Their eyes filled with anger and became fear as I coldly gaze deeply at their hue until I find the urge to finish their lives. The wolves growl so loud before I snapped each of their necks. I looked around and saw scattered bodies on the ground. I removed the dirt from my hands and as my eyes wander I saw the man behind all of this crime.
I walked closer. I can hear his breathing slowly. I picked him up and before I went to the passage. I heard some groan, seems like someone survived by my hands, yet I wonder if it'll last.
So instead of getting back at it, I chose to continue on my mission.
I resume to the passage that I used to get across the borderlines without being seen. What I witnessed a while ago was a rare sight. It's also rare for me to interfere, but something made me do it.
I don't even know who the hell is this man.
What's even worst is I'm taking him with me. After minutes of walking, the passage led us to a forest that belongs to the witches' territory.
It is where I belong.
From here, the treehouse that I built is visible, so I took him there. As I lay him in the blanket, he tried opening his eyes so I suppose he's still conscious, yet weak enough to rise, so I immediately left his side and step outside of the treehouse in case he regains his strength but base on his conditions I don't think he'll last with me. I went back and lit the lamp.
Light touched his face and finally, I saw every inch of beauty as I travel my eyes, left in awe as I noticed his pale skin let his eyelashes and bushy eyebrows stand out, his lips are rosy as the liquid it craves. He's like a creature chiseled by the gods.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I remember what I should have to do first. I checked his bruises they're all healing slowly makes me wonder why.
And I saw the head of the arrow still stuck in his stomach.
I smelt something strange with the blood. I can distinguish his blood but there is some strange substance in his abdomen part.
So, I cleanse the surrounding of the wound that's covered in blood. And tried to pull out the small head chunk of the arrow. I heard him growl which made me froze from what I am doing but his eyes remain closed so I continue until I was able to pull the whole thing.
His skin is paler than before. His state is critical. For I looked at the wound and discovered that his blood was poisoned, perhaps it's the substance I've smelled while in the midst of it.
My eyes then clenched as reality finally sink.
"A mere foolish, Saoirse..." I sighed and slowly relaxed as my eyes landed on this stranger. My guardian will kill me if they knew about this.
Number one rule, never interfere with things that are out of my business, yet here I am.
"Who are you?" I coldly whispered and study him. My body shifted abruptly while my hand caressed his face. I badly want answers, for time tortures me as my mind kept wondering.
I flinched and retract my hands from touching him. His skin burns me alive. This golden eyes man made me doubt my existence.
Why am I in this state? Why did I act recklessly for this mere creature?
I groan and remember that his state is quite severe. So I removed my cloak and head out to get some fresh air. I thought of some ways on how to heal him.
My guardians were skilled when it comes to this matter. I often sneaked out and read all of the explicit books they have hidden.
Curiosity kills that's the reason why I often do things without thinking twice. But tonight is unusual out of all the moments in my entire existence.
Yet his is way uniquely risky.
I poured the black sand circulated from the treehouse and muttered some spells so that no one can notice and breakthrough unless it's from the powerful witches like my guardians.
I decided to go back from our place and delivered the things they asked me to search for.
"You're late." Harrison strictly said. His eyes study me and I felt annoyed by it.
I clenched my jaw, rolled my eyes, and ignored him. He's about to hold my wrist but I stopped him.
"Don't you dare," I firmly uttered and started to walk away but before I reach the door I turned to face him and speak.
"How well do you know about other creatures?" His hazel hair swoon from the breeze of wind and his ocean eyes ascended through mine. He chuckled and lower his face a little and then stood firmly to witness his sudden swing of mood only to witness the darkened face.
"Enough to know what's diversion and chaos mean." I slowly nodded and contain my poker face as I noticed how he clench his jaw and the way his posture seems odd.
Like a warrior trained who's been free from the cold and excruciating war.
"So, I suggest you listen and control the wild driven inside you." he added and that's where I take my leave and head inside.
"Rhiannon she's too driven and naive!" a sharp and loud voice welcomes me as soon as I enter the house.
They are for sure arguing, what exactly, oh yes about how I'm so naive and stubborn. All true, mother.
"And that's why we are here Saowenee." Father banter, I stood still waiting for my mom's reply. However, I heard her sighed deeply and I decided to make my presence known.
"My lovely guardians, Rhiannon and Saowenee here are your requests. And--
Saowenee cut me off while she glared at me. "Enough with the reasoning Saoirse. I know you've been wandering around the forest--
So I did too. Only to make my Father Rhiannon sighed in disappointment. "These creatures lurking on each border. What exactly are they? How come I don't know anything about it? We witches are powerful..then how come we're like prisoners who hide for a crime we didn't ought to admit?" I surprisingly burst my breath getting heavier as time goes by.
Mother was stunned by me and so is my Father. They stared at me surprised and mad for sure for being disrespectful.
"I need answers," I whispered then felt the throb in my chest as my eyes start to glitters forming tears to stream.
Rhiannon crystal blue stares and closed their distance, Saowenee who studies every action I do.
Then I heard Saowenee coldly says, "That's something you must not know."
My shoulders weakened and so is my hope to hear the words I've been longing for. Yet here I am caged and naive. In this world that's bigger than what they want me to see.
"But we are here to help you. Especially when chaos is coming through." Saowenee ended the sentence as it ended my heavy breathing of mine.
