Chapter 2 - 2 Nightmares

I woke up in a cold sweat. I had the same nightmare again. Every night I have the same nightmare. I am having a wonderful day, then all of the sudden, the ground swallows me up, and I fall into an empty abyss.

"Quinn, Come and eat before your breakfast gets cold. " My mother calls. "Sara has already eaten. By the time you get down here, she will be married with 2 children." -Not likely, Sara is 6- "I'll be right down." I call.

I slowly willed myself to move from the precious cocoon of warmth that my blankets provide.

Today is going to be better, I reminded myself. New school, new life, I can reinvent myself and show everyone that I'm not some loser who transferred into a brand new school in the middle of Senior year.

{My mom thinks I'm some kind of hermit because I don't ever leave the house.-Not true, I run 10 miles every day after school.- She doesn't get that the girls in my grade back home in Boston bullied me incessantly. I didn't get out much to avoid Savannah Perkins and her group of savage mini-me's who worshipped the ground that she walked on, which meant that they all tortured me.}

I shook myself out of my thoughts and ran downstairs, just in time to catch my mom before she left. "Bye, mom," I said. "Quinn," she sighed, "I know you think I'm overbearing, but I am just trying to help you." "I know," I said. She sighed. "Have a good day, and don't forget to pick up Sara from school today." " I won't ," I said.

My mom closed the door as Sara came running up to me. "Quinn, can I stay home? I don't feel good," She exclaimed. "Nice try, If I have to try out my new school, so do you. Come on, you're going to be late." I let out an exasperated sigh. " It was worth a shot." Muttered Sara.

After I dropped off Sara at her elementary school, I slowly meandered my car through back roads to avoid getting to school early enough for speculation about me to start. {Lucky for me, I arrived there 5 minutes before the first bell. Which limited the amount of social interactions.}

I parked in the parking lot, and I started to walk to my first class. I looked at my schedule, and all of the sudden I bumped into someone. I looked up and saw beautiful grey eyes and a soft smile looking at me. Then, the world went black.
