I looked at him, and I realized who had was. So this is Chelsea's ex, I thought. I don't know why she was so worried. I would never in a million years go out with this egotistical know-it-all.
He's too full of himself, and I am not looking to get into another messed-up relationship right now. Plus I can guarantee that I am not his type. I have unruly dirty-blond curly hair, and my eyes are algae green.
Anyone would be beyond insane to think that I was anything close to beautiful. He cleared his throat and I was shaken out of my thoughts. "I can see you've already heard of me," he said, with an arrogant grin. "Chelsea must have warned you against dating me." He looked at me and sighed.
"Youre not even my type anyway." {See what I mean about him being egotistical?} He looked through the window into the library. Everyone was staring at us.
He sighed. "You should get going. It's been a long day for everyone." I walked down the hall and breathed a sigh of relief when I couldn't see him anymore. "He is a piece of work," I muttered to myself. I took out my phone and texted Silas.
Quinn: You owe me big time, Silas.
Silas: Lol, lighten up Q.
Quinn: Not funny, Silas. You tried to get me to join a fake cult, who are convinced that I have superpowers. I'm not Batman.
Silas: Nope. You are super Q, Queen of the earthquakes.
Quinn: I just happened to be standing there when an earthquake happened. I don't have powers.
Silas: Yeah you do Q. TTYL. Have fun taking your sister home from school.
Quinn: Will do. Thanks Si-Fi.
Silas: whoa! Hold up. What's with the weird nickname?
Quinn: ROFL. I thought that since you are in a cult, and your name is Silas, it kind of fits.
Silas: No it doesn't! What did Mitch want to talk to you about?
Quinn: My lips are sealed. I can tell you that he was really rude though. TTYL. I've got to pick up my sister, Sara.
I put my phone away and walked to my car. After I started the engine, I thought back to my conversation with Mitchell. Uggghhhh. I thought to myself. Who does Mitchell think he is to talk to me that way?
I drove to the elementary school and picked up Sara. I made sure that she was buckled in her car seat and on the way home she was bursting with excitement about what had happened during the school day.
I half-listened to her stories as I drove across town towards our new house. When I got home, I hung up my keys, andI went into the kitchen. I decided to make Fettuccine Alfredo for dinner, and I had Sara sit and do her homework, while I waited for the oven to warm up, so I could add the garlic bread into the oven. While I was adding the pasta to the sauce, my mom came in and she just sat in silence as I served her and Sara their food. My mom rarely talked anymore, so when Sara told my mom about her day, she just kind of sat there and nodded along. and I started walking up the stairs to my bedroom. I laid down in my bed and thought about how messed up my day had been...
