True to her words, as soon as he ascended the steps leading to the main entrance, the doors opened up and a lone vampire clad in a deep blue cloak stepped out. Her black hair and glowing red eyes brought a distant familiarity to him. Beneath her cloak was a dull golden armor. It was all it took for him to remember.
"You must be General Ada. I've heard of you and I've seen you a few times on the battlefield"
"And you must be the pup that was killing my kin mercilessly with your strategies and strength. We have always admired you, Lord Dimitri Lunaire"
He grits his teeth discreetly in anger. He didn't know he had stopped so low to be admired by such an unfeeling and eccentric race. He also hated being called a pup. He was already 519 years old.
"Thank you" he replied with a straight face.
"Come, our queen awaits you"
He made his reluctance less obvious as he followed General Ada through the numerous hallways to get to the throne room. He soon found that it was useless memorizing the paths to the throne room as magic kept disorienting his senses.
If General Ada knew what he was doing, then she was choosing not to comment or she was secretly mocking him. Dimitri didn't know which but he could bet it was the latter.
The two made it to a large black door and the guards in front of the door opened it. The pressure that came forth from the two guards put his senses on high alert. While he was sure he could defeat them, he wasn't sure he could make it alive because the pressure that came from the vampire seated on the golden throne was much worse.
General Ada kneeled on one knee and bowed before her. The vampire queen, the only one rumored to be equal to the Father of the werewolves, was as strong and beautiful as he heard. Her scarlet eyes brought immense pressure and it took all he had not to kneel to her. He refused to kneel before a strange leader.
Queen Moria couldn't say she was surprised with his obstinate behavior. She had heard much about him and was quite curious to meet him. But, there was something strange, something familiar about his aura.
"Welcome to Deniel. I received a letter from your leader that you would be arriving tomorrow but you came quite early, Lord Dimitri"
"Well, your majesty, I couldn't wait to get this over with"
While he expected to hear gasps of surprise and vampires yelling at him for his impudence, all the vampires in the hall were silent. With the exception of General Ada and the queen, there were nine vampires in the throne room. And they all had black hair and red eyes. Where did the orange-haired vampire come from?
"I see. You have the documents then?"
"I do"
That had them surprised. They expected he had left them in a rush but he was as meticulous as they had heard. If Dimitri knew they were all praising him in their minds, he would've torn the city down.
There was a golden ring on his finger. He tapped it twice and a document held in a big brown envelope appeared. This made them marvel.
"I never would've guessed the Arctic snow wolves tribe had access to Elven technology. I'm both surprised and impressed"
Dimitri was finally pleased. He knew the vampires would never expect that they were in contact with the Elves. It meant they at least had an advantage over the vampires.
He handed the document to General Ada who in turn handed it to the queen after checking it. The attendant beside the queen gave the queen a seal which she used to stamp the treaty. The document was handed back to Dimitri who promptly put it back into the ring.
"My dear children, from this day forward, we are now at peace with the Arctic Snow Wolves from across the forest. Please welcome the rest of the delegation when they arrive and make them feel at home in our beloved city" the queen broadcasted telepathically to the whole clan. The vampires could only agree. Her commands were absolute.
"Thank you for your time and hospitality but I'll be leaving now" he said, giving a short nod and turning to leave.
"Wait! Are you going to celebrate?" The queen asked, in a bit of a hurry.
"Unfortunately, I cannot stay any longer or the terms on the treaty can be counted as null and void. Father warned me not to mess this up so I'm leaving"
"I will not stop you but I want to ask you something"
"Fine. You can ask"
"Are you by any chance, blood bonded?"
"What?"
"I'm sure you don't understand what that means. It is similar to what you wolves refer to as soulmate bonding except this is temporary. Did you perhaps arrive last night?"
"I did"
Gasps filled the hall. The queen looked too shocked to speak. The throne room erupted in whispers as the vampire elders argued the fact of whether or not a werewolf can be blood bonded. But the evidence was in front of them. It made them all uncomfortable.
"What are you all talking about?"
In truth, he at least had an idea but he didn't want to believe it. He didn't want to believe he had bonded with that strange vampire.
"Lord Lunaire, please calm down. I believe you might have come in contact with a vampire last night during a sacred ritual of ours and now you're temporarily bonded with them. However, the way to break the bond is only through coitus. I'm truly sorry"
Dimitri's eyes widened. He couldn't believe his ears. He had to sleep with a vampire?! A vampire of all things! Why?!
The doors of the throne room opened again and an orange-haired vampire walked in holding a popsicle, strawberry flavor. She smirked at him.
"Let's try this again. I'm Yvaine. What is your name?"
