Chapter 8 - Suspicious

Third POV:

Everything went back to normal. Or as she implies to show. Frustrated, her mind was still troubled by the thought of the days spent with that golden-eyed creature.

She finds every moment to act as nothing happened. It's been a month since her end of sneaking out. Her guardians went back home that same week that they left. Strangely, his Father's right hand; Harrison has been weirdly nice.

Nice means of He has not meddled with any of her business. He simply walked and act like she doesn't exist. Not when her Father calls out for her presence or when she roamed the Library.

Not one afternoon, Saoirse's guardians were out for days, again. Her eyes were sharp and piercing with madness as she gazes through Harrison's two pools of stormy grey.

She exclaimed, "What the hell do you think you're doing." Saoirse held her deadly tone. Harrison kept her cornered between his arms and chuckled dangerously.

"You sneaky little one. Tsk tsk, " he playful said yet his face darkened.

"I found some missing bottles and I assume it was Master's but as I've had mentioned it to him. He's completely oblivious."

Saoirse kept her face unknown as she fought on her mind to keep her posture. She clenches her eyes and chuckled. "And your point is?" she asked while tilting her left eyebrow.

He sighed and analyze every little action she does but much to his dismay. He captive only one. And that's her usual expression. The cold and stern gaze that held danger.

"I'm truly aware of your usual bitch face, as of matter of act. I'm truly aware of how you are so skillful to hide whatever that troubles seem to get to you yet manage to stay the same." he pondered.

Saoirse's eyes remained darker and her patience became thinner than ever. So Harrison ends up on the floor with a scowling face. He was stunned by her strength but stand immediately and glared at her.

"You're a naive little one who is been dying to be freed. And sooner or later, trouble gets to you or perhaps it already is?" He countered while looking a bit amused as he finally witnesses the change that happened on Saoirse's face.

"Fuck off." Saoirse snapped and her stares suddenly made Harrison gulped. He frowns as he watched Saoirse left him there nervously chuckling. He cleared his throat then he shook his head, took out something that made him smirk.

"Bloody hell," Luther exclaimed as his mouth agape. Seattle chuckled then stared amused at Ruke.

Ruke stands so still in his cold yet powerful gaze. His appearance clouded some thunderstorm once he enters the Kingdom. Walking straighter like he ain't feeling any pain.

People were stunned. He knows that some were happy while some were not.

"Indeed, mate. He's alive and kicking as you said before this fucker doesn't die easily." Seattle flashed a smirked.

Luther suddenly turn pale and gulped.

Lazarus welcomed his niece Ruke with a warm embrace. Ruke held his hand and stopped his Uncle by tapping his shoulder and meet his gaze for affirmation that he is thankful for the time he was gone.

"Oh, my precious, Nephew! How have you been? Where have you been all this time?"

"I'm glad you are back," Lazarus announced in joy as he laughed and his guards from behind bowed their heads for respect.

Ruke remained his expression and nod "I still have a business to do." he coldly said not in the mood to talk so he gazes again at his Uncle Lazarus one more time and walked inside the Kingdom.

Seattle smiled and his face contain joy as he gaze at Ruke. Then his ocean eyes gradually change when he saw Lazarus gazing at him.

"You did a good job finding him," Lazarus said then Seattle furrowed his eyebrows

"It is my duty, My lord to serve and save my Highness, If you'd excuse me your majesty needs me" He bowed before turning his back on the Count.

Luther remained standing there but soon took a step and throw a gaze at Lazarus cleared his throat and his eyes looked away from Lazarus gaze.

Lazarus chuckled then turned to leave. Seattle continues walking and Luther came after him.

They walked down the path where Ruke entered. Seattle noticed Luther's sudden changes in mood. He doesn't know if he is terrified by Lazarus or just because of the turn of events. Seattle just shrugs it off and continues walking to the room Ruke went on.

"I've collected all of our troops," Seattle uttered. Their face was the shade of warrior who's on war.

Ruke nodded his gaze was focused on the written plan they secretly plotted. Only the two who knows what was about to happen. Luther was out, he excused himself to run some errands.

Ruke let him with Seattle's dismay they continue to go on what they plan.

"Each piece held purposes," Ruke muttered out of the blue his gaze remained on the table.

Seattle listened and Ruke continued, "Each one held power, like on chess or domino, one wrong move."

"All shall perish." Seattle finished the sentence which their gaze met. And there's some bond of connection flick between the two. Finally, found the missing pieces.

A sudden knock flicker upon, both eyes gazes on the door frame.

"Amerah..." Ruke whispered, his face changed and lightened up. Seattle bit his lip from laughing as he noticed the changes on Ruke's face.

Amerah walked straight to where Ruke and Seattle are talking. As she arrives at the table she gives Seattle a smile, Seattle excuse himself and winks at Ruke before stepping out of the room, Ruke pretended like he didn't see that.

From a lightened face he switches his expression into a smile and greeted the lady.

"Amerah, where have you been?" Ruke, ask with all the affection he could express.

"Somewhere. And I told you not to call me just by my name, you lil' vamp."

"Somewhere? Somewhere doesn't explain where you've been for almost a year, also lil' vamp? Am I seem so little to you? Tsk. I'll call you what I want to call you Amerah." Ruke blurted out all his questions and playful retaliation to what Amerah said.

"Someday you'll know. " Amerah softly smiled at Ruke.

"You're still little to me no matter how old and big you get. Maybe I should remind you of who I am and the gap between our age?" Amerah calmly added.

Ruke almost rolled his eyes. 'Cause he knows he doesn't need her to remind him of how far she is from him and what role she plays in his life.

Amerah, She's one of the goddesses who let the flow of life in every territory balance. Where there should be predators and prey. And despite the gap between their age, her appearance remains as beautiful as the newly bloomed rose which won't wither any time.

"Someday we'll always be unknown, Amerah. Can't it be known even just for now?" Ruke continuously asked.

"Have patient, I can't unfold things before your eyes, cause it's yours to unfold." She patiently and calmly explained.

"Just remember this 'life exists in the absence of one."
