Chereads / Crazy- A Cedric Diggory Fanfic / Chapter 9 - Dress Shopping

Chapter 9 - Dress Shopping

With the changing of the seasons snow came, delicate patterned crystals falling through the grey sky. The yule ball was coming soon, meaning that I had to get the perfect dress for my date with Cedric.

I was sitting by the fire in the common room with Ada and Hermione, making small talk about the yule ball.

"So...who's your date to the yule ball?" I probed Hermione.

"Viktor Krum." she mumbled.

"Who?" I asked, teasing her.

"Viktor Krum." she asserted, making sure I heard her this time. She was blushing profusely, small strands of light brown curly hair falling over her rosy cheeks.

Ada gasped dramatically, "The Bulgarian bon bon quidditch star!"

"Oh, shut it!" Hermione snapped, embarrassed.

"Who are you going with Ada?" I inquired. "Well, I'm going with George." Ada said while looking down at her feet.

"Ooh! Ada's got a boyfriend." Hermione teased.

"Oh please, talk about boyfriends! Allison's going with Mr. Pretty-boy Diggory." Ada scoffed.

At this point, we were all in a teasing and laughing battle, annoying each other about our dates.

"Speaking of the yule ball, should we go dress shopping today?" I inquired.

"Yes! That sounds like the perfect thing to do today." Ada replied quickly.

"Someone's desperate." I giggled.

"Yeah desperate for something to do. C'mon let's head out." Ada suggested.

We all got our snow gear on and exited Hogwarts, making sure to bring some money along for the shops.

We walked down the large hill on the path to the shrieking shack, throwing snowballs at each other on the way. I had never been to Hogsmeade before, so I was excited to see Honeydukes, and most importantly Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions. Hermione had told me and Ada about the different shops and what was in them, making sure to put it in specific detail.

Snow covered the stone buildings, giant icicles hanging from the windows and gutters. Me, Hermione and Ada were all walking arm in arm through the shops, oohing and aahing at all of the different products.

After several hours of getting lunch and shopping we finally stumbled upon the dress shop. We anxiously combed through the dresses, making sure not to miss a single one.

"It's perfect." I breathed, a large grin spreading across my face.

I stumbled into the dressing room, put it on and walked out of the dressing room, trying not to trip over the fabric. My two friends who were previously chatting brought their attention to me, and immediately stopped talking.

"So, how do I look?" I asked as I took a shaky breath.

"Stunning." Hermione stated, still taking in the dress.

"Let me just say that Cedric is once lucky guy." Ada concluded.

"Well he certainly thinks so." I remarked.

"Have you seen the way he looks at you Alice? I'm convinced he's in love with you." Ada confirmed.

After we all found our dresses, we payed and exited the shop, making sure to yell out a "thank you" to the workers.

Our feet crunched in sync in the snow, leaving a small path behind us. We neared the woods when I was clocked square in the face with a snowball. I looked up and saw something I wish I didn't see.

Malfoy.

I saw Cleo standing right behind him, giggling and admiring him.

"What was that for?" I called out. "Just all in good fun, Mudblood." he snarled.

My blood boiled at his comment, rage quickly filling up every inch of my body. What happened to Cleo? She used to be such a nice girl. Now she was like one of Malfoy's goon girls, following him around everywhere he went.

The blood status had really gotten to her head, and I didn't even consider her as one of my friends anymore.

"Let's leave the pack of Mudbloods behind, Draco, let them be the disgusting, filthy creatures that they are." Cleo taunted.

Hermione slowly walked over to them, glaring straight into their blue eyes. She looked up, noticing that there was a snow covered tree right over them.

I noticed what she was going to do.

Good job, 'Mione.

"Wingardium leviosa." she announced. A huge heap of snow lifted into the air, and with a wish of her wand the snow fell over Cleo and Draco.

White clumps of snow covered the blonde couple, as they let out strings of curses.

"You're going to regret this!" Draco sputtered.

"My father will hear about this!" he yelled as Hermione, Ada and I walked away.

A long silence occurred thereafter, letting us take in the scenery.

"That's what I call a fun day." Ada laughed, finally breaking the silence.

"Me too." Hermione agreed.

"Me three."

A/N: Sorry, it wouldn't let me put up a picture in this chapter. (I'm also sorry for the short chapter) But get ready for next chapter because we got some drama, romance, and dancing going on 😏. Also, I'll describe the dress, makeup, hair and shoes I promise.
