Chapter 17 - I feel sorry for you...well sorry what happened Pt.1

Enrico had long since realised who had been following him. He was shocked to find out it was the girl he had saved a while back. From what he saw of her she had soft golden caramel skin and dark red hair.

A part of him wanted to confront her and find out but a part of him didn't. Like there was some kind of force holding him back. Perhaps it was a gut feeling. Perhaps it was something else.

She was at the very least trying not to make it so obvious that she was following him. She also seemed conflicted about something. He could see it in her eyes. The hesitation, the fear. It would obvious to anyone that there was something on her mind. Perhaps it was her past that was holding her back.

He was in the library as he thought about his next course of action. In his hand was a partly dismantled clock, its pieces had been neatly organised on the table. His stand hovered next to him, carefully examining the pieces for even the smallest sign of faulty.

If it would fine any it would repair it and slightly upgrade it by eating it, then spitting it out. Even if it wanted to it couldn't keep its excitement in check, even its mouth was showing.

The future that it saw was slowly becoming more and more of the present. And that its abilities would grow and improve as it would evolve. Oh and the Stands. The thought of removing such an integral part of someone's life, made its grin grow wider, threatening to split its mouth wide open.

A few minutes later Enrico had fully repaired the clock and was on his way to return it. The girl followed a bit behind him. As expected.

As he turned a corner he quickly Hid behind an arch of a door as he waited for the girl to walk past him. She wouldn't see or even know where he went thanks to his illusions. At least that's what he thought.

For some reason, she knew where he was...at least his general location.

"Interesting...Truly interesting, yes~." His Stand began. "She too must be granted a unique ability...How wonderful, yes~."

Enrico didn't say anything, only watching as she looked around for him. She seemed at a loss for where he went. And grew more and more upset and sad at her inability to find him.

Every time he would use his illusions to hide himself from her. He would observe her reaction. And every time she gets more upset and afraid. What was she so afraid of? He wanted to find out. There was just something about her that he found...alluring. And yet so disgusting. He didn't even realise it but his hands were getting closer and closer to her neck. Ready to snap it. And his mouth was starting to water, as a hunger that he didn't realise he had started to grow.

But before he could he noticed the water in her eyes. She was tearing up. She was crying.

This snapped him out of his little stupor. He was confused. Why was she crying? He was so confused that he didn't even register that his hands were going close to her neck.

His Stand, manifesting behind him, purposed an idea. A way to understand her actions.

"Why are you crying?" Enrico asked.

The girl looked up to see Enrico standing in front of her.

"You seem down. Why is that?" Enrico asked tilting his head to the side.

The girl began stuttering. Her words failed to properly come out.

"You-you just disappeared." She said, tears streaming down her face. "I wanted to thank you for saving me but you just kept disappearing. The only person who did something."

Enrico watched as she balled her eyes out. The look in her eyes as she cried told him everything he needed to know about her...well, everything important at least.

As she cried, Claire felt like something was wrong. Looking up she saw Enrico's eyes melting as his body turned into a cloudy white.

She was confused. She didn't understand what was happening. But the thought that she wasn't even talking to him; that it was all in her head. Broke her. The person who saved her. The only person to so much as lift a finger. And he wasn't even there.

She kept muttering, "No, no, please don't leave me." over and over as she watched him disappear.

Suddenly her face was grabbed and turned. She once more met the gaze of Enrico.

She didn't know what she was looking at. Shakily her hands went up to his face, feeling it to see if she once again wasn't seeing things.

"You, my dear were quite persistent. To think that you'd follow me for this long, I must commend you." He said smiling as she clutched tightly to his chest, still crying. He felt a little bad for tricking her with his illusions but once he got a good look at her eyes he immediately knew why they were drawn to each other.

As he picked her up he noticed that she had fallen asleep and that something was moving between them.

Moving her clothes slightly he saw that the arrow had jammed itself into her. Frantically he summoned his Stand to remove the arrow. Looking down at the hole in her clothes he was shocked to find that there was no sign of blood or even a wound.

He looked back at the arrow as his Stand placed it into its mouth for safekeeping.

As he looked at her he knew that there was truly something special about her for the arrow to pierce her.

After a bit of consideration, he decided to take her back to his apartment. He didn't know what her Stand was nor what it could do. And if it lashed out it could possibly hurt someone. Even if it felt wrong he still decided to do it.
