Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: Scolding

Sally took some steps back in fear of me.

As I nodded at Jay to take his leave. So he walked out of my room. For a second, I stood there scolding her with my alerting expressions. For a brief moment, I gave this most intimidating straight lip. Knowing full well, I am making her uncomfortable.

Surely I knew she was feeling this heated pressure at the back of her skull. I saw some mild nervous sweat at the root line of her scalp. But still, I kept my icy eyes on her. She needs to learn. Do not cross this line with me. It's time she must learn to submit and understand there is no escaping me.

I took a few steps forward to her. "What do you think you are doing?" I asked in a cold sharp pitch.

But she only appeared to be dumbfounded and didn't answer. Which of course she didn't answer. She very well knew she'd been caught trying to flee. Despite my fair warning she still tried to escape me.

Regardless of the fact, I was slightly irritated at her. I somewhat soften my scolding face. It's as I said to myself, I don't want her to be petrified of me. I need her to understand this is her home. So I exhaled some trying to ease my edgy mood.

If another woman pulled this I would have sent her to the coldbox. But with Sally it was different, I didn't wanna physically punisher her. She's been through too much as it was from her old abusive Masters. Mike and Matt are right physical punishment or fear aren't going to get through to her. Plus thanks to this bond connection setting, I couldn't stomach to punish her.

"Do you not know how dangerous it is in the woods?" I firmly asked. "Not only are there scavengers but there are also creatures out there! Then with it being a night phase, you would have suffered the cold on top of it! You're from the city! This type of area you are in now is way different compared to the city. There are more dangerous things out here between monstrous beasts and hybrid-man! Being an unprotected woman you will be swallowed up out there. You have no chance out there with me! Have I not told you and warned you about trying to escape?" I said still pretty agitated but I tried to speak more calmly, but it came out more snappy from what I planned.

As I watched her innocent eyes tilt down to the floor. She feared me enough to not wanna glance at me. So I walked up towards her. Close enough to gently cup her face with both my hands and bring her eyes up to look at me. Her body shook as her breath warmed my face when I inched slightly closer. For a brief moment, fear trembled through her eyes. Until I saw her terrified state fade into blankness.

I knew now she was detaching from her emotions to get ready for punishment. The strong control she has hidden beneath herself is remarkable to see. To see such a broken beautiful hybrid-woman still have so much fight in her. She was running on an internal survival instinct. She's never known any kindness or had anyone care enough for her well-being. So of course this emotional control would come easy for her from being the Grand Duchess.

"I'm trying to keep you safe from what is out there," I whispered and released her face from my light grasp and went to walk away.

"I wasn't trying to leave." She said seeming confused.

Yet, I snapped my eyes back to her and said, "Maybe not tonight but after the night phase?"

Again she remained quiet. "Don't think for one second that you can fool me or my men for that matter! I very well know of your plan with trying to plan out your escape route. I know you want to leave and I understand you're confused. I even know you have doubts about believing the story everyone is telling you but I can assure you it's the truth. Deal with it however you want but realize you are never going to escape me!" I assertively told her.

"B-But I-I" She tries speaking.

I turned back to her closely stopping her mid-sentence. I didn't wanna hear any more of her excuses. The bottom line was, she was caught and I knew what she was scheming. Her mouth partly opened as I toughed her soft face again, by one hand. I hooked my thumb on her jawline and four fingertips across her cheek. Only inches away from her ear. Then with my other hand, I locked my hold around her waist so she couldn't break free. I heard her heart racing as she quivered.

"I will always hunt you down and find you every time. "I said in a more haunting-like whisper. "No, matter where you go."
