CRANE, THE SPY (1)
Syton and Stalane were now heading out of the Tree of a Realm area. Like what they've usually did, Stalane will tell Syton if there's a dera ahead. Syton will then decide if they'll fight it or avoid engaging with it.
Stalane asked Syton more about his friend.
"I have a lot of connections, you know? How'd you think I was able to collect a lot of information about this place without connection?" Syton simply said.
"But you look like a newbie too when I first met you?"
Syton chuckled. "Yes, that's why I survived by helping, scamming, and selling information. I met Crane when I first arrived at this place. In short, he's the first connection or friend that I have"
Stalane looked at Syton's way using her peripheral view for a second, as if she was interested to hear his story.
Syton noticed how Stalane expects something from him, which makes him want to laugh.
"Nothing really cool happened. I spawned at the starting point area as expected"
"Spawned? What's the starting point area?"
Syton realized that Stalane uses a different vocabulary, but he was confused at how Stalane doesn't know the tower where new braver is teleported into.
"It's where I was teleported. You don't know the Ichi tower? What place have you first teleported into?"
"Inside the Aflavior's forest"
Syton stopped and his eyes went wide due to him being shocked at what he have heard.
"What?!"
Stalane didn't bother to repeat what she just said. Why? Does what she have said is really that unbelievable?
After a while, Syton finally got a grip on himself and tried to analyze why Stalane was teleported in there instead to the Ichi tower. He then remembered how op Stalane was ever since.
"I guess you were teleported there considering your class and how you are already used to with fighting due to your op stats. I'm just a normal guy so I was lucky to be teleported to a safe area instead" Syton guessed.
Stalane nodded as she understood it more clearly now.
"By the way, are you a police officer or a soldier before?" Syton can't help but get curious.
Stalane was surprised by his sudden question.
"So? Is Crane a new braver at that time too?" She deliberately changed the topic instead, which makes Syton got the wrong idea.
He curled up his lips with his usual playful smirk. "Are you really that curious about Crane?"
Stalane got what his tone meant was about, which made her frown.
"I'm interested with his class" Stalane admits.
Syton nodded, pretending to be convinced with her reason. Stalane rolled her eyes, not until she noticed a familiar dera that was a few km away from them.
"Syton, its a Cuazenta" Stalane informed him.
Syton eyes covered in excitement as he confidently said, "Say less, we'll face it."
They really have the same thoughts in mind. Both of them want to face a Cuazenta again before they leave the place. It's just so they could proudly tell to themselves that they really could defeat a Cuazenta, whether it's only an illusion or a real one.
"Are we gonna do this as a competition again?" Stalane wanted to make sure.
Syton shook his head. They continue to walk forward with another goal in mind.
"How many are there?" Syton asked.
"Only one, but I could also see some other dera that is near to the Cuazenta"
"Then, could you give me the Cuazenta and I'll leave the other deras to you?"
Stalane was about to argue, but when she saw how eager Syton was she just let him do what he pleases.
"Okay"
She already defeated 3 Cuazenta anyways. Although, it was a fake one.
Syton was grateful for her consideration. That is why he continue to speak about the guy that Stalane was interested with.
"I'll reward you with the story of our meeting then"
Stalane was puzzled with what he randomly says. "Who?"
Syton grinned on Stalane thinking that she is acting as if she doesn't know who he was talking about. But Stalane was indeed clueless since he just suddenly start talking about things that was out of their topic.
"As what I've said to you earlier, after I spawned---ehem, got teleported to the Ichi tower, of course I went out to check the place where I was. I was somehow familiar how things work, since everything seems to function as the usual virtual game or MMORPG games in a computer. I thought that I should gather some information first, so I went to a nearby bar. I was actually surprised when I saw that there really was a bar that is so near at the Ichi tower. It's like the game master purposely put it there after I thought about it. Kidding aside, that was where I met the guy named Crane."
Syton glimpse at Stalane that was walking beside him to see her reaction. He was satisfied when he saw how Stalane was attentively listening to his story. Syton just got more convinced that Stalane might be really interested to his friend.
He can't help but to imagine how both of his friend might work out.
"Crane at that time was only a rank 1F braver. After the previous Brave Challenger Game, he was promoted as a rank 5E. Anyway, the people on that bar were not friendly at all. I'm telling you, all of them have an hostile eye towards me as if they were already to eat me alive. I feel like I just walked inside a lion's den. I thought at that time, 'Ahh, how unlucky am I to get killed off right after I just started?'. But, luckily Crane was more unlucky than me!" Syton laughed as he reminisced the past.
Stalane raised her left eyebrow, to indicate that she was asking him what he meant by his last words.
So, Syton continued his story.
"Do you know those shy uwu anime boy? That's how I would describe Crane. Unlucky for him to get a main quest that needs confidence. He thought that the people on the bar would be nicer and friendlier since it's near to the Ichi tower, but it was actually the opposite of it. Those people purposely put their bar near that tower to bully the new Bravers. But they were only a normal People of the Land so when Crane was being targeted he easily took them out. That is also how I got saved by him"
Stalane glanced at Syton to signal him that the dera is also heading their way at a fast speed. It seems that it noticed their presence even from afar, or its just that the dera is looking for something else. Either way, both of them get ready for the upcoming battle.
Stalane climbed into a tree as she brought out her bow and arrows. Same goes with Syton.
"That is when I bravely asked what Crane needs. I told him that I'll help him in return for information. I was lucky since the main quest he got was an easy one for me to strategize as long as I got the necessary information. After that, Crane felt that he was indebted to me. He'll give me information without needing anything in return. Of course, since I'm a good guy, I help him with the quests that he's having trouble with by giving some advices. I also meet a lot of people along the way. That's why, you should not be surprised if I have a connection here and there. Although, most of them are only a low rank braver but I'm sure they'll rise faster than anyone. Since most of them really have a great potential" Syton continued while he casually walks forward.
"The Cuazenta stopped but it's nearer. He's 2 km away from us. I'll hunt down some dera that might get in our way" Stalane informed him as if he was not interested to his story anymore.
Syton excitement grew larger at what he heard.
"Then, let's finish this so we could meet up with Crane faster" Syton said with the intention of teasing Stalane. However, Stalane was dubious about his intention since she was not interested at Crane like how Syton thinks.
Syton quickly ran towards where the dera is with Stalane's direction. Once he got close enough, he finally saw the Cuazenta.
