Chapter 25 - Chapter 9: Cruel Master (5)

The two stood by the giant tree at the park that is still a haunting view for Akito. "This tree, huh?" he said out to himself. Rias walked over and placed her hand on it. "Do you want to walk around the park?" She asked him nicely. Blushing, Akito glanced up at her and walked over by her side. "So, what are you doing here today?" He asked bluntly. She looked over to his side and smiled. "Nothing, just going on a weekend adventure." She answered his question. Walking up to a couple holding hands, he noticed that they seemed the same age as them. Flustered, he looked away and back at Rias. "Oh, fate, are you finally giving me what I want?" He asked with perverted intentions.

They both seemed very nervous while making it halfway around the park. The two never spoke. Both were seemingly holding back something, but they never took the initiative to break the silence. Until Rias got a little closer to his shoulder, noticing, the two blushed and looked straight ahead. "What do I say?" He said to himself in frustration. "This is not cool!" He exploded inside of his head. Akito noticed a familiar place. The place where one of the previous survival encounters took action. "This place, huh?" He said as Lunel's and Runel's faces came to his mind. He placed his hands into his pants and slowly looked up as he kicked a small pebble. "Rias?" He said as he saw her halted by the place the fight took.

"This place, it's filled with emotions." She said as she placed her hand on her chest. He walked over by her side. Standing a couple of feet away from her, he looked over to her and couldn't help himself but admire her beautiful features.

"She has the curves, the hips, the lips, the eyes, and the hair that has long caught my eyes." He kept looking at her for even longer. "She is my salvation." He said to himself while dancing in his mind. His mind kept on going with ideas about what or what not he could do and say. He's nervous but happy to be with someone he likes. In his terms, he felt safe with her. He felt connected and aware of himself when he stood by her side.

"Do you know, Rin-Kun-" She tried addressing him before halting. "What's wrong?" Akito asked her as he got closer to her face. "Nothing!" She replied nervously. "No, seriously, what's wrong?" He asked once again. Promoting her to answer his question, she smiled and explained herself. "I realized that I don't know how to address you." She said while holding her face. "I mean, we're not friends, and we're not on first name terms as well." She said while she moved her hands away from her eyes. Akito stood there embarrassed and sad as if multiple arrows had stabbed him. "We're not friends?" He said with a gloomy face.

"No, that's not what I meant." She shouted while the awkward tension faded. Unbelievable, the usual dense and dumbstruck Akito thought of something. He was so calm and collected when his mouth opened to speak. "Umm, well. Do you want to be friends, Norio-San?" He asked her with a soft smile. Scratching his head, he waited for an answer. He grew impatient and began rubbing the back of his head with more force. "Uhh?" He mumbled a random noise.

Smiling, Rias looked back to the park. She smiled, turned her head towards him, and accepted his request with tears. "Finally, I'm getting closer to him." She thought to herself as she uttered. "Hm, I would cherish being your friend."

This moment was too bright for his gloomy days. Happy, they both smiled until they got interpreted by one of Rias's friends. "Oh, Rias!" Screamed a short girl. running towards them, Akito grew frustrated. "Who is she?" He said as he looked her way with discontent. "Not now, you bitch." He said while raging on in his head. Watching her throw herself into Rias's arms, he displayed an annoyed face. "Huh? Really?" He said while his anger grew. Finally, he stood there patiently raging inside of his head.

After some chatter, Rias turned towards him and suddenly bowed down. Watching her take these actions, Akito stood there telling her that it was fine. "Please, lift your head. It's fine." He said with a crooked smile. "I'm sorry, Rin-Kun. I'm going to hang out with Miyu." She said as she lifted her head. "It's fine. Please have fun." He said while holding out his palm. While taking off in the other direction, Akito forgot to thank her one last time. "Thank you for the water bottle." He screamed in her order. Then, waving to him, he took off in the opposite direction towards his house. "Miyu?" He said with a tense face. "She's my arch-enemy!" He screamed inside of his head.

"No time to waste." He reminded himself with nervousness. Contacting Merlin wasn't as easy as he had stated previously. He knew nothing of her and her goals. She was mysterious, and her aura was gloomy. "Can I trust her?" He asked himself as he made his way into the center of the park. "I need to find out more about her." He said to himself as he walked up to the vending machine. "Books are no use." He said as he calmly displayed a confused expression. Being exposed to such secrets of the world was, to say the least, overwhelming for a teenager. Merlin was the only hope to his despair. The scuffle in his house displayed nothing more than a worried Merlin, but reading negative emotions was unclear and cloudy because of the feelings that used to take over his actions.

Pulling out a small note, he looked deep into it as he took a sip from a curtain box. "Well, I need to hear more from Merlin. I need to listen to her side of the story." He said with a determined look as he tossed away the drink into a nearby bin.

Walking for a while, he came to an excluded place of the park, often empty. This section seemed like the perfect spot to summon a mage of Merlin's level.
