Chapter 18 - I feel sorry for you...well sorry what happened Pt.2

Claire woke up with a jolt. She looked around to find herself in completely different surroundings.

The place seemed to be old, with overgrown plants everywhere. And yet. The place didn't seem to be that old. The furniture, decorations and material of everything felt good. And it looked to be in relatively good condition. A year of use at most.

As she looked around she eventually stumbled on Enrico by a window. He seemed to be distracted by something.

She was about to approach him when she noticed something. At first, she thought that she was seeing things again, but no. There really was a black halo hovering around his head.

Enrico slowly turned around allowing Claire to see what he was looking at. A plant pot. Claire didn't know what she was expecting but she certainly didn't expect that.

"You've woken up. That's good. You had me worried for a second." Enrico said happily.

Claire didn't really know how to respond. The situation was just too much for her.

As she tried to formulate words she noticed that the plant pot had started to shake. More and violently it shook until a giant vine shot from within it.

It ricocheted off the ceiling and the floor near Enrico and towards her.

She shut her eyes in fear and waited for the impact. Yet nothing happened.

Opening her eyes slightly she saw the vine had missed her and had instead hit another vine above her before wrapping down to her legs.

As if things couldn't get any weirder, roses started to bloom from the vine.

"You can see it, can't you." Enrico began. "The halo on my head." Claire slowly nodded. She didn't understand the point of the question. Of course she could see it.

Enrico's smile grew slightly. "Well then, now doesn't that make things interesting." He said as the plants in the room began to shake.

Claire readied herself for them to jump all over the place but instead of that they slowly retreated. Every single vine thinned and shrunk as they returned to their respective pots.

"Sorry for the mess. I wasn't expecting you to wake up this early. Oh, and before you ask we're in my apartment. I brought you up here after you passed out."

Claire blushed slightly at the revelation of her location. But it quickly faded as she realised something that Enrico had said.

"Wait but, why does being able to see that halo make me interesting?"

Enrico chuckled a little. "Well, it'll be easier to show you."

Enrico walked up to her side and lifted up her arm. "Close your eyes and search within you." Even though she was nervous she followed his instructions nonetheless.

"The feeling you're looking for should feel both alien and completely natural. Don't fear it as it's a part of you. Embrace it and bring it out."

Claire tried to do so but she wasn't really feeling anything. She tried again but still came up with nothing. Nothing but a weird tingling sensation on her skin.

Opening her eyes she saw that parts of her skin had turned into linen crimson bandages, the kind that you'd see on an Egyptian mummy. She was about to freak out when she looked at Enrico she calmed down.

He was extremely calm but at the same time happy. He praised her for her ability to bring out her Stand, whatever that was, and how interesting it was. Claire blushed at his compliment and chuckled slightly at his intrigue.

She knew that he was an inquisitive person and that he would often be the only one to ask and answer questions during class. Enrico lightly chuckled at what he was seeing. But stopped as he noticed something in the corner of his eye.

Looking to his right, behind Claire, he saw something that confused him greatly. A small hand-sized CALIPSO satellite floated a few steps behind her with the number 1 stretched across its right satellite array; with a red eye acting as its lens.

The part that confused Enrico was not that it was there but what it resembled. The CALIPSO satellite shouldn't have even been an idea yet.

Nonetheless. He quickly broke out into excited laughter.

"You, Claire, are truly something special. I'm quite lucky to have met someone so close to myself."

Claire's eyes widened at Enrico's words. "Yo-you know my name?" She stuttered. She honestly didn't that he'd recognise her let alone know her name.

"Well of course I know your name, I know everyone's name. And besides." Enrico gently cupped her chin. "I could never forget a face as beautiful as yours."

Enrico, who was slightly smiling, became confused as he saw a small trail trickle down Claire's nose. That was until her body went limp. That's when Enrico realised that she fainted. And the only thing that came out of his mouth was a quiet and confused "huh."
