~ "No, I don't mind," Cory replied looking partly at me. "She could probably use some time outside. Then I can get back to my work."
I honestly didn't expect him to say that! A walk outside could play to my benefit, I told myself. Since I have no desire to make this my home. Maybe this could be my chance to assess the property better. I inwardly thought as I hide my scheming smile.
Especially, whenever Cory steered his eyes my way but I had no idea what he was saying through his eyes. His expressions were blank with me. Even his mouth went flat from flexing a smile with his mother. He stood up broadly and took his leave not saying a word.
Amelia took my hand and led me outside through the glass doors. Once outside I saw children swimming in the pool. A good deal of kids are going down the camouflaged waterslide blended in with the paradise scenery. It's decorated with beautiful natural-looking rocks and plants. It looked like a real natural spring beach, with the added waterfalls and fountains in the huge pool.
There are carved-out lounge chairs inside the front of the pool colored in sandy paint. More seats were carved into the rocks and I noticed a cave inside the rocks from behind the waterfall. Older teenage girls are hanging out in that area.
Just near the pool across from the doors. Amelia took me to six ladies laying out in the sun on these lounge chairs. Where she was sitting before Cory went out and got her. The ladies looked at me with smiling faces. They looked so beautiful and dressed in sundresses too.
The ladies have dark brown long hair and gently looking youthful faces that were lovely. I could tell the one lady was much older than Amelia and the other four ladies.
Brightly smiling, Amelia said, "Sally these five ladies here are Cory's Aunts. They married Çory's blood-related Uncles, who are my husband's blood-related brothers." She added looking at the lady near the end, "This wonderful lady right in front of me is Cory's Grandmother named Fiona (Wife of Grandfather Phil). She is the mother of Çory's Dad and Uncles. She was our Primary Queen before Cory took reign."
Grandmother Fiona got out of her seat and walked over my way. She placed her hands gently on my face saying in such a sweet soft voice. "Oh, my dear Sally. I am so happy to see you have returned home to us."
This lovely lady didn't stall and hugged me tightly. But I wasn't sure how to take this in. They seemed to know me but I didn't know them. I pushed the thought aside to think Cory was maybe telling me the truth. About this Kingdom being my birthplace. As the loving woman slowly released me.
From seeing the uncertainty on Sally's face. "I was just going to take Sally here for a walk around the property." Amelia pleasantly said.
"That sounds like a splendid idea!" Fiona replied smiling, "The land is quite breathtaking around here."
"Are you ready my dear?" Amelia asked me.
I nodded and began following Cory's mother to take a walk around the property. Everything was decorated with beautiful statues of soldiers and craved fountains. At the base of each fountain was a story of their history of the wars they had encountered. I was amazed by it as Amelia walked me through telling me some stories. And said they made the fountains to honor those winning battles. Most of the statues were made to honor the fallen warriors that never returned home.
Amelia said most of those fallen warriors were immortal but their bodies were never found after the battle. For them to be revived out of the lifeless state. I had a lot of heart for Cory's mother. She held her painful tears for her husband's fallen Highest Ranker men.
I could tell this magnificent lady has endured so much pain. Even for them being her husband's men, she talked about them as if they were family. I got the idea this Kingdom was held together, more like a family. Rather than just working for Cory and his Royal family.
Then we went on having a casual conversation. Only what Amelia didn't realize while we walked. I was glancing around the area to figure out the easiest escape route.
We walked around for quite a few hours. Amelia almost showed me everything outside the mansion. She took me to a special area to her and said smiling. "This special patio is where I used to bring you outside."
