Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Terrified but still feisty

~ I was completely speechless by looking into his dark narrowing gaze. I held my breath while the fear of him quivered the bones throughout my body. To be held captured by a hybrid-man such as him was most terrifying.

His darkening eyes rattled me to the core with fright. For I knew nothing of my given fate to lay in the mercy of his hands. Which I had long learned Kingdom men never had any care to give mercy. The worst part about Cory is, he was one of the worst known Kingdom men, from him being a Primary King.

I tried to wiggle my face and body free from his held hands but he wasn't having that. His scary eyes were murky but I did my best to be strong.

"Y-you can't keep me here." I whispered challenging him, "I-I won't stay and w-will get away from y-you."

He didn't like hearing this... Despite his warning, I still showed my persistence to wanna run away.

"Haven't I warned you about running!" He bellowed with his wrath. "Did you not just hear my words or did I whisper to softly!"

His voice deepen when he hissed in my face while I flinched my eyes jumping. The way his eyes narrowed at me, as he blackout in a raw glaze. Made me jerk in a panic from him but he still kept me held trapped in his grasp. This time, I didn't dare to answer and mentally prepared myself for the worst.

Until... He backed off, letting me go, and turned around, as I watched him open his walk-in closet. After hearing some brief shuffling he came back out with clothes in his hands. Just as he was going to walk into the bathroom.

He made me feel dumbfounded by his actions to not punish me. Along with anger as to why he is so adamant to keep me forever captured by him.

"I-I don't understand! Why do you want me so badly? W-Why do I feel like you are hiding more from me about my development? Y-You said it yourself hybrid-women don't have these certain traits!" I spat out trying my best not to stutter.

But when I snapped he turned his head, showing his glazed icy eyes. "Go get ready for bed!" He barked refusing to answer my questions. "The sun is setting so you and I are turning in for the night!" Afterward, he shut the bathroom door lightly from behind him.

He left me speechless by his dominance over me. I was pretty thrown off by him. I mean he truly has to be like this? He can't even answer a few simple questions!

I took a sat on the front left corner of the bed, now mulling to myself. Perhaps if I knew what he wanted, I would calm down and settle for this as my new home. But then who am I kicking here... Myself? The fact he threatens to chase me down if I try to elude him is terrifying to me. It's like I've become his new pet!

Then between his coldness and charm. I can't tell if he truly does care about me or anything for that matter. I can't trust his frightening cold mood swings.

I felt so confused by him. Despite his bossy exigent demand to get ready for the dark phase. I gave my intransigence to show no yield to his assertive dominance. If I pulled this on my old masters. Surely I would have been punished. But since Cory hasn't done anything detrimental. I took it upon myself to test his waters. Regardless of the fact, I am afraid of him. I've always had a feisty side.

So I decided to watch the sun phase slowly leave. As this dark sky came stretching over it. It didn't take long before I felt my body temperature starting to drop drastically. Yet, I still didn't care to change into something warmer for bed.

Cory came out of the bathroom from his shower as his good-smelling cologne captured my scent. Unlike with my other masters, I strangely found myself attracted to him in this addicting way. But I pushed the fact that he smelled so delicious away from my perception. As I found my eyes veering to him.

He was now wearing a pair of black long shorts, that passed his knees, with a long sleeve black shirt. As I eyed his built body from underneath his clothes. Mistakenly, our eyes meet as he cocked his head slightly looking at my clothes. Still not even ready for bed. Certainly, he understood I didn't care to listen.

I steered my eyes back to the baloney glass doors and ignored his presence. "Do I need to undress you myself to get you ready for bed?" He asked with amusement.

My eyes snarled back to him. I give him the glaring warning to say. I'll attempt to kill him if he dared tried to touch me. Yet, he chuckles out fairly loud and isn't threatened by me. Which yes if he tried anything funny, I would lose. Like I always did with my masters but it didn't stop me from putting up a fight.

"It's going to get cold for you so do what I asked." He said in such care and had this gracious charm about his faint smile.

This time without arguing I got off the bed and grabbed some clothes to sleep in from inside my closet. As Cory opened up his laptop and started to work from on his right side of the bed, lined up with the hallway. When I was heading into the bathroom before I closed the door. I decided to speak my mind about the bathroom.

In a sarcastic yet irritated tone. "Could you not get a lock on this door?" I asked sorta snapping, "You have a lock for the balcony but not for the bathroom!"

Cory looked up at me and laughed, "No. There isn't gotta be a lock on the bathroom door because it's safer without one. If it's closed, I know you're in there. But if the door is open, while you're in there showering because you didn't bother to close it. That's kinda on you, not me."

I rolled my eyes to catch his mocking grin on his last comment. "How is it safer?" I asked huffing annoyed.

Cory replied looking at his laptop. "In case there is a fire during an attack. It makes it easier for my men to get everyone out. Without the interference of there being locks on the doors. It's mostly for the little ones. Since babies and toddlers aren't known to develop their immortal genes until older. That's why there isn't a lock on it."

Now with a better understanding, I asked confused, "Then why have locks on the balcony?"

In a smart mouth tone. "So you don't climb down it like a scorpion-spider-monkey again." Cory mockingly said grinning, as he glanced back up at me for a second.

That statement made me so mad! That I huffed myself into the bathroom and closed the door from behind me to change.
