Chapter 12 - You'll be kept alive...for now

Knowing that Wes would become a problem if he began to wander around aimlessly. By the entity's request, Enrico paid the police to send Wes to Green Dolphin Street Prison, also known as the aquarium.

He didn't want to cause more trouble for Wes than was needed and that, to him, meant that he would need to stay out of Wes's life for the time being.

Even though he could, he chose not to continue to stay. Instead choosing to go back to St. Jacob's Seminary.

Mainly because he wanted to finish up his time there and take a break from recent events.

Bur before that he needed to finish something. Before he left he went around the town and killed every friend of the private detective that was affiliated with the KKK. It wasn't easy, it took a few days for him to find one of them but when he did it didn't take him long to find the rest.

Some may have left the town either because they didn't live there or because they were afraid of being the next one out of their little friend group killed.

Since there was nothing left for him to do he called up a taxi.

When he sat down, he summoned the entity that stole Wes's memories.

He didn't tell it to do anything, he only watched it. And it did the same...from what he could tell since it didn't have any pupils.

After a bit of starring, the entity began to scratch around an area of its face where he thought its mouth would have been if it had one.

Looking at the driver Enrico made the entity walk toward him to try and get a reaction. Yet the man did not so much as twitch. The entity was right up against his face and once again the man didn't have so much as a care.

If this man was anything to go by then normal people couldn't see these strange beings. Naturally, he needed a bigger sample size before coming to any answers.

After a little bit of thinking, Enrico wondered if the entity it could create the discs itself. Or if it needed someone to create them from. Instead of turning one's memories into a disc could it create a completely blank disc? Could that disc have something be put onto it, like memories or even commands?

Feeling a strange sensation in his hands, Enrico looked back at the entity, who was now holding a thin silver disc, one that looked exactly the same as the ones that came out of Wes and Perla. As if to respond to his thoughts.

Eventually, they came to a stop at a traffic light.

Deciding to see if his theory was correct Enrico began to speak.

"When you drop me off you won't ask me to pay for the ride."

Before the driver could properly respond and without him giving any kind of command, the entity swiftly injected the disc into the driver's head.

Waiting a bit to see if the man would continue to respond, Enrico waited to see if his command would be followed or not. And considering the driver didn't immediately start to chastise him for his words he believed so.

As he waited to get to the Seminary, he continued to observe the entity. It didn't do much aside from occasionally scratching at its mouth area. Even though it didn't have one.

Was it itchy? Could it even feel the need to itch?

These were the questions that Enrico had. Whether or not it was true was anyone's guess.

The entity would occasionally check the car's clock. Why it did that, Enrico did not know nor did it tell him why. Something he knew it could easily do.

Eventually, the taxi pulled up to the seminary and just as he thought, the driver didn't ask for any payment.

Unsummoning the entity, Enrico made his way to his hotel room. He began unpacking and getting ready for tomorrow. All while pondering his decision to send Wes to Green Dolphin. Should he have taken the time to explain everything to Wes? Would that have even worked? Enrico had yet to know what he could and couldn't do.

Even if he explained everything and returned Wes's memories, Wes would, most likely, still be angry at him. And since he knows so little about what Wes's abilities even are. Wes might have had the ability to just kill him on the spot. And with Wes's pure hatred, he would.

Sighing Enrico decided to stop theorising about it. What's done is done and even though he's now in prison, Enrico would make sure that nobody would treat Wes horribly.

Unknown to him the entity had summoned itself and had left the room. It began making its way towards a motel a couple of blocks away.

It had seen something, someone and it knew what it had to do. It didn't care about keeping information away from Enrico, mainly because that was what it was supposed to do.

As it arrived at the motel its arm began to shake slightly.

Suddenly without any warning, the entity's long arms split into two. With the new pair growing slightly longer. This caused the position of its body to go from upright to slightly hunched over in order to keep all four of its arms on the ground and still straight. It hated hiding its arms. They always felt weird ad uncomfortable when it hid or split them.

It tested out its `new` arms. Making sure that everything was fine. That nothing had gone wrong with its creation. Seeing as there was nothing wrong with the `new` appendages, the entity snuck its way into the building and waited for one of its occupances to get back.

It knew who they were and what it needed to get from them. Eventually, they would return and that's when it would strike.

Not too long later, a fair-skinned young man with messy dark and purple hair walked through the door. Before he could even close it the entity dropped down from the ceiling and slashed him across the face. Triggering its ability and causing him to fall unconscious.

It knew that he hadn't awakened his stand yet but even if he did it wouldn't matter. A second later a disc came out of his head. It wasn't a stand disc or a memory disc but an ability disc.

One formed from the power that he was given. By who or what it did not know nor did it care. But it knew one thing.

It hated this boy. It wanted to rip him piece by piece. To hear him scream out in agony. And as much as it wanted to, it couldn't. Well, at least right now. It didn't know what would happen if it did. From what it had seen `gravity` was a very real, very powerful existence. Who won and who lost was dictated by it. It didn't know if `gravity` was flexible or set in stone. And it wished, more than anything to find out.

Creating a new disc in its only free hand. It began walking to the boy's head while speaking.

"You will not remember this encounter, young one, yes. You will simply think that after arriving home you immediately fell asleep on the bed, yes~." It said as it gently pushed the disc into his head.

Picking up the boy it brought him into his room and placed him on the bed. It stood there wondering for a few minutes. Thinking about what it had seen. It wasn't much just a few glimpses of the future. Or a possible future. Perhaps a different universe. Which of these theories was correct was anyone's guess.

It needed to plan carefully. It needed the arrow for, without it, it couldn't see the future. It couldn't create meaningful plans. It couldn't help Enrico.
