The guests are sitting on the prepared venue for viewing Aubrey kneeling in front of Reinhold's ancient burial tablet as the beginning of the wishing well ceremony. There is no unusual happening because this is indeed the beginning of the ceremony.
This is also the first time they have meet Aubrey as the only daughter of Amelio Reinhold. They were stunned when they looked at her stunning and beautiful face which she inherited from her mother. She looks like the younger version of her mother, Alicia Smithshield.
She is kneeling down in front of the ancestor's burial tablet for seven hours. It is the open ceremony for showing sincerity and respect.
Her lower limbs are getting numb. She wanted to rest but everyone's eyes are focusing on her so she's forced to stay like that.
She was surrounded by the crowd while shutting her eyes as she chanted ancient language of Reinhold for calling the guardian of the wishing well. She is wearing a white cheongsam of ancient times.
Cedric couldn't take away his eyes from the young girl. Her face is exquisite like an angel descending from heaven.
Frederick grinned as he followed his son's gaze while Elise is talking with other wives of aristocrat family.
A bell rang loudly and Aubrey stood up. Her feet got numb but tried to move it for the sake of this ceremony. She's not allowed to show mistakes.
While she is heading towards the direction of wishing well, the wind breezed wildly which give an ominous feeling.
The soft whispers of the wives and casual talks of businessmen stopped while their eyes focused on Aubrey's direction.
Grandma Amy felt uneasy. She wanted to stop Aubrey from heading her way to the wishing well but her eyes widened when Aubrey suddenly looked ahead and mumbled something.
At first, they couldn't hear Aubrey's voice but the second time she speaks, her words made them shiver. This scene frightened Grandma Amy. Her hands trembled!
"Here it is!" she exclaimed while her voice is trembling. She felt a strong presence coming from within the wishing well. Her eyes are focusing on Aubrey's eyes. She could see the fade figure of someone else but she couldn't recognize it. If ever she does, she doesn't want to let that fade figure that she could! It is forbidden to let other people see the guardian or god if you don't have Reinhold's blood! Yes, she's wife of France but she's just a wife! She doesn't have the blood of Reinhold on her veins!
"Hmm mm?" that fade figure felt something unusual but look at Grandma Amy's direction.
"Oh?" the fade figure was shocked on Grandma Amy's reaction. The fade figure frowned but eased up when a little girl asked him a questions. Well, the fade figure doesn't care if ever Grandma Amy really recognized him.
Usually, the Reinhold children are trembling whenever they felt something unusual but Aubrey was different. Her eyes are filled with curiosity.
"Who are you?"
"Are you the guardian of the wishing well?" she asked excitedly and forgotten the proper way of greeting the guardian of wishing well. Anyway, the fade figure denied that he is the guardian of wishing well.
"No? Then, what are you?" Aubrey tilted her head in confusion. She thought that it should be the guardian of wishing well who revealed himself today but... Is there a mistake here?
The Reinhold Family couldn't take their eyes from her while listening to her words. Her innocent voice casually speak with someone like talking to a friend.
"I'm not the guard but I am known as the god of war and destiny. I have overpowered strength among gods and could also change the destiny of certain person if I need to" he replied. Aubrey felt that this fade figure has mysterious aura she couldn't describe with human words. She was in trance but immediately came to her senses and was shocked of what the fade figure answered.
"Haaa?! You are the god of war and destiny? Why haven't I heard about you? I thought that the god of wish resided here?" that's what the ancient books of Reinhold said about the wishing well.
Someone from ancient times said that she saw the god of wishes. This god of wish decided to reside in the wishing well and only revealed himself whenever a member of Reinhold family wished beside the wishing well until it becomes the tradition of Reinhold family.
However, this fade figure said he is the god of war and destiny...?
"Oh, he was in vacation because he thought no one would come after your twin brother because he didn't feel any children aside from him so he thought of having a vacation for the meantime" he replied while feeling awkward but still released his mysterious aura.
"Then, what about me?" Aubrey asked with disappointment.
Everyone was shocked when they heard her voice. She's talking to someone they couldn't see nor hear but they witnessed this. They focused on her attentively and wanted not to missed out important details of Aubrey's words.
"Your soul and body is already seven years old. When the god of wishes knows about this, he will definitely grant you a death because of neglecting the wishing well tradition but fear not, I am here right now. When I have to gift a certain mortal, no god could stop me. However, you will still received the heavenly punishment. What would happen if every member of Reinhold family stops the tradition? Isn't it pitifully for the god of wishes?" the fade figure said.
"So, the heavenly punishment is real? What kind of heavenly punishment is it? " she asked.
"Aubrey! Who are you talking to?" Andrew couldn't take it anymore when he heard that Aubrey talked about heavenly punishment.
"Elder Brother, there is a spirit of an old man with long-beared here. He said that he is the god of war and destiny but the god of wish isn't here today!" she exclaimed innocently with disappointed eyes.
"You will know after the ceremony. It takes time to effect and the gift will help you adjust your spirit for having an overpowered strength" he replied.
Aubrey's eyes lit up. "Are you saying that my wish is granted by you?" she asked.
The old man nodded while caressing his long beard, "Yes. But having great strength comes with great responsibility." he replied vaguely and stood up "I couldn't stand longer in mortal world. See you later, little dragon!" as he waved his hand and vanished.
Aubrey stared at the vanishing figure of the old man and frowned, "Why am I having a feeling that I know you, old man?" she murmured while contemplating if ever she had met the old man before.
Someone tapped her shoulder and her consciousness came to senses. It's her twin brother with worried expression.
"Are...Are you okay?" he asked while his eyes are shaking because of Aubrey's absent-mindedness earlier, as well as what happened earlier.
"I'm okay, elder brother" she answered coldly. Why is she being cold? Because of slow changes are happening to her senses. She couldn't describe how.
However, for her brother's perspective, she's being cold because of tiredness.
