I pushed him on the sofa before he could even fall again. I removed his shoes and socks. I also removed his tie and loosened up three buttons of his shirt.
He was completely beaten up. He couldn't even look at me straight.
"What happened? Why did you drink so much?!"
He reeks of alcohol, and his hair is totally messy. I left him on the living room to get a glass of water but when I came back, he's already sleeping.
"Dion! Drink this first!" I intentionally slapped him.
He's saying something that I don't understand, and he's grabbing anything his eyes landed on. He's doing so many sign languages while he's talking to me.
"Sorrbecozaskd... Imnotztellngyo..."
"Drink this first!" I said, irritated.
He did not follow it quickly and he just laid his head on the sofa.
"Dion!"
After hearing my loud growl, he immediately opened his eyes and picked up the glass of water on the table. When he finished drinking it, he closed his eyes and laid back again.
"You should get to sleep. I don't know why you drink so much tonight, but it looks like you had enough."
I am very mad. I am almost crying with great annoyance. But he did not move. When I looked at him again, he was just silently sleeping.
With my heart as soft as a cloud, I went back to take off his blazer. I pulled him on the stairs and carried him to his room. I hate the smell of alcohol, but I endured it. Everytime he drinks, he would not dare come to me because he knows I hate the smell of it.
I silently screamed when he puked on the floor. That was the time when I already cried in so much frustration and pain from my heart.
What would I do now?
Then he suddenly spoke something while his eyes are closed.
"Lyn..."
I stopped from crying and walking towards the door. What did he say? I did not hear it. I was just about to come near him when he spoked again.
"Lyn..."
It really stopped me because I know that I heard it clear the first time. Of course I can never go wrong when it comes to Dion. I know he said it clearly. But who is Lyn? Is she his officemate? A colleague?
I am stunned for a few minutes before I finally convinced myself to get a pile and towel from the bathroom. My eyes are blurry while cleaning his mess.
Lyn... I think I've already heard of that name before.
I almost laughed out of craziness when I realized I was lying to myself. Since when did talked to you about his life? And for how long? Ten seconds? Five? Pathetic.
When I was done cleaning the floor, I came to him to change his clothes. I also wiped his face and his upper body.
That was the first time he ever ended up like that. And that was also the last time I dare to wait for him.
I tried and tried cooking different foods. Different cuisines. Anything. I also tried baking. Starting with cupcakes until I can finally bake a whole cake. I learned and practiced everything that I want to. Doing the household chores, gardening... Everything just to be deserving. I guess?
I just suddenly thought, does Lyn know all of these?
"I'm going somewhere," he said the day after that night.
"It's your day off right? Where? Can I come with you?"
"Party with colleagues in a bar."
"So can I come?" I insisted.
"You wouldn't like the smell."
"It's fine! I can adjust!"
"Are you serious? No. Just stay here."
"I'm serious. Please..." and that's the magic word again.
I prepared very well for that night. I sported a fitted dark blue body con dress and a black pumps. And I also put a light make up on my face.
Dion was very silent on our way there.
When we arrived, the loud noise from the trance music is already banging on the area. The lights are dim and neon colors are spattered around blending with it. The smoke is very visible. And the smell? I could not even describe it.
I stayed at the back while Dion leads the way.
"Backing out?" he teased.
I shake my head. Of course not? It's the only way for me to get to know you better. I won't waste the opportunity!
"Dion!" Suddenly, a bunch of monsters flocked towards us.
And when I say monsters, I mean it.
A tall and pretty girl greeted Dion with a peck on his cheek. Followed by a fair and lean man. There are so many of them in the group and mostly are girls. I was left alone. I sit beside Dion on a very long, rectangular sofa on the private area of that bar. They are all around us until I find myself on a boring situation like where I am now.
Dion and the boys are talking about something I didn't know. Probably about their work. And now, the girls are doing the hot seat on me.
They ask questions about how old am I, what school am I attending, if am I an honor student, if am I born with a spoon on my mouth and many more questions that is very intimidating for me.
"So, how long does Dion already stayed in your house?" a girl named Cheska asked. She has this very annoying aura for me.
"4 years." I answered while holding a glass of strawberry juice. This is what only Dion could offer. He forbids me to drink.
"What course are you taking?"
"Business Management."
Her faced flashed a disbelief. "Oh... I thought you were up to Architecture or somehow Engineering." she asked, mockingly.
"Ah, no."
"So how do you think you can help Dion with that?" she asked again that is very irritating, I swear I could strangle her.
