Chapter 51 - Class Reveal

Licht twirled his fork around his fingers as swallowed the spoonful of noodles in his mouth. His nose scrunched up as his face twisted into that of disgust. It wasn't the meal, the meal was great as is. But the stench of blood was ruining his appetite by the minute. The smell was old and faint, but still very apparent.

That very stench was coming from a girl, who sat at the center of the cafeteria surrounded by other student extras. She laughed at some poor kid's joke as she presented her sickly-sweet smile like a trophy. Sigh, another poor chap in love.

Her eyes flicker to the side and connect with his; she flashes a smile but Licht sneers back at her in return.

The girl narrows her eyes a bit, before diverting her attention once again. Licht knew there was obviously something wrong with the girl, but he chose not to pry. As long as she did not stray into his lane, he wouldn't do so for hers' either.

"I didn't know you were so interested in Ryia," Matt mentions in curiosity. Licht with his every lethargic expression never paid any attention to anyone.

"Hmm?" Licht mumbled, slurping his noodles. He turned to face Matt in front of him.

"Ryia Adelisa Stave! One of the five school beauties! Gentle and kind; she even associates with the commoners, even though she's an aristocrat! Isn't she an angel?!"

'Gentle, kind, angel? Bullshit. Your so-called angel is a bloody murderer!!' Licht commented in his mind but did not attempt to make it known in the real world.

"Anyways, I never said you could speak to me, did I? I agreed to help you get stronger, but I never agreed to -"

"What's all this talk about getting stronger?" Alice barged into the conversion, dropping her tray with a 'bang' next to Licht. Licht clicked his tongue as he turned away from her.

"Aiya~ Licht, why can't you be a gentleman for once. You see a beautiful young lady like me, and this is how you react?" She slurred with a playful voice.

Licht's right eye twitches and he pushes away his tray. "I just lost my appetite." Alice gives a haughty scoff before she starts eating her meal. Matthew looks between the two awkwardly, "Uh… the cards they gave us are pretty handy don't you think?" He questions in an attempt to break the tension lurking around them.

The card he was referring to was their identification; complete with their names, occupations, ranking, and points. Unlike their previous temporary point card, this card had a variety of purposes. Food expenses, entertainment; trading etcetera.

"It's honestly kind of convenient," Alice began as she dropped her fork. "With the ranking system, it's easier to tell whether we need to improve or not but that isn't important right now," She whipped her head to turn to Licht, "What I want to know is how your class works. It isn't written in any records from what I've heard."

Licht gave Alice a cold stare; "A-alice …if Licht doesn't want to talk don't force him. He isn't the only one with a new occupation; we practically get a new one every ten years so relax."

"He's going to talk," Alice said confidently as she stared at Licht intently. As much as Licht wanted to deny it, he had to talk and avoid secrets.

With a sigh, Licht began; "My class, Imitator, allows me to use magic that I've seen and analyzed. I basically copy magic I've already seen." He stated curtly leaning on his hand with his elbow resting on the table. There was an uncomfortable silence before Alice spoke up, "I-isn't that way too overpowered?"

"That's why you can use different magicks!" Matt exclaims.

"Tell the whole world why don't ya," Licht grumbles loudly with a small mumble in reply. A tray clatters softly on the table, as a girl with luscious black hair and black eyes sits on the same table as the trio. Her name was Lisa Ivette Helisent, daughter of Duke Helisent, the man that made a huge contribution during the war. It is said that their family is made entirely of people of the dark element.

She gives a small smile, "My name is Lisa Helisent. It's nice to meet you all."

"Oooh~ You're polite…Nice to meet you, I'm Alice, that's Matt and this grumpy fella is Licht." She chirps and Matt gives a small wave. "Soo-"

"Wow! Birds of the same feather, really do flock together." A loud and familiar voice comments, interrupting Alice.

Licht groans and pinches the bridge of his nose, "You've got to be fucking kidding me!" He mumbles under his breath.

Davie in all his delusional glory, waltzes into the scene, takes one look at the group, and gives a condescending scoff.

"Why, if it isn't the reject club." He glanced at Licht with a scowl, "It seems the whole crew is here! Let's see…we have a filthy commoner, a reject noble, a wannabe noble and…" He paused for dramatic effect, "… a monster posing as a human, isn't that right?" He turned to Licht with a knowing look.

'This bitch…' Licht thought to himself as he felt an extreme urge to strangle Davie. He kept his nonchalant façade; he couldn't cause any trouble; again.

'Monster posing... as a human'; Matt and Alice both turned to Licht, they were curious, sure, but hearing it from Davie's mouth was…off-putting. While Matt cowered away and lowered his head, Alice turned to him with a very evident frown on her face.

"If you have a problem going to school with a 'commoner', then please complain to the director. It's not like I wanted to associate with people like you either." She sasses emphasizing the word commoner with air quotes.

Davie grits his teeth, "Y-you…"
