SYLVAN LEAF HERB
Syton and Stalane was walking closer to where the Tree of a Realm is. They are carefully searching for the herb that Bell was talking about.
"It's supposed to be here, right?" Syton asked while looking around the ground.
"Syton." Stalane called out his name.
Syton didn't bother to look where she was but continue looking instead.
"Did you found it?" Syton replied while he was busy looking on his own.
"No, but look here. Is this the Tree of a Realm?" Stalane asked then pointed at the massive trunk that goes all the way up to the sky. The top of the tree was not even visible from where they are standing.
Syton looked towards where Stalane was pointing at. He gaped at the sight of it. Both Stalane and Syton could feel a huge amount of mana coming out from the tree.
"Why can't we see this tree when we were outside if it was this huge?" Syton asked.
Stalane shook her head, indicating that she doesn't also know.
Syton walked near the tree to attempt on touching it. Right after he touched it, he felt so comfortable but at the same time he also suddenly became nauseous. It seems like he can't afford to get away from the tree.
"Syton!" Stalane shouted as she pulled him away from touching the tree.
That was when Syton realized how much damage he have gotten just from touching its trunk. He doesn't even feel any pain and yet it already took almost all of his hp in a short amount of time. He even looked like a mess.
"What just happened?" Stalane asked as she gave Syton a red potion.
Syton drank the potion before answering Stalane.
"I think this tree was supposed to support a person by giving out some mana, but if that person can't handle the amount of mana it's giving it'll suck out your life force instead. Or it'll give you some mana but you'll pay for your hp instead. I'm not quite sure yet. I'll try asking Crane" Syton explained.
"Crane? Is that the spy you were talking about?" Stalane asked.
Syton only nodded as a reply before tapping in the air, trying to contact its spy class friend.
After some minutes, Syton finally got some information about the Tree of a Realm. Crane only gave the direction of the place before and not the information about the Tree. Crane just told Syton before that the place is too dangerous for rank F to H bravers or adventurers. Even E bravers or adventurers were too afraid to set their foot on that place.
Syton read out the message that Crane sent.
"It is a tree that's only visible to naked eye when you're already at its foot. It is because the tree is covered with mana where it'll remain invisible. The tree itself does not change its location but the terrain that is surrounding it changes every full moon. The tree is believed to be convenient on lending some mana to a braver, and life force to an adventurer or a People of the Land.
If a person is too weak, the tree will give you a lot of mana. This is its way of helping someone. But because of this, the braver doesn't realize that it's own body are still not in the condition to handle a huge amount of mana, thus the body will force itself wherein your body could finally hold it. In return of forcing itself, it'll reduce your hp since it technically fastened up your growth that was supposed to happen in few more months or years. Think of it as if you're giving out your time, but the time is converted as your hp instead.
To understand it more clearly, think of your mana as a water in a glass. The tree will pour water or mana on the glass continuously. Since it'll overflow when it's already full, the glass won't be able to contain it. Thus it'll force itself to get a larger glass so it'll be able to hold the water. In order to get a larger glass, normally you'll be needing to train or it just became larger after time passes by. But the tree will make it easier for you since you could just buy a larger glass from it. The currency you'll be lending to the tree to buy a larger glass will be your hp or life force. It'll then convert the hp that you have paid to a larger glass, so that the tree could pour more water or mana to your glass.
Some higher bravers tend to climb the tree in order to get stronger. I still don't know how they're able to do that when their hp is supposed to be also taken away by the tree.
This also goes the same with adventurers and People of the Land. They'll be given a life force in exchange for their mana. But when their mana is already depleted, they'll die instead.
There's still no concrete information about what's on top of the tree. Rumor says that the top is the garden of where the gods lives."
Stalane as someone who can't understand terminologies such as mana, and life force or hp like how Syton does just nodded. The text that Syton just read was easier to understand for people who play games. But Stalane is not a gamer when she was still on Earth, so she only understood a little when Syton read out the explanation.
Nevertheless, she understood one thing. "You're weak" she bluntly stated the fact.
Syton was dumbfounded at Stalane's comment. He looked away as his face got redder.
"Yeah, yeah" he admitted.
Stalane was satisfied at his reaction.
"Don't worry, if you're weak then there's a huge possibility that this tree will also just suck out my hp" Stalane said.
Syton then turned to look at Stalane and he noticed how serious she was. Syton wanted to tell her that she's wrong, but he decided to tease her instead.
"You're right. Look at my stats that is slowly catching up to yours. Your growth is really slow. Keep up that pace and I'll be stronger than you in a month or so" Syton joked.
But Stalane knew that Syton was also half serious. Stalane saw how fast Syton's stats grew. Just a few months ago, she saw how low Syton's stats. But now it is growing in a rapid rate that she was slowly getting scared to be left behind by his growth.
While Stalane was in a deep thought, Syton noticed something that was behind her. He walked towards it and used notitia to confirm its identity.
"I think this is what we are looking for" Syton said as he crouched to pick up the herb that was on the ground.
Stalane heard what Syton said. She walked towards where he was and observed the leaf that Syton was holding.
"It's called Sylvan Leaf herb" Syton said.
