"Hi!" She gasps.
"I'm so sorry, I just.... It's my first time here and, I just can't help but feel excited."
"Are you okay?" Raven asks.
"Yes . Yes I am." She collects the books from him.
Do you mind, I help you with those. Raven said referring to the books.
"Um... I'm off to Mr Garry's office to complete my enrollment." She said.
Raven stares at her, he does know that she needed help but she wasn't ready to accept help either.
"I am Raven." He said giving her his hands.
"Raven?!" She tilts her head.
"Raven... Eastman." Raven said with the word Eastman sounding awkward from him.
"I'm Kara Haley." She received his hand.
"Kara Haley, it's nice meeting you." He said.
"Next!" Garry's voice sounds from his office.
"Nice meeting you to, Raven....." She said.
"Eastman." He added.
"Yeah Raven Eastman."
"Do we get to meet again?" Raven asks.
Laura felt awkward.
"Umm... I don't know about that."
"Next.....! Kara Haley?!" Garry's voice sounds from his office again this time sounding temperamental.
"I gotta go." She said.
She turns to leave but Raven held her back.
"Promise!" He inquires.
"I don't make promises I can't keep." Laura said calmly.
Raven grins, then let's her go. He knew how she felt he knew he had an effect on her, she had never felt like that before so weak and vulnerable with a man, and he was quite sure she would do anything she can to make sure they don't meet again.
His grin widen as he stare at her entering Garry's office.
"Hello." Ashley said waving her hand in front of Raven.
"What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be in class?" Raven ask.
"Um, I waited for you." Ashley said.
"So?!"
"You should be happy I did. Do you even know where your class is?" She said.
"I will find it myself." He said feeling disturbed by Ashley after disrupting his thoughts.
"And if you get lost?"
"I don't get lost." He snaps.
Ashley pouts. "Ok, can I help you with your bag."
"I can carry my own weight." Raven snaps.
"What's wrong, did I do anything wrong?" Ashley asks feeling concerned.
Raven realizes how mean he was being to Ashley now, and it was unlike him. It wasn't fair either.
He smirks.
"Nothing, you did nothing wrong." He said.
"Say anything wrong?" She inquires.
"No, not at all." Raven said.
"Ok....!" Ashley said unsure.
"Ok, take this." He gave her his bag.
Her face brightens up.
"Now do you mind taking me to the classroom." He said.
"No, I don't." She held his hand as she leads the way.
Few minutes later they arrived at the classroom filled with students of both sex, discussing and throwing stuffs around.
Raven and Ashley enters and the class went dead silent as if he was a teacher.
Although it went quite for Ashley but not for Raven since he could hear the thoughts of everyone.
Ashley clears her throat. "Um... Everyone this is Raven Eastman, Raven this is__"
"You don't need to mention, I know already." Raven said calmly.
His voice alarmed everyone, it was so deep yet melodious.
I think I will get going now. Ashley said feeling nervous from everyone's stares.
Raven went to a free sit and sat down, everyone still gazing at him Raven could bet that most of them weren't breathing at that moment.
He takes a book George had given to him earlier, he tries to concentrate but their thoughts and gaze were overwhelming.
"Hey Raven." Tyler calls to him.
"Hi Tyler." Have you seen George.
"He's in the lab with Mr Alsin." Tyler said.
"Here isn't his class though. But I got you buddy." Tyler assures.
Raven stares at him, he saw sincerity in Tyler's eyes.
Tyler smirks, he tap his hand gently on Raven's shoulder and left him alone.
Shortly Mr Stanley their calculus lecturer enters, without much delay he started lecturing them.
Raven finds it difficult to concentrate with the thoughts of other students forcing themselves into his head. Some were fantasizing about him, thinking of how they would start up a conversation with him while the others tries to comprehend Mr Stanley lectures by doing some calculations in their head. He felt his head throbs with pains, then he remembers that he had took away the pains Laura felt earlier, he wonders what caused her to feel such pains and trauma. Then again he saw hell, the ocean and....and Lucifer. Does Lucifer had anything to do with what Laura felt. He thought, the other students thought continues to disrupt his thinking causing him more pains. Can't they just shut up, He thought. Now for a moment he wished everyone's mind could be as blank as Laura's.
Suddenly he could hear just one thought, this thought stands out from the others. The thoughts of others slowly dies out as he could hear just one person's thought.
He recognized that voice, it is the voice of the girl he meant earlier. She was nervous about entering the classroom and also making new friends.
The door opens revealing Mr Garry, who enters the classroom. Kara follows nervously trying mischievously to hid herself behind his huge dark-blue suit coat.
"Come on Kara, don't just stand there. Come out so they can see you." Garry blurted out.
Kara pulls herself reluctantly. The first person she saw was Raven who was staring at her intensively, her breath cuts on seeing him. She couldn't breath.
Raven stares at Kara this time he had more time to examine her closely, he could feel her nervousness, he could hear her curse herself inwardly, she had stopped breathing he wondered why but she wasn't breathing and it worried him.
"When is she going to stop?" He thought.
Kara gasps then shifts her gaze away from Raven.
"Class, you have a new student. Kara Haley, she recently moved to New York to further her studies here, so I want you guys to be good to her." Garry said.
Everyone stares at Kara.
"Kara Haley!" A student exclaimed.
"The daughter of General Haley." Another added.
"Um... Yes." Garry said confused.
Kara nervousness increases.
"Kara, you can sit there." Garry pointed at a sit in front of Raven.
Kara felt her heart drop to her stomach. No, not in front of him. She thought.
She felt like saying no, but it was the only free sit left and it would be awkward to say no, because maybe no one would agree for an exchange either.
Raven heard her thoughts very clear as it was the only thought he could hear at that moment. He wonders why Kara doesn't want to sit with him, was anything wrong with him? He does a quick check on himself but nothing was wrong at all, then his mind drifts to his hair, did Laura cut his hair so bad? For a moment he felt like regretting why he told Laura to cut his hair. He really felt awkward in school and he wasn't sure he wanted to continue with the awkwardness and other students thought invading his mind.
Kara strolls reluctantly to the sit and sat down, she could feel the stares of other students on her, and they felt like tiny needles on her skin. And her instincts, something about her instincts wanted her to make a good impression on Raven.
No, she didn't want to feel that way, why would she care? She searchs for her pen in her bag but doesn't seem to find it. She hated herself at that moment.
Raven grins from behind.
"Here, have this." He gave Kara his pen.
Kara was confuse, she didn't want to have anything to do with him or maybe any male in the school. But especially him.
She felt reluctant to collect the pen, but the stares on the students face she knew they wanted her to collect the pen.
"What,...what about you?" She manage to say.
"I have another." Raven brought another pen of pure silver, it glitters so much and Kara was sure she haven't seen anything like it.
"That would be so expensive." She thought.
"Of course it will, considering the fact that it's the only of it's kind on Earth." Raven said.
Kara gasps heavily.
Did I say that loud, or..... whatever it was Kara doesn't care to find out at all, or rather the way she forced herself to feel.
"Will you take it now?" Raven said pleadingly.
Kara glares at him, then took the pen reluctantly.
"There you go, you see it doesn't hurt at all." Raven blurted feeling achieved.
Thanks! Kara managed to say.

Few minutes later Raven is seen outside the school building for his lunch break, he is having a though time getting along with his first day at school.
All the students seem to like him and they tried to seek his attention. Girls are seen chatting and giggling some staring at him. He wasn't curious about what they were saying because he heard each and everyone of them thanks to his super hearing abilities and his telepathy.
Some group of students once took a pic of him but he didn't mind, what attracted his attention was the way they stared at him when looking at the pic. He could see confusion in their eyes but he didn't care either.
Where is Laura. He thought.
A strange wind blew across him followed by the screech of an eagle. He stared at it, something about the eagle seem so familiar but he couldn't remember what it was.
Then suddenly quietness engulf him, he didn't hear anyone's voice or thoughts.
Weird. He mutters to himself.
"Hi Raven." A female voice from behind.
He turns around."Kara, were have you been?"
"Have you been looking for me?" She ask.
Raven stares at her, then grins. He could see that she had mustered as much courage as she could just to speak with him. At the same time he felt pleased by it and also wanting her to talk to him freely.
"Uhm.... Maybe." He smirks.
Kara felt the need to be angry with him, but her emotions didn't yield. Instead she felt tickled by his smiles which showed his perfectly white teeth.
"Here, have your pen." She hands Raven's pen to him.
"No, you can have it." Raven insist.
"Just take it." She gasps.
"Have you found yours?"
"No, I purchased another." She snaps.
"Then you can keep it, I have no use for it now." Raven said.
Kara made up her mind that since her body won't yield to be angry with him, she had to imposed it on herself.
"I don't want it." She fum anger.
This does nothing but amused Raven, he could see that she was struggling, being with him wasn't easy for her at all. He kind if enjoyed her company since whenever she's around, everything seems to go quite and easy to bear. He finds himself wanting to be with her, though it wasn't easy since she wasn't comfortable being around him.
"I still insist." He simply said.
What was wrong with him, she thought. He wasn't making things any easier for her.
"Why." She asked confuse.
"Um. God doesn't takes back his gift from man, why should angels do otherwise" Raven snaps.
Kara was taken aback by his words, she wasn't an atheist but what does Raven mean? He sounds like a weirdo.
What I am saying is since God doesn't takes back his gifts from from any of his creatures, why should I. Raven said as if preaching a sermon.
Kara scoffs.
"You are calling a pen a gift." She said.
"Anything can be, even the words of one's mouth." Raven snaps.
"Then, I can throw it away then." She said.
"It's now yours, and you can do whatever you wish with it."
Kara glares at him, she was already feeling too comfortable with the way she felt, she was yielding to her emotions and body.
"I think I should get going. I've got things to do." She excuses.
"Do you have to?" Raven said almost pleadingly.
Something about his voice melts her, made her stomach churn, and draws her back. But she didn't like it.
"We could hang out sometime." She promised.
Did she just said that, the man she swore to try by all means to avoid she was promising him that they could hang out. Her body and mind was really betraying her. She wondered what part of her still didn't want to be with him, she decides to leave before doing anything stupid.
Raven grins as he watch her leaves without looking back, as usual her absence brought back the usual torment of hearing people's thought and words.
