"Licht…what in the hell…" Alice's smile falters, "…am I looking at?"
"A gauntlet?" The gauntlet was made of Licht's usual ore and magic stone mixture.
It was colored silver and red, which differed from Licht's usual color scheme. It was a leather glove covered in armor, leather for flexibility, and metals for durability. The sturdy leather made up the glove, before being covered up with what can be seen as scales of armor. As it got closer to the fingers, those scales slowly became claws resembling that of a beast.
Alice carefully carries the unusual object into her hands, it somewhat resembled gauntlets she had seen before but it was significantly different. Gauntlets were made for 'protecting' a knight's hand during combat, but what she saw looked like it was made for combat. The fingertips were sharp and claw-like, unlike the rounded tips she was used to.
"Well, what does it look like?" Licht questions her. Alice looked unsure of herself as she parted her lips to answer, "Gauntlets...I think?"
"Then that's what it is. You wanted offensive and I gave you offensive. Now to nap." He sasses as huffs and marches to the shaded corner. Lying there, he dozed off with a frown on his face.
Glancing at Licht with a raised brow, Alice put on the gauntlets only to be surprised how comfortable and flexible they were.
"Wooah…where did he get these from?" She whispered to herself.
"Those are impressive," Matt called out and complimented from behind her. She nods her head as she turns to him, "Hell yeah! More than impressive even."
Flexing her fingers, she swipes the air imagining herself fighting a goblin. Adrenaline ran through her, as she could imagine herself shred through a dungeon with her new weapons on.
"I think this is it." She muttered to herself.
"You've got to be kidding me. You have it, a-"
"Weapon proficiency." Alice interrupted Matt with a smug smirk.
"Damn it! Am I the only untalented one here?" He exclaims with a frustrated look, gaining a few eyes on him. Muttering 'sorry' in return, he turns in Licht's direction with a pout.
"What're you looking at me for?" Licht growls out as his eyes snap open; well, eye. They couldn't see his left eye under the patch.
"What do you mean?" Matt questions as he turns away and rounds his lips in a poor attempt to whistle.
Licht sighs, "Look, I'm not trying to be negative but the weapon you have any chance of handling is probably a bow. Luckily, you're familiar with it but I'm sure you don't want to be any regular archer, right?"
Thinking for a moment Matt nods his head.
"That's where my idea comes in. If you can manage to do that, we can use your unique mana manipulation to aid your skill in archery and you'll hopefully evolve into a hybrid class or something more."
Matt blinked in shock, he thought that Licht thought nothing of him. Hell, he didn't even think Licht would've thought that far.
"All you have to do is listen to what I say and do your part of your deal and we'll be fine."
Matt nods with teary eyes as he pulls once again at the bow in his hands.
Licht's mouth twitches, 'What a baby' He thinks to himself with a shake of his head.
By deal, Licht meant when Matt just found out about his eyes.
********
"I won't tell a soul, but you'll have to listen to my one request."
"What is it?" Licht snaps as his lips curl into a snarl.
"I want you to help me become stronger."
Licht pauses, "That's all?"
"Yes?"
"Just to be clear, you want my help in training you?"
"Yes."
Many thoughts ran through Licht's head, but what stood out the most was 'How is this boy so naïve?'
There were so many things he could have asked for, many so on the worse side, but he asked to be trained. Licht's impression of Matt grew at that moment.
"Fine, I'll train you but what's in it for me?" Licht asked, but truth be told, Licht had no interest in what Matt could provide him. He just didn't want to give his training to anyone for cheap.
Matt's eyes lit up as he beamed in happiness, "I can give uhh...What can I give?"
Licht facepalmed, "Let's change the content of this contract a bit, I'll train you just a bit. I'll give you some advice here and there, but not completely; and when you give me something I need or prove to me you're talented I can train you for real."
Matt nodded his head wildly, "Deal!" He exclaimed flashing his pearly whites.

Licht stretches out his arms, class was soon about to end. Matt has made zero progress and Alice is slashing around with a wild smile on her face. Everything was just peachy.
"I hope you kids have not been slacking off." Serece's voice calls out as she walks into view dragging a grown man by his pointed ear. "We were meant to have a special guest at the start of class, now the class is going to be extended."
A familiar face; with his straight ash-grey hair to his shoulders and his green eyes, Licht recognized him to be the elf from the rooftop.
"Introduce yourself!" Serece snaps at him, slapping him on his back.
With a cough, he began. "My name is Luthais Farric. I'm an elf from the kingdom of Aria. I'm also the founder of this school."
