Hands Club." Robin answered. "We help communities, orphanages, and homes for the age. It's a nice group. We get to help out people who are in need."

Wow. This school got even better.

"The school funds this club?" I gapped.

Robin nodded. "Yup. They like these kinds of things. The board has a very soft heart." he chuckled. "If you join, I'll make assistant manager of the club."

My eyes widened. "What? Why? I'm a new student, why give the position so sudden? What's the catch, Robin?"

As much as I want the position since it'll be good for my college application, there's got to be a catch for this.

"There's no catch, Callie." Robin quickly said. "My friend who was supposed to be an assistant manager backed out and Lincoln recommended you."

"Really?" I asked, surprised. "Harry recommended me?"

Robin hummed in response. "Are you taking up on my offer, Callie? It's a huge opportunity. I just don't recruit people who are new so sudden. You should be flattered."

I rolled my eyes playfully. "What do I do as an assistant manager?" I questioned.

"Supervise and you get to do a lot planning. You'll also be the one of the first ones to check where we will be heading before the whole team does. " Robin started. "You'll get to organize with me on where to go and help those in need. Both of us are in charge of the programs, of course. You'll also have exemptions on certain subjects whenever the club is excused. Are you in, Miss Walker?"

"So, basically, I have to do a lot of things. I need to invest my time in this club." I concluded.

Robin reluctantly nodded. "I'll be worth it. Once you see their happy faces. You'll see how much the hard work is worth it."

I pursed my lips. "I'll join."
