"It's almost like they copy-pasted the rooms," Whitney said as she took her dress bag off the rack and opened the zipper as Lillian and Olivia dropped the boxes they were holding to the ground.
"What? They aren't the shoes you ordered?" Lillian asked after Olivia opened the shoe box that had her name in it and just stared at the heels inside it.
"No, they are actually. They just look even better in person," she replied as she took the heels out of the box and held them up while Whitney removed her dress from the bag. "The client was so generous to have us place all these on his card," Olivia said with a grin because the shoes, dresses and jewelry were so freaking expensive and she started to put them on.
Lillian walked over to the rack and took her dress bag off it to pull her dress out of it. It was a dark green sleeveless dress that a neckline that was a little bit low, just enough to show the cleavage of whoever wore it. Olivia got to her feet after putting the heels on on the floor and she tested the balance of the shoes, her eyes glinting as she stared down at them.
"Whit whit, you'll catch me if I end up falling because of these," Olivia said as she lifted her head and Lillian turned to face Whitney who was already in her dress and standing in front of a tall mirror that was in the corner of the room.
Lillian stared at Whitney in awe as Whitney placed her hands on her sides and turned sideways while staring at herself in the mirror. Her dress was a golden color that had thigh high splits on the left and right side and had a plunging neckline. It was backless and also sleeveless.
Whitney always got the best clothes because she was the smooth operator. She wouldn't be able to talk their way around human obstacles if she was in a bad dress.
Whitney turned around a couple of seconds after Olivia spoke and glanced down at the shoes the dark blue haired girl was wearing before she scoffed. "You're on your own. If you fall, the ground will catch you."
"Gee," Whitney said as her face became blank and she grabbed the last dress bag from the rack. "What a great friend you are," she added while opening the dress bag and Whitney faced the mirror again.
Olivia pulled her dress out of the bag and held it out in front of herself with furrowed brows. "I ordered a black dress. Why did I get this?"
The dress Olivia was holding was a pale pink dress that was also sleeveless like the other dresses and it had tie straps for hands.
"Gerald called the store to change the color," Whitney said as she walked over to the boxes on the floor and picked up her shoe box and jewelry box. "He said it's an engagement party, not a funeral."
Olivia frowned and began to take off her clothes while Lillian quirked a brow. "It's an engagement party?" Lillian asked and Whitney nodded as she put on her wedge heels.
"The oldest daughter of the Mortenson family, I think her name is Rosalyn… she's getting married soon."
Lillian hmmed before putting on her dress too and after a couple of minutes, the three of them were in their dresses, shoes and jewelry.
"Wow, I look good," Olivia stated as she placed her hands on her hips, staring at herself in the mirror, before she turned around and fixed her eyes on Whitney who was sitting on the bed and looking down at the phone in her hands.
"Whit whit," Olivia called out and Whitney looked up, raising her brows. "What's the deal with you and Rodney? Are you guys staying together after tonight?" she asked and Whitney pressed her lips together as her eyes glinted while Lillian tipped her head slightly to the side, wondering what her reaction meant.
The first time she asked Whitney if she and Rodney would be staying together two weeks ago, her answer had been an immediate no, so now that she didn't reply Olivia, had she changed her mind?
A knock came on the door, drawing their attention to it, and Olivia was about to as who it was when a voice announced, "It's Rodney."
A smile grew on Whitney's face as she tossed her curly hair over her shoulders and cleared her throat. "Come in" she replied and the door opened before Rodney peeked into the room. His eyes darted between Olivia and Lillian before they settled on Whitney and they immediately went wide with surprise.
"Oh, my God," he muttered as he walked into the room and Whitney's lips looked like they were going to split from all the grinning she was doing. He let out a harsh breath when he got to her and took her in, looking like he had never seen someone like her before. "You look... "
"Fat?" Olivia said monotonously as she raised her brows at him and Whitney gasped while Rodney gave Olivia a death stare. Lillian also mock gasped because Whitney wasn't fat, Olivia had just said that to be silly.
"No," Rodney stated firmly as he ran his hands up and down Whitney's arms and she moved closer to him with a pout on her face while she glared at Olivia. "You're fat," he said to Olivia as he gave her a once over and Olivia's hand flew to her mouth.
Whitney let out a laugh and lightly smacked Rodney's arm, drawing his attention back to her. "That dress... You make it look so beautiful. You're so fucking beautiful," he muttered as stared into her eyes and leaned closer to her.
"I want to rip it off," he muttered in her ear as his hands went around her and her cheeks grew warm while she let out a small laugh, placing her hands on his arms.
