Aubrey!" she heard her twin brother's anxious shout when she fainted. She doesn't know why is she suddenly felt so weak.
Before her consciousness faded, she heard everyone's gasped like they have witnessed something unbelievable. She frowned.
When Aubrey fainted, her body shone brightly but it is enough for them to witnessed the changes on her body. Her hair shortened, height increased a bit and her physical body flatten like a typical body of a young boy. It's like watching a TV fantasy drama but this time is quite different.
If ever someone look closely on everyone's expression, you could see them being petrified.
"W...What's happening?" Grandma Amy asked while stuttering. She also saw Aubrey's changes. She felt complicated because of happiness and worried.
Happiness, because her body changed into a boy but also felt worried because of what danger it might bring. Everyone witnessed this sudden changes and even if they concealed it there will be someone who will certainly a leak.
"Papa! Aubrey is having a fever!" Andrew shouted and panic.
Amelio dashed forward, lifted Aubrey's body and ran outside while he said coldly, "To do the hospital!"
The guests still digested of what they have witnessed but returned to their senses because of Amelio's cold voice. They wanted to know Aubrey's condition but hesitated because of Grandpa France's domineering look at them.
"Let's end the ceremony. There is sudden emergency and I am hoping that every one of you understand of what you should do after exiting the Reinhold's territory" there is a hidden threat on his voice which makes the guests felt chill on their back, except the Conrad Family.
"You shouldn't worry, Mr. Reinhold. This is an unexpected accident. I will help the concealment of this event" Mr. Conrad expressed his sincerity.
Grandpa France nodded to Mr. Conrad but his gaze is coldly observing everyone and left hurriedly.
On the other side, Cedric felt complicated because of concern and disappointment.
Concern? He was stunned after realizing his feeling. Yes, he was attracted to Aubrey's feminine side but disappointed when she transformed into a man.
He shook his head and decided to bury this unwanted feeling.
"Let's go! I still have to help them to conceal of what happened here. After that, we will visit the hospital. It is not good to severe ties with the Reinhold Family" Elise said but her face showed concern.
In the hospital...
Papa Amelio paced back and forth outside the patient room 306, where Aubrey rests. The private doctor of Reinhold Family is inside to check Aubrey while he is waiting. He couldn't stop himself for being worried.
The changes on Aubrey's body is extraordinary. No sciences encountered this kind of disease, if ever it is really a disease. However, the witnesses know that it is not a diseases but supernatural changes.
The doctor exited the room and walked towards him with bewilderment.
"Is her body okay?" his first question. He couldn't hold back himself on asking of Aubrey's condition. The doctor looked at him with a frown.
"Are you certain that Aubrey was a girl?" he asked.
Amelio was in trance of the doctor's question. He nodded while waiting for the doctor's reply.
"As far as I know, Aubrey has her own pediatric doctor. Please invite her in my office right now with Aubrey's medical files. I wanted to check everything of her past medical records" the doctor said while contemplating if ever the Reinhold Family is playing a joke with him.
"Wait. I wanted to know why" Amelio said as he felt the doctor's distrust.
"To be honest, Mr. Reinhold. There is nothing wrong with your child's body. I was not in-charge of Aubrey's medical records. If you really insist that Aubrey was a girl who turned into a boy, please invite her pediatric doctor in my office right now with the medical files" he said and left.
Amelio immediately called Aubrey's pediatrician to hand over the medical records of Aubrey.
Aubrey's pediatrician handed over the medical records of Aubrey. The gender was obviously marked as female and there were other documents testified about Aubrey since birth. The doctor, Dr. Dennis, frowned because this is the first time he encountered this kind of phenomenon changes like Aubrey's condition.
"There is no records in sciences about her condition. It's like it happened naturally as if Aubrey wasn't a girl but a boy" Dr. Zeller, the pediatrician, said while checking the current body condition of Aubrey.
"Yeah, If there was no medical records cited that Aubrey was a girl, I thought that the Reinhold Family let her disguised as a girl" Dr. Dennis commented without batting an eyelid that Amelio is listening to their conversation.
Amelio sighed, "Even though the Reinhold Family is patriarchal, it doesn't mean that we would let a girl disguised as a boy"
"Mr. Reinhold, we didn't see any abnormalities on Aubrey's body but we will have to do further tests. I suggest Aubrey's visits for twice a week. We haven't discovered any abnormalities but it doesn't mean we would let it be" Dr. Dennis seriously said and stood up.
Amelio nodded and left Dr. Dennis's Office.
Dr. Zeller faced Dr. Dennis and said, "Aubrey's change is heaven-defying. I am eager to experiment on her but I am afraid of retribution so I am suggesting to conceal this secret from the organization or else they will turn the city upside down in order to capture and lock her up" as she sighed defeated.
"She has done a wishing well tradition of Reinhold Family before the changes happened" Dr. Dennis said as he poured tea on two cups. He gave the one cup of tea to Dr. Zeller and sat down on his seat.
"Ohh... Now, I understand. No wonder" Dr. Zeller was shocked when she heard it but turned normal after.
"That wishing well... That's the well where Alicia wish to have a healthy baby when we invited her on Amelio's coming-of-age banquet, right?" Dr. Dennis asked. No one knows that these two doctors are friends of Alicia. Alicia was an orphan and met the two of them in God of Child Orphanage. As they grew older, they became friends until Alicia met Amelio.
Amelio doesn't know the relationship of Dr. Dennis and Dr. Zeller to Alicia but the duo are protecting Aubrey in the dark.
"Speaking of Alicia, have they found her body? It's been seven years since the yacht bombing incident" Dr. Dennis inquired. He sipped on the tea cup and savored the flavor and aroma.
"They haven't yet but why have I feel that Alicia isn't dead yet?" Dr. Zeller's eyes showed confusion why is she feeling this way.
"We haven't her body yet so she's not dead yet" Dr. Dennis's voice turned gentler. His voice smoothen and his eyes showed how is he expecting the sudden appearance of Alicia one day.
Dr. Zeller sighed, "I hope so. She's our youngest sister after all"
They have treated each other as brother and sister. That's why they are giving their best to find her even if she's dead or alive.
Dr. Zeller stood up and patted her coat as she said, "I have to return. I still have to do my duty as a pediatrician. Just call me when Aubrey needs help" and left.
Dr. Dennis looked down on the cup of tea that Dr. Zeller hadn't touch and sighed. Among the two, Dr. Zeller is more closer to Alicia than him.
He stood up and looked for a rag. He cleaned spilled tea on the table, washed the cups and arranged it on the cabinet.
Suddenly, the flock of birds flew aggressively on the sky from outside of his office window. He looked up and frowned.
"What's happening? Why is flow of destiny changes?" he was bewildered and a strong presence descended from the sky. Dr. Dennis was petrified and panted heavily.
"Too strong!" he thought.
"Who? Who is her incarnation?!" he exclaimed but no words came out from his mouth and still couldn't move her limbs.
However, his face showed excitement and expectation.
"Finally! She's here! We have been waiting for so long!" he clenched his hands into fist and immediately bowed down like he is bowing to the monarch and the presence eventually faded.
He was in panic and ran outside of his office to find presence but he failed. He sighed.
"Forget it. She will show up sooner" and smiled.
