A few days passed and soon it was getting close for Fifth Avenue Square and Cassie to leave the UK to do the US press tour. It was the night before the long flight to New York and Nathan, his band mates, and Cassie were over at The Smouldering Hog enjoying a nice evening with Nathan's family. Nathan and the boys thought it would be a good idea to spend the night at The Smouldering Hog. It was also the perfect opportunity for Nathan, Paul, Calvin, Landon and Cassie to suggest to have both Annie and Tom go on the press tour with them.
"Do you really think this is a good idea to bring us along?" Tom asked.
"What; you and Annie don't appreciate the offer?" Paul remarked.
"No, not at all. We're just surprised." Annie admitted.
"Surprised?" Cassie asked.
"Usually we don't invite Nathan's family with us on any tour because Scott wants us to get used to the catering company that we'll be using on tour." Landon explained.
"But now that Nathan's uncle is currently an option for being our caterers for this upcoming stadium tour Scott thinks it would be a good idea to have both Annie and Tom on the US press tour with us so they could get used to our tour schedule." Calvin added.
"Look; the lads and I along with Cassie and Garrett think that it's a good idea to bring someone from my family to at least help keep an eye on me while the press tour is happening in the US. You guys were a really big help the last time I got into trouble and I guess what I'm trying to say is-." Nathan started.
"You want us to make sure you don't look like a total idiot if there is a slight chance you guys might run into her." Annie interrupted.
"If there is a possible chance, and I highly doubt that this will ever happen; of Roxie and I reconnecting, I'd rather be at least somewhat decent around her. If there is anyone I wouldn't want to embarrass it's Roxie," Nathan sighed. "And I know its not the most ideal reason why you and Tom should go with us on the press tour, but if there is one thing that I've learned from this is that family is the best kind of medicine to get you through a heartbreak." he added.
"Well, then in that case; you can count on us to be there. Besides; it'll be nice for Annie and I to see the world for a bit." Tom said.
"Annie; you've been awfully quiet throughout this discussion. What do you think about Nathan's suggestion?" Cassie asked her.
"To be honest; at first I thought the whole idea of Tom and I going with you guys on the press tour to get some experience on what its like to work alongside you boys while on tour was ideal. But as time went on, I soon realized that there may be a slight chance of us running into Roxie and to see first hand how Nathan felt throughout this challenging time being away from the one great thing in his life really scared me. It almost made me change my mind about going. I don't want to see my cousin get heartbroken again, but after hearing what Nathan said about how our family helped him survive this outcome made me realize that Nathan could handle himself if he ever reconnects with Roxie." Annie stated.
"Then that does it; both Annie and Tom are coming with us on the US press tour." Garrett restated. As the night went on the group discussed a primitive schedule for the next day at the airport. Pretty soon everyone was getting insanely tired and sleep deprived and headed off to bed.
Early the next morning, Cassie was in the pub's kitchen making herself a cup of hot coffee before leaving to the airport. It had been rough night for Cassie the night before and the only way to wake Cassie up was anything with caffeine. So it was no surprise to Paul, Calvin and Landon seeing Cassie all by herself in the kitchen.
"I take it you didn't get enough sleep last night." Paul guessed.
"Is it that obvious?" Cassie said sarcastically.
"Depends on the light. Since the 3 of us are down here; do you have any leftover coffee?" Calvin asked.
"There's a fresh pot on the stove and I suggest you boys get a nice hot cup now before everybody else wakes up." Cassie stated. So Paul, Calvin and Landon quickly served themselves coffee while Cassie stared out the kitchen window.
"Seems like it was only yesterday; we were here at the pub setting up for your arrival to the UK." Landon recalled.
"Tell me about it; us 3 along with Annie, Tom and Roxie were busy decorating the pub's lounge area while Nathan had possibly the best job that day," Paul chuckled. "You feeling ok?" he asked Cassie.
"Huh; oh, yeah I was just contemplating about the possibility of running into Roxie while we're in New York." Cassie sighed.
"Hey; everything is going to be fine. Knowing Roxie, she'll be overjoyed to see all of us. There's no way Roxie's not going to want to talk to any one of us once she sees us." Calvin said.
"Calvin's got a good point. We've all developed a great relationship with Roxie while she was staying with us in the UK. She'll probably be more excited to see all of us more than nervous." Paul pointed out.
"Yeah, but still I've got this strange feeling, in fact I've had it for a while now; that someone isn't telling us the whole truth about what might happen when we get to New York." Cassie admitted.
"What do you mean? I thought the initial plan Scott had for the 5 of us was pretty clear. Once we arrive at JFK; we head over to the hotel to rest for tomorrow's morning show performance." Landon stated.
"Not that; I'm talking about what you boys know about Roxie," Cassie remarked. Paul, Landon and Calvin then looked at each other and waited for Cassie to continue talking. "You guys know that when Annie took her trip to New York, there was a slight chance that she saw Roxie. What you guys don't know is that Roxie was with someone and that person wasn't Nathan." she added.
When Paul, Landon and Calvin had heard this; they were completely stunned. After everything Nathan and Roxie had been through, this happens and what made it even worse not one person had mentioned anything about Annie's discovery to Paul, Landon or Calvin. It was understandable why Annie didn't want to say anything at first; especially around Nathan. But with the press tour coming up; it became obvious to Paul and the other boys that Annie was hiding some information about Roxie.
"Who else knows about this?" Calvin asked Cassie.
"So far; me, Annie, Lexie, Scott, Auntie Lizzie, Uncle Hank and Garrett know about this. Annie thought it would be best to keep this news about Roxie a secret from you boys until the US press tour started. When I heard this news the first time; I thought it was irresponsible let alone ridiculous of Annie to keep this kind of information away from you boys, but after seeing what Nathan has been going through without Roxie in the past 6 months; it started to make sense of where she was coming from." Cassie explained.
"Hold on; who did Annie think Roxie was with? From what we 3 know; Nathan was the only guy that Roxie had feelings for while she was staying here with us." Landon asked.
"Landon has a good point. Nathan was the ONLY one out of the four of us that Roxie supposedly dated for 2 months." Paul replied.
"Actually; that's not entirely true." Calvin admitted to the others.
"Wait; are you saying that Roxie was supposedly 'cheating' on Nathan while she was living with us?!" Paul gasped.
"Not exactly. I remember having this one conversation with Roxie while we were cleaning up after the water war she told me that Nathan vaguely reminded her of someone familiar. It didn't bother me back then, but now that you have told us this news it makes me wonder if this person really did exist." Calvin explained.
"Oh, my gosh; how could I have been so stupid!?" Cassie shrieked.
"Are we missing something?" Landon asked.
"No, sorry it's just Calvin reminded me of something, in reality someone; that Roxie has become very close with before she even considered on making not only a trip over to London but also while she was writing her stories." Cassie pointed out.
"Meaning?"
"While Roxie was with you boys; has she ever mentioned the name Fifth Avenue Boy?" Cassie asked them. It was there in that moment that Paul, Calvin and Landon knew that if Nathan was planning on reconnecting and getting back together with Roxie; it was going to be even more challenging than the first time.
