The school is oddly quiet when we pull into the parking lot, Tony is sitting outside on the bench though, probably waiting for us, well I hope he was waiting for us. Toby opens my door for me, from the outside, which I truly appreciate, mostly because my tiny hands couldn't handle pushing the car door open, especially not in this weather.
I clutch my bag and phone in my hand, walking out while Toby still has the car door open for me, "Why don't you get a new phone case? There's literally hundreds more things you could do with your creative mind than just clear phone case" he says, staring down at my phone, I roll my eyes a little before saying, "I like clear phone cases, and I for one think I'm such a bad bitch that I need to add a little basic sometimes, just so y'all don't get seizures" he laughs at my little joke, which I must say, is a relief to me, Tony looks over at us, with a thinly veiled smile on his face, like he's happy seeing us on good terms, which to me means a lot.
We walk over to the bench, Toby holding my bag and me wearing hit Atlas Lions cap, which I personally think is cute. "Hey" Toby says, sitting next to Tony, they exchange pleasantries and even, in a weird 'bro code' way, apologize to each other, and I'm glad they do, because I couldn't have taken one more day with these two on bad terms.
"I'll go check out where Adelaide, Tokyo, Heather and Delilah are, I'll see y'all in class ok." I say, taking my bag from Toby, Tony gives me a light kiss on the cheek before I leave, and here we go again, the nightmare that is the public school system in America.
It's not hard to find my friends, they're pretty much everywhere honestly, I recognize them almost as instantly as they do me. "Hey sis, are you ready for that presentation we have to do today??" Delilah says, with a rolled up paper in her hand, "What presentation??" I ask, genuinely confused, this is news to me, I hope I'm not behind on anything big.
"The presentation on mysoginistic ideologies, your part was to talk about how it plays into rape and sexual assault and how these cases are handled" She responds, and although I did no research on this, I think I know a thing or two about a thing or two.
