Chapter 29
Cassius Rein ~
"Keep your eyes peeled. The Tree of Magic should be right below this hill." I said coming out of the portal. "Oh no! Not them again! How could they have known that I was coming?" I exclaimed at the sight of the multitude of vampyres, witches, warlocks and so many other creatures that surrounded the perimeter of the tree with Frederick Claw, their king a few meters away from the tree's only flower.
"Change of plans! Now, the mission is to get to the tree of magic and get rid of the king, permanently!" I added turning to the alphas.
While these lycans deal with Frederick, I will have enough time to cast a spell that will allow me to take that flower of the tree without having to pay any damn price for it. If I don't, the trybrid child would be the least of my worries.
"As you wish!" the lycan alphas replied jointly with a bow.
"They may have the advantage of the Tree of Magic but you have one too." "ME." I said with a grin.
I conjured up enchanted swords for each of them that were capable of immobilizing any creature that it comes in contact with even with the slightest nib, and created enough portals for each lycan in such a way that the portals led to at least, the hearts of two vampyres at the same time. I commanded that they all strike their swords into their respective portals.
By so doing, I get rid of them without having to come down to a fight or any opposition when going to get the flower. The only thing that I have to worry about besides their stubborn king is the point in time when the tree would be moving again.
"I personally shall take care of Frederick Claw!" I said after having a change of heart. "Take care of the rest disturbances."
One after the other, the creatures that those swords had contact with became magically and physically immobilized. When about a hundred of the creatures had been immobilized, the reverse became the case.
Someone or something was meddling with the portals.
The lycans would pierce their swords in and it would come right through the same portal and stab them thereby immobilizing them. The first thought that I had was that the vampyres were the cause but realizing that they were capable of little or no magic, I waved the thought away and decided to do a scan on all those beneath the hill.
It was then that I realized that there were more than vampyres down there. Witches, warlocks, gargoyles and so many other creatures had come together to guard the tree. The witches alongside the warlocks must be the ones messing with my portals.
"Enough of this nonsense! Attack!!" I commanded and all the lycans who weren't immobilized went down the hill to attack the league of creatures.
I reversed the immobilization magic and those affected were free from it including as much as it irritates, the vampyres. They too joined in the exchange of blood.
"Time to take care of a pest." I said using supernatural speed to climb down the hill.
I used some of the various abilities that I had to clear a pavement off the creatures there towards the island in the midst of the waters of Nephtak that carried both Frederick and the tree itself.
"Move any closer and I promise you, I'll kill you sooner than I intend to!" I said to the stubborn king as he advanced towards me with a lycan slayer.
Frederick Claw ~
In time, we were able to find out where exactly, the Tree of Magic is. It is sited at a very miniature island in the middle of the waters of Lake Nephtak. At once, I commanded all the vampyres, witches, warlocks and every creature united under my ruler ship to come together and guard the tree.
The majority of creatures from all the cardinal points of this world came together through the help of portals created by the most powerful practitioners of magic I had surrounding the lake while I stood right on the little island where the tree was.
Standing so close to the tree makes my inner vampyre feels so powerful and strong. It was almost as if I could do anything with such strength. Basically, the whole lot that made me a vampyre was amplified to a very high status.
As soon as everyone was complete and in line, we waited for the arrival of the so called 'Lord Cassius'. Instead of an announcement or some sort of sign to acknowledge his arrival, all we got were portals that brought forth swords that somehow, could immobilize whosoever it comes in contact with.
That alone was all the notification that we needed to know that the ruthless human was here.
As a counter attack, the witches and the warlocks teamed up to reverse the portal using a couple of magic spells which they enchanted as they avoided them. Within a few minutes, I watched as the lycans rained down a hill heading straight for my army of supernatural creatures.
Amongst the lycans, a being with a great amount of speed came down the hill and carved its way through the army and was at the bank of the lake in less than ten seconds.
Cassius.
I don't know how but he was able to walk on the waters of the lake until he finally got to the little island where the tree was and I, standing bravely to defend it
"Thomas what are you doing? What have you done to yourself?" I asked walking up to the human I once knew with a lycan slayer in hand before this human turned into the Cassius of the present day.
He was a good friend of mine from the human world. I brought him into the supernatural world and then turned him into one of my kind, a vampire. I regret doing it so badly. I never once had the conception that one day I would see him with a form and reputation such as this. This alone makes me understand why nature made the two worlds separate from one another and different.
Thomas clearly reminded me that once again, humans are greedy, power hungry and selfish creatures.
"Move any closer Fredrick and I promise you I'll make your death more sooner than I intended." I heard him say with stern eyes. "I have no intentions of causing you pain at least not today so get out of my way or I'll change my mind. And for the record, Thomas Rein is no more. You killed that man when you turned me. What remains now is Cassius. I presume that you are aware so don't make that error again." Cassius said with a tone of power acknowledging the fact that I was higher than him in everything except from his powers which who knows where he got them all from.
"You should at least show me some respect, Thomas. I brought you here in accordance with your will just so you will have another shot at a better life. Wasn't that what you wanted? Weren't you the one that insisted that I do all that?" I asked planting my feet on the ground and with my eyes straight at him.
