Chapter 9 - Epilogue

Next day Jason visited her parents. Sobbing restlessly in the living room, her mum, clutching the letter her daughter had left for them.

"Mr. and Mrs. Rover, I am really sorry for what happened last night."

Lia's father wiped his tears and gave Jason a faint smile. "It's ok son. It wasn't your fault."

Tears running down his eyes as soon as he wiped it. There were two cops in the room with them.

Lia's mother handed him the letter Lia had left. Jason read it,

Dear mum and dad,

I really messed up tonight. I am so sorry. I don't know what to do. I know the second I would've told you about tonight, you would have packed your bags ,again.I can't always let you guys suffer because of me. I want you to have a normal life. Mum, dad, I love you both a lot. So ,I am running away, on my own. Because I think it's time to take responsibilities for my mistakes. I hurt my friend today. I am never gonna forgive myself if something happened to her. There's so many times I've let you down. But now, it's too much. I don't belong there mum. A monster doesn't belong there. Please forgive me. Tell my friends that I love them. And please say Carly that I apologize for what happened. I am going away from all of you. That way everyone will stay safe from me.

Love Lia

The weight of Lia's words hung around Jason chest. His heart felt heavier listening to the thoughts Lia's parents were thinking about. Honey and Neil were on the hospital with Carly. Jason wanted to check on Lia before he went to the hospital as her house was on the way. He and honey had called her so many times last night but she wouldn't answer.

"I'll find you Lia. No matter what. Maybe if I had told you that I knew about you, maybe if I had told you I could read thoughts. If I had told you I could telepath, that I was also one of your kind. You wouldn't have felt left out. Maybe I could've helped you. Maybe I can still help you. I'll find you, no matter what" Jason thought to himself.

Wiping his tears, Jason left the letter on the couch near Lia's mother and left.

He spent the whole day locked inside his room. Crying silently so that no one would hear him.

As the night fell, he packed his bag. Making sure his parents were asleep he made his way out of his house. Holding the burned out rose in a glass box and holding her memories in his heart, he left in that dark night.
