Sheylia's P.O.V
We kept driving up and down streets and still haven't found him. Our eyes scanning every person we see. I can feel the fatigue finally hitting my body. My darting eyes tired from being up all night, I need some sleep.
I check the time, 12:38pm. We have been going at this for almost two hours and we still haven't found him. At this point I feel like giving up. I'm tired, nervous, scared, it's all too much.
I can feel my eyes starting to close slowly, finally letting me drift away from this cold world. I let out a long yawn as I shift in my seat, looking for a more comfortable position.
*DING*
"Ugghh..." I groan as I check my phone.
Mom🌻:
We found Lyde!!
My eyes shoot open.
"Will and the others found him!!" I suddenly yell, making everyone flinch.
My Angel 😇:
Where is he?!
Mom🌻:
He is at this park, I've never been here before
It's close to our school
My Angel😇:
I know where it is we will be there soon
"Where is he?" Mia asks, eager to know.
"He's at a park, I don't know its name though I have been there before and I know where it is," I say.
"Okay, tell me where to go," Heather says. I lead us down different streets, we pass our school and after a few more turns we arrived at the park.
"Here we are," I say. I spot Gregory's car and exit Heather's car. Mia sprints ahead and disappears into the park. Heather starts walking to the entrance that read Riverside Park, but I stay by the car and text Lara.

After a few minutes I see Lara running closer, I wave to her.
"Hey," she says once she arrived, clearly out of breath.
"Hi," I reply.
"So, why were we looking for him?" She asks.
"Well last night during the game night he assaulted me, I left the house and an old lady helped me and apparently Lyde went off as well, so we went to look for him so the police could arrest him," I say super fast. Lara looks at me dumbfounded.
"WHAT?!" She screams, "HE ASSAULTED YOU??!!"
I nod my head.
"Oh ho ho ho!! That motherfucker doesn't know what's coming!!" She says as she turns to the entrance.
"Wait!" I stop her by grabbing her wrist, "I'm scared.." I say quietly. I totally forgot the fact that once we found him I have to see him and hear him talk. Lara's eyes soften.
"Oh, right, I will walk with you then, sorry got kind of carried away there," she chuckles. I smile as we link arms. We finally enter the park, the same park I came to before I went to school that one day. Before, the park was beautiful, relaxing, now it was dark and draining. Not a lot of people were here but the ones that were here, I felt like they were all staring at me, as if they knew what happened. I felt small.
I tightened my arm around Lara's once we saw the others. Mia was walking around in circles, Gregory was just standing there, Will was crying into Brandon's chest, Josh was sitting with a straight face on and Heather was off to the side a bit.
Lyde? I don't know what he was doing because I didn't bother looking at him, no, more like I was too scared to look at him.
As we got closer Mia noticed us and stopped walking.
"What took you so long?" She asks, making everyone look at us, well me. I notice Lara giving Mia a face which made her make an o with her mouth.
Lara unhooks her arm from mine and makes her way to her brother. My support now gone, I decide to hold my own hand to support myself. Everyone's attention is on Lara and Lyde now.
"What were you thinking??!!" Lara yells into Lyde's face. I finally look at Lyde who has a deadpanned expression on his face.
"Hellooo, answer me!!" Tears now flowing from Lara's eyes. "She is your cousin...how could you hurt her!!" She says, screaming the last part.
I just stood there. Doing nothing. But what was I supposed to do. I hurt everyone around me by running away and telling them what happened. If I never told anyone no one would've got hurt. They would all still be happy. I'm a burden to everyone. If I didn't run Heather wouldn't of had to put a hold on her day plans just to look after me. If I didn't run my friends wouldn't of had to stress over me and where I was. If I didn't say anything no one would be upset.
Except me.
But that's fine as long as the people around me aren't hurt.
"So you're just going to stay silent?" Lara asks. No response.
I build up the strength and courage and walk a bit closer to Lyde. My body now shaking.
"Why did you do it..." I ask, trying to hide the fear in my voice. He looks up and smirks at me. The smirk taking me back to that night, but I stop my mind from doing so. I want an answer.
"Why did you do it?" My voice now filled with confidence. He seemed to have noticed because his grin got wider. He just sat there grinning at me. Suddenly Josh got up and swung his fist at Lyde's face, hitting him unexpectedly, making him double back in his seat.
"She asked you a question!" Josh says sternly. His eyes filled with pure anger.
"I..I did it because I love you and I have wanted you for so long," he finally says, giving me an answer.
I love you
A flashback of those words just before he left the bathroom sneaks into my mind.
"If you love someone you don't go and assault them!!" Will yells. Lyde locks his eyes with mine.
"I love everything about you, your hair, your big brown eyes, your pink lips that I finally got to kiss, your sweet voice, and your beautiful body, every curve, edge, hair, I love it," he says while staring at me.
I was taken back. When I was hating my body he was loving it.
"That's still wrong, I'm your cousin!" I finally let out.
"Not by blood," he says.
I groan,
"Shut up with that not by blood bullshit! You assaulted me! It doesn't matter if I'm your cousin by blood or not, you hurt me!" I yell. I wipe my tears away and take a step back.
Mia takes this opportunity to call the police.
A sit on the grass and intertwine my fingers together.
Heather comes over and sits down next to me.
"How are you feeling?" She quietly asks.
"I don't know.." I whisper.
"That's fine dear," Heather sighs. "I really wasn't expecting this to happen, it was the most interesting and sad thing that's happened to me since a while, you're going to be alright."
A few moments later the police arrived, Lyde never tried to run. He must've just accepted the fact that he's going to jail.
As the police walk Lyde out of the park, Lyde turns his head towards me and says,
"I don't regret what I did."
And with that he disappeared into the parking lot.
