In the room, silence began to set in as Akito waited for an answer from Merlin. Finally, she looked up to him, and with a stare, she ordered him to listen closely. "Listen closely, my beloved student." She uttered as he placed one of her legs on top of the other.
"That man is, Azazel the fallen Angel of Power," Merlin said as she gestured for Akito to sit beside her. But, instead, Akito came closer and took a seat under her face. Beside her legs, he sat patiently and with a determined expression. Akito set his goal to kill this Angel.
"Angel?" He asked her as he pointed up towards the sky. "So, our suspicion was true. Heaven and Hell do exist." He said with a dumbfounded look.
"Are you serious? All of these encounters? Nothing rang in your small brain?" She asked him while she looked at him with her beautiful purple eyes.
"Yes, they have. So I'm a Devil, a former one at least, who did something that went against the laws of Hell?" He said while staring at Merlin's leg. Then, questioning himself, he started to speak in a lower volume. "A Devil who has reincarnated and is going to receive punishment for his deeds." He explained with a sad expression. Looking deep into the palm of his hand, he noticed a tear that trickled down his face as he tried to explain. "M-Maybe I am a vessel who's going to bring destruction, or someone to revive this God that's sealed within me." He told her as a stream of tears started falling from his face. "I can't feel a single thing within myself. I don't know what's right or wrong." He said as he placed his hand on top of his forehead. "The place where my soul should reside within feel's empty." He explained to Merlin while crying. "I feel like there is a blur between myself and me. I don't know who I am." He said as he dropped his arm beside his leg.
Merlin switched positions and fell onto her knees, where she extended her thin arms and grabbed Akito's face. Sensing two warm hands touch his face, Aktio looked up as Merlin drew him into her chest. Hugging him tightly, she smiled with tears in her eyes and spoke softly. "I will tell you everything when the time is right." She said while she placed one hand on top of his head.
Brushing his hair slowly, she softly smiled and pulled him away from herself. Then, looking into his eyes with excitement, she unconsciously spewed. "You're not a Devil, but an honorable person." She stopped herself immediately.
Catching him off guard, Akito stopped crying and displayed an expression of utter confusion. "Huh? What did you say?" He sounded out ferociously.
"Huh?" She hummed with a worried expression. "I didn't say anything." She told him with an uneven smile.
...
While in his room, early in the morning, Satoshi woke up and immediately stretched out in his bed. "Should I go for a run?" He asked himself as he looked over to his watch.
Brushing his teeth, he noticed a commotion coming from Akito's room. "What's that fool up to this early in the morning." Said Satoshi as he gurgled water in his mouth. Spitting out the water, he heard a scream come from his room. Rushing to his door, he slammed it open and found that he was inches away from a mysterious lady holding him. "W-What are you two doing?" He said with a flushed face. "I'm sorry, go ahead, do y'all's thing." He said as he tried to close the door shut.
"Wait, Satoshi. It's not what you think." Akito tried explaining as the door slammed shut. "Uhh, there goes my dignity." He screamed out loud as he pushed Merlin away. "Satoshi, wait!" He moaned as he headed down the stairs.
Chuckling softly, Merlin stopped and assessed the situation to find the best way to explain the recent events to the pair of brothers. Leaving Satoshi out of the problem was not a choice anymore, and she had to find a way for a human to comprehend her explanation. About the universe, Gods, and Devils, and why these recent attacks have all targeted Akito. "This is complicated." She told herself as she underestimated everyone that was involved.
"My eyes, it shows me the past of everyone I encounter, but these people, what has fate got against them?" She asked herself as she got up and followed Akito downstairs.
Reaching the end of the stairs, she found Akito standing by the dining room's table chair over Satoshi. "Bro, seriously, I'm a good person, Merlin. The lady upstairs told me that I was an honorable guy." He explained with relief and excitement. Tears running down his face, he looked back to Merlin, and the sudden overfill of emotions and his handsome face caused her to blush.
"Who are you?" Asked Satoshi as he grew weary of her and stood up in a defensive position. "Akito, why should you trust someone you barely met?" He asked his brother with a concerned face while walking and standing in front of him. "Whatever you're planning, I advise you to leave, now," Satoshi said as he reached out his arm in the direction of his brother, trying to protect him. "What is your goal, Merlin?" He asked her as his face changed expression quickly. "It's okay, Satoshi. She's in the green." Akito told his brother as he looked at Merlin. "How can you prove that?" He asked his brother. Walking over his brother's extended arm, Akito stood by Merlin and said, "I can't, but I'm willing to trust her for now." He said with a determined look.
"Damn it with you." Said Satoshi as he pulled his arm back and sighed in exhaustion. "Fine, I will trust you, Akito, but I will never take my eyes off of you, Merlin." He told her with a one-eyed look.
