Days passed by quickly and it was one day before dance. My phone buzzed letting me know that I had a text. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and I was in my room just watching Netflix and killing time.
I reached for the phone from stand near the bed. It was the text from Carly.
'Get ready in 5 minutes. We are coming to get you to go to shopping for tomorrow'
I lazily dragged myself off the bed and dug in my closet choosing a pair of simple jeans and a loose brown tee. I wasn't as excited as my friends were. I let down my red hair letting loose curls cascade on my shoulder. Just few strokes with my hair brush and light shade of lip gloss and I was ready to leave.
I waited for Carly and Honey for about 5 minutes sitting on my bed and heard Honey's car horn on the street. I picked up my bag and left my room .

The shopping was kind of dull for me, however, Carly and Honey squealed like little girls as they went through the pretty dresses.
"Hey, this will look pretty on you", Carly said holding a pinkish white simple dress.
"Aha. Fine I'll take that", I said without taking a second look on the dress.
"You aren't trying it?" Carly asked, raising her eyebrow to me.
"Nah." I replied keeping my eyes glued on my phone screen just giving her glances time to time. I couldn't keep my mind off of what happened last time.
"Loosen up girl". Honey exclaimed looking at the dull look on my face.
"It wasn't your fault" A familiar voice said behind me and I turned and smiled at Jason.
"J, what are you doing here?" Honey exclaimed looking surprised.
"I called him to help me choose my dress." Carly grinned widely.
"Neil ain't here?" Jason scanned the room and gave a little frown at the idea of being alone with girls in their shopping.
"No, I wanted to give him a little surprise tomorrow night." Honey said holding a pretty pink dress in her hand, analysing it.
"Now that I think about it-"
"Don't bother with thinking," I cut Carly coldly, "Anyway, what were you saying about not being anyone's fault?"
"Oh, I was talking about you choosing your dress, It isn't your fault. Stop feeling so gloomy"
"God knows what you are talking about",I stammered nervously.
"I heard you."
I stared at Jason. It was almost like he was reading my thoughts. I was thinking about the fire that burned down the half school building last year. But how could he know?
My heart raced as the thought of Jason knowing anything related to the fire came creeping in my head. My face went pale and I couldn't hide the worries in my eyes.My breathes became shallow. A faint voice inside my head told me to clam down. It told me it was ok.
"Is everything ok guys?" Honey's voice interrupted the intense concentration between Jason's eye contact with me.
"I am sorry guys, I guess I'll leave now." I walked away slightly brushing my elbow to Jason's arm. He winched a little and I knew he felt a burning sensation on his arm as our skin touched as I walked past him.
