UNDER A DREAM (1)
A minute ago, Stalane was just staring at Amoura suspiciously when she suddenly in a whole different place. Stalane was so confused, but she knew that she should not be wasting any more time. She have to look for Syton.
As Stalane looked around, she noticed that the place was too familiar for her. It's a place she doesn't even dream to come back nor visit.
She looked up as she embraced the drops of the water that was coming from the angry clouds. She smirked at how familiar these scenes were to her.
She was about to walk away from that place and look to a different place, but her feet dragged her back. The place looked the same and was as dark as she remembers it. Her eyes went cold at the sight of the abandoned basement of a simple restaurant bar.
After she blinked once, she knew something changed again.
That's when she realized that she returned to the past.
Three pairs of footsteps could be heard from outside. Stalane can't help her 4 year old self to shiver in fear. Her throat was already tired from too much crying and screaming for help earlier. Now she just closed her eyes tightly, hoping that the moment she open her eyes the bad guys won't be there to hurt her anymore.
Unfortunately, her prayers was not answered.
Three men entered the basement. Their frightening smirks, which could give chills to all the children that was tied in there, was evident on the three men's faces as they walk inside.
At a single glance, you could already tell that these men enjoy how the kids tremble in fear. They were satisfied on how those kids fell in despair and how they suffer in misery.
Stalane, as a child, was having trouble in breathing for being too anxious. She was worried that she might be the next one who'll be killed by those men.
She once saw how they mercilessly killed one child then took off his organs inside. She widened her eyes after she remembered those scenes. She hold herself from puking.
Stalane prayed to all of the gods that was in there that she won't be chosen to get killed today. She prayed that someone will save her from that place.
This time it looks like the heaven was on her side.
Sound of gunshots and screams could be heard upstairs. Even the children got scared by the sound. All the children cried in fear while the others even peed. They curled their body up, that way they hoped that no one will notice them and no one will harm them.
A moment later, the terrifying sound from guns and fights were finally over. Light footsteps coming towards the children could be heard.
Stalane hesitated but she gathered some courage to open her eyes to see who was coming.
It was a man, who is covered in blood and was holding a gun on its right hand.
The man's eyes and Stalane's coincidentally met. It's eyes was as cold as ice and it was as if telling her that if she did something wrong she'll immediately die.
The man scanned the whole place, and Stalane saw how he became more irritated.
That was when the young Stalane thought to ask for his help. So, she tried to speak despite of having a gag on her mouth. She doesn't know if this guy would help them or if they were an accomplice of the people who kidnapped them. All Stalane know was she was desperate of leaving that place and being saved.
The man fiercely looked at Stalane who was making a noise, before he ignored her. Stalane couldn't help herself but to cry.
"Tend to their wounds then immediately bring them all back to the base." The man said to his subordinates who just arrived before he left the scene.
Stalane and the other kids does not know what was happening, but they all panicked when the unfamiliar people suddenly tried to walk closer to them.
When someone came to release Stalane and tend to heal her wounds, the scene suddenly changed again.
This time the young Stalane was sitting to a comfortable chair in front of the boss who saved them. This was also the time when the young Stalane got confused by the sudden change of location. She also finally realized that this scene was somehow familiar to her.
"Child, what's your name?" The boss asked.
Stalane was at daze after his question. She really felt like that she already answered the same question to this same person before, but she does not remember when.
"Child?" The boss called out to her again.
That was when she finally got a hold of herself.
"Uhh--sorry. My name----" Stalane's introduction got cut off when there was a sudden knock from the door.
Both the boss and Stalane looked at the person who entered the room. It was the man who saved them from the basement.
He saluted first before he spoke, "I'm sorry for the sudden intrusion, but I have an emergency report from Lex."
The boss nodded. "Proceed"
The man paused for a second as he looked at Stalane as if he was hesitating. The boss noticed his worry.
"V, I'll be assigning you as this child's teacher. The background says that she's an orphan so I think it'll be better if we just keep her instead. Of course, if that is what she wants" the boss said.
Stalane who was too familiar of how things will go doesn't even tried to hold back but immediately answered.
"I'll stay" she said with certainty.
"What's your name?" The guy named V coldly asked.
Before, she was too scared to meet with his eyes, but for unknown reason Stalane also felt like that those eyes were something she also missed so much.
"Shane Krystal. I have no surname" She answered without stuttering and by looking at straight to his eyes.
The boss was satisfied with the outcome.
"Shane, from today onwards your code name will be Stalane. This is Vincent and his code name is V. He will be your teacher" The boss introduced Stalane to his new teacher.
"V..." Stalane whispered his name and surprisingly it has a tinge of longing on it.
