Chapter 4 - Lilith the Mommy

TWO weeks ago, he kept on dreaming about his mother. It was the worst nightmare he ever had in his whole life. Inside his dream, every at three o'clock in the morning. His mother keeps on visiting him at his bedroom, smiling like an evil. There's a hell fire looking in her eyes and her face is shedding of skin just like a snake. This dream made him almost choke to death. He always got sleep paralysis that made him scared every time he was about to sleep.

At eight o'clock in the morning, Harold woke up early because of his nightmare. He immediately went down to the bathroom to pee and wash. He then went straight to the kitchen to see who was cooking. It smells so good because of the smell of pickled shrimp. He liked it and knew that it his only mother, Mrs. Mary Finch, because she is the only one who knew how to cook that dish.

"Dad?" he calls as he enters the kitchen.

He was approaching, just three steps away and he could see who was cooking. He suddenly felt a strange nervousness as he slowly stepped his feet into the kitchen. Playing on his mind how his father could cook, eh, he didn't know how to cook.

He was very surprised by what he saw. To his shock, he stepped back from where he was standing. He couldn't believe the person now standing and cooking his favorite dish. He was confused by what was happening and could not believe what he saw.

"M-Mom?" he called softly.

His mother who is almost out of her mind and if described is a really crazy one. But now, before him was the woman who had died but had risen again. He took courage and called her again, "M-mom?"

"Oh, good morning, baby. How was your sleep?" It turned momentarily once question and immediately returned attention to cooking.

He was shocked by what was happening, he asked himself if he was still dreaming or if it was true that his mother was okay. "A-Ah, it was fine, mom!" he replied then he faked a smile.

"Good! Prepare yourself because we are about to eat. This won't take long."

"By the way, where's dad, mom?"

"Oh, your dad... he went to the city."

"Did he said what he would do there?"

"No," Mrs. Finch replied and turned to Harold while holding a plate of marinated shrimp, "breakfast is served. Let's eat, baby!" Next to it is the plate she was holding landed on the table and then sat across from the table.

Harold first dismissed the thoughts that were troubling his brain. He could not restrain himself from spitting on the food prepared in front of him. He has also not eaten his favorite dish cooked by his mother for a long time. His father tried to cook it, but he couldn't get the right taste.

As they eat, Harold observed his mother's movements. According to his observation, there is nothing unusual about its behavior. Because of its demeanor and state, it seems like nothing happened to her, but she doesn't even ask how she lived. "No, she didn't know what happened to her before? She didn't know she was killed?" Questions formed in Harold's mind as they ate.

"Mom?" Harold said.

"Yes, baby? Is there anything wrong with the food? Isn't it delicious?" Mrs. Finch paused. "No, it's not about the food."

"Oh, so what is it?"

Hesitantly, Harold asked his mother, "Are you okay?"

She replied very enthusiastically, "Yes, of course, baby! Why did you ask? Is there any problem with me?" Now, the sadness had replaced her voice.

"Nothing, mom! I'm just so happy that ... you're here now." He excused himself and smiled at his mother.

After they ate, his mother put it away. He said goodbye to take a bath and get ready to go to school. While taking his bath, he thinks about what really happened in the woods. "Did I successfully summon the evil – King Paimon?" He asked to himself. "If I did, where is he? Why he didn't show up?" And because of his thoughts, he did not realize that his mother had been knocking the door for countless times.

"Baby? Are you okay in there?" Mrs. Finch asked while she continuously knocking the door.

When Harold regained consciousness, he immediately replied his mother. "Y-Yes, mom! I will soon be finish here."

"Okay, baby. Hurry up because you are close to being late for school!" she shouted.

His class will start at eight in the morning, he was lucky that he even reached is first period. He sat at the back end of the room, so that his teacher won't notice him. Because when he came to the room, his teacher was already there.
