A few days ago Enrico was violently awoken up in pain. Immense pain. It felt like he was being submerged in the Sun.
He didn't know what caused it. But it was so bad that he couldn't move for the entire day.
When he was able to move again he noticed something that confused and worried him greatly.
His nails had grown slightly, anywhere between 1 to 2 centimetres in length and his teeth had gotten slightly sharper. Enrico was terrified. This, should not have happened, at all.
For the first few minutes, he was lost within his own head. Thinking about how and why this had happened. He knew that it had something to do with the pain. But other than that he didn't know why this had happened to his body.
Wait...his body. His body...
Enrico realised something that he never once thought about. Why has his body manifested traits that belonged to his old body? Such a thing shouldn't be possible.
Enrico didn't know what to think. For the first time in his new life, he was scared.
Somehow he had influenced his own body. Changing It on a cellular level. Of course, he had no way to know for sure until he got his DNA tested. And that took time. He could easily pay for it but the trouble came from making sure the information didn't spread. Of course, with the entity's help, it'll be easier with its ability to control people.
As he thought about what to do about his situation he brought out the stone arrow. Within a millisecond the arrow appeared in his hand.
He looked over it. He was honestly impressed by the craftsmanship. He wondered if the oddly shaped beetle on top of the arrow meant anything to craftsmen or if they just did it for an esthetic purpose. There was a small part of him that believed that the arrow had something to do with the pain but he quickly dismissed it. How would it have even done that? Why would the effect be so delayed?
Too many questions. Not enough information.
He needed to find Dio.
And not a second later, just as he thought. The arrow began spinning before locking into a single direction.
The arrow began floating above his palm as the entity began walking forwards with it for a bit before stopping. It looked around for a bit before moving to the hallway. Enrico followed it seeing as it was following the arrow.
Enrico continued to follow the entity. At first, he was curious at how It would hide the arrow. And as if to respond to him, it started o slow down. It got closer and closer to him until it started to become transparent. It hid the arrow within his coat as they reached the ground floor.
Enrico continued to follow the arrow's directions until he came across a church. The arrow was pointing straight at it even when he moved around it, the arrow still pointed at the church.
A small smile found its way to his mouth as he spoke. "He must have a thing for holy places."
Enrico made his way into the church.
He began looking around for any signs of Dio but wasn't able to find him. He followed the arrow and yet he couldn't find anything.
He looked back at the arrow to find it pointing behind him.
"So you've come to find me? I'm not entirely surprised that you've come to see me." Someone said behind him in a very gentle and slightly seductive voice.
"I suppose so, I'm quite lucky that I was able to find you so close to where I'm staying. I guess you could consider this an instance of gravity, yes?" Enrico said as he turned around. He saw Dio sitting down on one of the benches. His arms were posted on the backrest.
Dio chuckled a bit at Enrico's statement. He himself was drawn to this place and it appears it was for this reason. Dio's interest in Enrico grew considerably. However, he still needed to see how much Enrico was willing to follow him.
"I believe so Enrico. Tell me, you're a man of god yes? What are your thoughts on other religions? On heaven?" Dio asked. His voice was still its usual calm and seductive self, his eyes however told his actual intentions.
Enrico was taken aback by the question. He didn't know why Dio had suddenly asked him such questions. The first one made sense but the other? Not so much.
"Well, I suppose that they don't really bother me. I'm not going to despise them just because they don't follow the same god as me." Enrico stated. He wasn't lying. He had no reason to. Dio had given him the weird beetle arrow after all and he had no reason to distrust him.
"But in terms of heaven. I suppose it depends on what you consider heaven to be. Some see it as a place that you go to when you die. Others, a state of being. Me personally...well, I haven't really thought about it that much." He said. He began to look down as he finished. Moving the arrow in his palm as he did so.
Dio hummed in thought at Enrico's answer. He didn't really know what he aspected from Enrico. He didn't see him as a zealot nor someone faithless. But the answer was insightful nonetheless.
"Tell me, and I know this may seem weird but by any chance have you cut yourself on the arrow?" Dio suddenly asked.
Enrico paused for a second. His eyes widened at Dio's question.
"I see, so you have been cut and you survived...interesting. Rejoice my friend for you are among the chosen few of this world destined for greatness." Dio said.
Enrico hastily looked up to find Dio right in front of him. He didn't know how he got so close so fast. But it frightened him at the ease of how he was able to do so.
"You know I never got your name when we first met and there's much more I wish to talk with you about." Dio said leaning over to Enrico's ear. "So why don't we continue this upstairs? No one can bother us up there."
