Chapter 27

Frederick Claw ~

…..11 HOURS EARLIER…

It has been a hundred and twelve years in our time since Sophia, Elena and Ryan left this world for the human world. Ever since they left, a lot of things have changed here in the supernatural world. We were able to rebuild the Royal coven that was destroyed after the whole 'mutant lycan army' experience and did a lot in the uniting of the supernatural creatures from all over the world if ever Cassius sends any of his minions or dares to show his face here again.

We stand against him alone but we have greater odds if we are fighting as one. Every single day that passes I regret ever bringing Cassius to this world. It's the greatest mistake that I've made in all my centuries. And now. Because of it, my people and all other creatures are living in fear of the monster that rules as the lycan king.

No one has heard from the lycans neither has any encountered them or their king, Cassius. As it stands, no one has a clue of what comes next. Every day, we ask ourselves if sending Elena away was the best decision we made for her good and ours. By the human time, she should be just about seventeen years of age if my calculations are correct.

It remains exactly eight years in her time before as scheduled, we would bring her home to her mother and to save her people from the barbaric rule of Cassius. By then, the magic keeping her powers locked away would have faded away and she would be familiar with her abilities.

I just hope by then she would be all set to fight for her throne. I have no doubt that Sophia would do anything less.

"Your Majesty!" a guard called out pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Yes? What is it?" I asked before taking a sip of blood from a chalice.

"Two witches who call themselves 'The Divine Sisters' request an audience with you. They claim it's a matter of great urgency and it has something to do with….."

"The Tree of Magic!" I exclaimed cutting the guard short of words getting up on my feet.

"Yes, the Tree of Magic." The guard said confirming my words.

"Where are they? Let them in! I will be with them shortly!" I said consecutively getting up from the dining table where I had been seated.

"Yes, your Majesty!" the guard said with a bow as he made his way out of the royal dining chambers.

The Divine sisters are two immortal witches who are linked to the most magical thing in existence – The Tree of Magic. The Tree of Magic is as old as time itself and as old as both worlds. The Divine Sisters are witches whose lives are tied to its. Like the tree, no matter what happens by whatsoever means and by any incident that occurs, those witches can never die.

Their mission is to serve the tree, to protect others from it and to protect tree from others. No one has seen either of them in a thousand years. Not since the last time the tree moved through space and time. Except The Divine Sisters, no one knows exactly where the Tree of Magic moves to. It has always and shall always remain a mystery.

The only sign that creatures use to acknowledge its presence is the sudden rise in their abilities unlike anything they have ever seen or felt before.

For both of them to find their way here and request an audience with me, the Tree of Magic must be nowhere far away. Probably, it must have moved to somewhere close by and they are here to lay a warning.

Cassius!

I just hope that he didn't get the memo too. As it stands, the supernatural world is already in a state of imbalance because of his actions. Tampering with the Tree of Magic would be the last thing we would want him to do. That alone can destroy the balance of both worlds and is capable of breaking nature herself.

Before the request came in, I was having dinner but this is far beyond human blood. I stood up from the chair and made my way to the throne room.

"Greetings! Your Majesty!" said both witches simultaneously with a bow.

"Greetings to you both too!" I said with a courtesy before sitting on my throne.

"I am Lora and she is Lara." "We are The Divine Sisters…"

"I am pretty aware of whom you ladies are and I am sure that you know who I am so I am going to cut this whole introduction thing and head to asking what brought the two most respected witches in all of time and space to my land and request an audience with me in my coven, in particular." "I am not pretty sure that it is not to say 'Hi' nor is it 'to borrow some sugar'." I said with crossed fingers.

"Frederick Claw is what you are called right? Well, your majesty, to go head on to what conjured us to your gates, YOU AND ALL WHO TAKE ROOT FROM THIS LAND ARE IN PERPETUAL DANGER. A DANGER THAT IF YOU DON'T GO PATIENT WITH OUR METHODS, WOULD COST YOU YOUR KINGDOM AND YOUR KIND!" said the first with stern eyes at me.

I guess I must have angered her by being too fast on the introduction and the first impression but can her words be the truth? Why would they come bringing a message warning me of death?

"My apologies if I, in any way crossed a line that I shouldn't have on the first impression. My name is King Frederick Claw and I warmly welcome you to my coven." I said with an apologetic smile.

"Thank you!" said the first.

"…but that doesn't change the fact that a being going by the name Thomas 'Cassius' Rein wishes to do the impossible, what no witch or warlock has ever thought of doing." the second said.

"Cassius Rein? Wait! What does he have to do with you two or the Tree of Magic?" I asked with a furrowed brow.

"Yes! Cassius Rein or Cassius the Titan, as he is fondly called by his victims. The once human whom you brought into this world that has now become the most dark tyrant in all of history. The man who makes you sit everyday regretting the past. He has everything to do with us and the Tree of Magic. Cassius wishes to set out to the human world." the first added with a sigh.

"Oh really? How does that constitute any form of danger to my throne, my kingdom or my kind? He can use whatever powers that he has immorally acquired to open up a portal and get there but he will lose all of his powers and abilities since the abilities that he possesses are far beyond the limits of nature." "… or is there something I don't know?"

"Not if he enacts The Baheem's Portal. There are several ingredients that a warlock can use to create a magical portal capable of doing just what Cassius intends to, one of which is sourced from the tree of magic." "Other ingredients, he can easily get his hands on but not the flower. With a vial ingredient such as a flower from the Tree of Magic, Cassius and anyone else in this world can make a doorway that will break any of the major laws of nature and probably, tear the balance of nature apart."

"It has never been done not to mention attempted because of the catastrophic consequences but Cassius being ignorant of all of them, wouldn't stop until he has the chosen one by the neck." The second sister said conjuring up different images relating to what she was talking about. "For starters, eternal punishment in the underworld."

"…that brings us to you, your throne, your kingdom and your kind. The Tree of Magic is here!" the second said rising from where she had been seated with a pointed finger fixed to the ground.

"…And Cassius is coming for it!"
