Elijah and Kira met during their high school years. It was love at first sight. They immediately felt a deep connection between each other. They started dating against all odds. They got the infamous title, High School Sweethearts. They went to the same college and graduated together. Elijah and Kira got engaged the very next day they graduated. Both of the families were against them getting married so young, but they didn't care about that. They eloped and got married in a church in Las Vegas. Except for Elijah's sister, Farah, she cared a lot about her big brother. She supported whatever he did, and in fact, she became the witness for their marriage. Elijah and Kira happily started their lives.
They found an apartment right there in Vegas that fit their budget. They also found decent jobs very soon. Everything was going well according to their plan. Elijah loved the married life, waking up next to the person he loves. Talking about their future together, he loved every bit of it. So did Kira, but sometimes she had counter opinions compared to Elijah. She never talked about it or disagreed with him, she always kept her opinions to herself. But just like any marriage, they started having troubles. It started from minor problems to major ones.
As the years went by, the bickering increased. It suddenly felt like they were fighting for every little thing. It soon felt like a fish market, noises here and there. One day, Kira forgot to buy milk, and they fought about that. After a while, they just couldn't handle each other. They started getting on each other's nerves. There were numerous amounts of times where they discussed getting a divorce but Elijah never gave in, as he didn't want the marriage to be a failure. Moreover, he didn't want to be a failure to his family. He wanted to prove to his family that the choice he made was the right one. That choosing Kira over them was the right choice. Kira did not like this. She just couldn't live like this anymore. She was suffering every single day, she just wants to be free from this pain. Kira has faced many difficulties in her life, but this one was the biggest of them all. All the love and affection she had for Elijah disappeared the day she developed a hatred for him. Their high school memories vanished. She has tried every single way to persuade him, but he just won't budge. After a while she just gave up, hoping that one day he will come to his senses. She lived in pain waiting for the day she will be relieved of it.
Elijah came home from work one night, he was already stressed from work. As soon as he entered, Kira picked a fight with him. She doesn't even give him time to process, and he gets frustrated. "SHUT UP!" he screams. He takes off his shoe and slams it on the door. The force makes a visible dent on the door. His behavior startled Kira, he has never been this physical. Kira watches Elijah as he rages and breaks everything in his sight. He takes the vase from the nightstand and slams it on the wall. The glass shatters into a million pieces. Suddenly he stops and turns around. He stares at Kira, who is still in shock of what she just witnessed. He paces towards her and puts his hand on her neck. He rams her into a wall. She hits her head and slowly slides down the wall. The force causes her to have a concussion and she faints on the spot. That was when Elijah snaps out of his rage. He realizes what he has done when he sees Kira on the floor, unconscious. His heart skips a beat and his mind goes blank for a minute. He runs to the kitchen and grabs a glass of water. He runs towards Kira and kneels down. He pours some water on his hands and sprays it on her face to wake her up. "Kira... Kira... Kira, please wake up. I am so sorry, please wake up" he pleads. Slowly she opens her eyes and sees him. The only thing she could hear was "You are right, I will give it. If you want it so much, I will do it. I will give divorce." With that Kira wears a grin on her face as she tries to readjust her eyes on Elijah.
