WHILE performing the ritual, he was unaware that he had fainted. It was almost dark when he woke up. When he awoke, he immediately stood up and looked around to see if the ritual he had performed worked. He was so discouraged that he saw nothing strange. He cringed at feeling so frustrated. He noticed that the circle he had drawn was gone as well as the candles that were placed on it.
The grave was dug out and his mother's coffin is open. He is satisfied knowing that his ritual worked out. He quickly ran home to check if his mother is in their house already. He even didn't think about, if his mother came back to life and raised from her coffin. Then, how come his mother didn't notice his son lying on the ground unconsciously. Why didn't she wake him up? The only thing in his mind right now is his mother.
When he got inside the house. He heard his father talking to someone from the kitchen. So, he quickly walked directly towards the kitchen. Then he saw a woman wearing white dress and her body covered with muds. He knows that it is his mother.
"Mom," he hugs his mother from the back while crying so hard, "you're alive. I missed you so much!" even if she stinks too much.
Harold's daddy first bathed his mommy because of its musty smell, while he just sat on the sofa and thought of his mother. He wondered why his mother hadn't spoken since she came home to them. But he also thinks that she may still be in a state of shock. So, he eagerly went up to his room to look for photos of him and his mother.
After an hour ago, his parents got down from upstairs and sit down on the sofa with him. He looks on his mother's face with a big smile and joy inside him. This is the first time Mr. Finch saw his son so happy since his wife died and he's also glad that things seem starting going well.
"Hey, son! What you got there?" Mr. Finch asked.
"Oh mom, I got our photo album together with daddy and I think it might help you remember me... and daddy!" Harold said and sat down beside his mother – showing their pictures together as a family.
Mrs. Finch said nothing as response, but her son didn't loss his hope. He kept on telling what happened from those pictures he has showed. He wants his mother to remember him, his father, and his family. Then suddenly, his mother held tightly the photo of him. Harold felt so happy thinking his mother finally remember him. His tears funded and asked his mother.
"Do you already remember me, mom?" he said while holding his mother's left wrist.
She turned her head to her son and maniacally smiled. Harold freaked out and slowly released his mother's wrist. Mr. Finch saw his son's sudden change of reaction. So, he asked his son.
"Harold, what's wrong?" He moved his head to see his son's face.
"N-Nothing..., dad," Harold stutteringly answered, "I t-think m-mom... mommy needs some rest." he added and pretend to smile like everything is okay.
His father listened and agreed. His father helps his wife to stand up and even his mother had difficulty in making her stand. He did not help out of fear. His father wonders why it didn't help her. But he did not ask and took his wife to their room. Inside the room, he tries to put it to sleep but it looks deaf. So, he decided to put some sleeping pills in a glass of water and give it a drink. Moments later it weakened and lay down on the bed. He arranged it on the bed and immediately left the room.
He goes straight down to their living room and find his son. He wanted to ask some questions that made him confused. How a dead person comes back to life. But he can't find his son. So, he climbed back upstairs and went straight into his son's room. He saw his son sitting on his bed, facing the window looking the outside view. He locked the door and came over and sat down next to his son.
"Harold! What the hell is going on?" Mr. Finch angrily asked. He is mad not because of his son. He's mad because of, he doesn't know how is that possible a dead, his wife comes back to life.
"I d-don't know, dad! I know nothing," Harold answered, and his tears were slowly dripping. "I just want my mommy back and be with her." he said and hugged his dad.
Mr. Finch hugged back, and his tears were also dripping, "we will figure this out, together."
Harold feels so guilty of what happened. He wanted to confess about what happened, what he did. But he can't, his father would literally disown him.
